The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Coming out from the kitchen, Yang Wenqiang was silent.

Even Wang Jingrui, who had already met Fu Yu, had a contemplative look in his eyes.

He had personally witnessed the innovative dish before.

That innovative harvest stew was so stunning even to his eyes.

But when it came to the improved salt and pepper mantis shrimp, he had the kitchen staff try to replicate it.

They found it to be particularly labor-intensive.

The chefs generally felt that this method of improvement seemed simple but actually tested knife skills greatly.

If it were Yao Shi, or even Zhao Meng or Gu Yunwu, anyone casually handling this improved method, everyone would accept it quite easily.

But for it to be Fu Yu,

it was really unbelievable.

You can be talented or a genius.

But no matter which, you need a process of learning and honing your skills.

Yet it seemed Fu Yu just skipped the middle part and directly reached the end.

The speed of his progress was like riding a rocket, wasn’t it?

Wang Jingrui couldn’t help but look at Dong Jun Tian with jealousy.

This guy is really lucky!

Look at his team, each one better than the last!

After coming back from the kitchen, they chatted a bit more, and then Wang Jingrui and Yang Wenqiang prepared to leave.

Before leaving, Yang Wenqiang casually said, ”Old Dong! With someone like Fu Yu, if you ride this wave of attention and manage it well, he might just become a hit!”

Dong Jun Tian was taken aback, ”What do you mean?”

Yang Wenqiang said, ”Your restaurant is getting so much attention right now! Online, almost everyone is siding with Fu Yu and speaking up for him. If at this moment, it’s revealed that this upright and noble chef who defies authority is also a young handsome man! Think about it, won’t the netizens like him even more!”

Dong Jun Tian’s eyes lit up as he listened.

Yang Wenqiang continued, ”Just like that 1818 male god from before, what’s his name? Isn’t it because of his good looks that he topped the trending searches and easily won his rights case? I’m telling you, if someone looks good, even if they do nothing, just standing there, people will like them!”

After speaking, Yang Wenqiang turned to ask Wang Jingrui and Yao Shi beside him.

”Old Wang? Chef Yao, am I right?”

Wang Jingrui smiled, glancing at Yao Shi’s expression from the corner of his eye.

Yao Shi gave a forced smile, secretly cursing, ”Nonsense!”

Because fame brings trouble.

Fu Yu is still young and at a stage of storing energy for a future leap.

If he actually gets famous, how will he work?

Moreover, Qianlima’s business has been thriving in recent years.

There are people in the industry who admire it and others who are jealous.

Dong Jun Tian is well-established, and others dare not touch him, but what’s Fu Yu got?

If something happens at a music restaurant, he can definitely stand up for Fu Yu, but can Dong Jun Tian?

What was said without ill intent was taken to heart.

Yang Wenqiang casually suggested, but Dong Jun Tian was moved by it.

After seeing off Wang Jingrui and Yang Wenqiang,

Dong Jun Tian discussed with Yao Shi, ”Coincidentally, I customized a banner, and later I’ll have Fu Yu take a few photos with it, one set for the TV station, and one set to upload online. At that time, maybe it can indeed attract another wave of customers with this heat.”

Yao Shi casually said, ”Then Old Jia will really have to resign.”

Dong Jun Tian: ”...”

Because previously, Qianlima had declared online that Jia Rundong would be reassigned and put under observation.

So for the past few days, Jia Rundong has been confined to the office area, not daring to show his face in public.

His daily work has already been severely affected.

If the heat of this matter is stirred up again, Jia Rundong’s work will truly be untenable.

Yao Shi’s seemingly indifferent words easily dispelled Dong Jun Tian’s idea of riding Fu Yu’s heat.

...

In the afternoon, a staff member from the Municipal Propaganda Department suddenly came to find Dong Jun Tian.

The dates for the Sanjiang Tourism Festival were set for the end of the month, on the 28th, lasting ten days.

Coinciding perfectly with the National Day holiday.

The staff member from the Municipal Propaganda Department said with a smile, ”Boss Dong, I’m here specifically to deliver the registration form for the Golden Chef Skills Competition to your restaurant!”

The Golden Chef Skills Competition is held annually, with participants from the city’s more famous hotels and restaurants.

In previous years, the Municipal Propaganda Department usually contacted by phone, and the registration form was sent to emails, filled out by each shop owner and submitted.

However, this year the situation was different.

Because Bei’an City was to participate in the national charm city selection.

Thus, they attached great importance to the annual Sanjiang Tourism Festival.

For the past few years, the competition judges invited have been well-known chefs in the city or somewhat famous food critics.

But this year, the government funded invites to international culinary gods, international culinary arts masters like Dai Jinghe, famous provincial hosts like Li Chongfu, local cuisine masters like Chen Xinwei from the country, one of the top ten news legal figures, and famous culinary masters like Zhang Zhiyuan to serve as members of this competition’s jury committee.

With these big names in attendance, the entire competition’s prestige instantly shot up.

The government, having intentions of boosting its chances for the charm city selection in the future, allocated substantial funds for the Sanjiang Tourism Festival projects this time around.

Thus, as a significant event, the Golden Chef Skills Competition received extra attention.

The Municipal Propaganda Department was very mindful of potential participants and so specifically sent people for pre-competition consultation.

The staff handed the registration form to Dong Jun Tian, instructing, ”Although this year there are more participants than last year, our leaders have already given early notice. If your restaurant is willing, you can have one more person participate.”

Actually, in previous years, Qianlima Restaurant always sent one representative, but last year, Yao Shi inexplicably shifted from a performer guest to a participant, though the reaction wasn’t great in the circle, the publicity among the public was particularly strong.

Mainly because Yao Shi’s culinary skills were indeed exquisite, every move he made during the cooking performance to captivate the audience was deliberately polished in private.

However, after last year’s events, it’s impossible for Yao Shi to participate again.

As for the kitchen team, Zhao Meng had injured his hand, and Gu Yunwu was certainly immobile.

If Fu Yu went to compete, there would only be Yao Yihang left.

As for Sun Qingning, in Dong Jun Tian’s eyes, he’s just a novice learning to flip pans. The so-called independent cooking would take another year or half a year of practice under Zhao Meng’s close guidance, and even then, it’s uncertain!

Understanding the situation clearly, faced with the invitation, Dong Jun Tian politely declined, ”Our circumstances are special, and we might only be able to send one person this year.”

Dong Jun Tian explained the internal situation in detail.

The staff, unable to persuade him, left a registration form and thoroughly explained the specific competition procedures and schedule before departing with Dong Jun Tian’s warm send-off.
