Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 449: Sovereign Ontological Override

The instant Grey pushed his raw power to full throttle, Angela, who was resting in her room not too far away, violently opened her eyes. A deep frown appeared on her beautiful face, but the alarming sensation vanished just as quickly as it appeared.

”What was that suffocating pressure just now?” Angela muttered, wearing a deeply bewildered expression.

Ever since that mysterious temporal expert appeared, she had been highly on edge. She immediately swept her vast consciousness toward her son’s room, only to see him sitting there in deep, peaceful meditation with zero energy fluctuations whatsoever.

She heaved a heavy sigh of relief. She did not want to invade her son’s privacy, hence she did not probe any deeper and swiftly dispersed her consciousness.

”If anyone dares to take my Little Silver away, I will butcher them all.”

Angela, who was once an average, loving housewife in a mundane middle-class family, had been brutally shaped by the cosmic world of evolvers. She was no longer her old, gentle self.

She was a cold, ruthless Matriarch who commanded a major Duke family in the Pan-Cosmic Human Alliance.

But toward her children, especially the ones from her previous life, she was still that soft-hearted mother. It was glaringly evident to her other children in how she treated Juli compared to the rest. She and Anderson were incredibly soft toward Juli but strictly ruthless toward their newly born heirs.

And now, the exact same case applied to Grey. The precious memories of the past simply held far more weight for both of them.

----

”Good work, Fragment,” Grey mumbled silently, thanking the shard that had stepped in just in time to mask the glowing Nexus overclock patterns running fiercely across his skin.

It had seamlessly slipped between Grey and the descending consciousness to project a flawless, fake image. And since Angela’s probe was not aggressive, it got the job done quietly. Besides, it was a literal fragment of the Heavenly Dao. If it could not even scam a 6th Ranker, it should probably just delete itself.

With that crisis averted, Grey plunged his mind back down into the chaotic depths of the Chaos Source Codex.

He immediately focused on the mysterious ticks echoing in the void. They had grown much faster, and their sheer numbers had multiplied exponentially. Navigating the Chaos Source Codex was highly similar to tuning an old FM radio. You had to twist the dial until you caught the exact right frequency. He was violently twisting and bending his own mind, desperately trying to catch a viable signal hidden in the static.

And just as the mental strain peaked, his weaponized enlightenment violently triggered!

The Boundless Microcosmic Power of Ascendancy roared to life. It forcefully hijacked his cognitive processes, shifting the alignment of his mind in a terrifying, unnatural way, and plunged him straight down into an ancient, hidden frequency channel.

For a split second, Grey went into a full-blown daze as supreme, forbidden information smashed into his mind like a cosmic tidal wave.

With each passing minute, his expression rapidly morphed from simple confusion to utter, mind-numbing shock as the true nature of the technique was permanently branded into his soul.

And eventually, he comprehended it!

[Your comprehension defies the Heavens! By observing the frequency channel of the Sovereign, you have successfully grasped the Sovereign Ontological Override Technique!]

The Sovereign Ontological Override.

This was what he was looking for!

”Fragment, I need a black hole!” Grey opened his eyes wide as he turned to the Fragment hovering near him.

”What?” the Fragment asked with a confused expression on its face.

”A black hole! The universe dictates that information cannot be truly destroyed. As digital information is crushed down by the pressure of a black hole, it hits the event horizon. Stripped of its digital format, the raw data has nowhere to go but out. It is violently expelled from the black hole, and It comes out as a faint emission of particles, Radiation!”

”Meaning, to form a Source, I need a black hole and make it permanently stay there to constantly grab information. Meaning, I need an event horizon-like effect to achieve frequency transcendence!”

”WHAT?!” the Fragment was baffled when it heard such a crazy remark.

He needed a black hole? What the hell was this guy talking about? Not even an Origin Seed could survive a black hole, let alone an Origin Nova. It took a 6th Ranker to survive a black hole!

”Do you feel like killing yourself right now?” the Fragment could not help but ask.

”No, what?” Grey asked in an equally speechless tone.

”I am not feeling suicidal enough to jump into a black hole.” Grey gave a dry laugh. ”I just said that I need a black hole in the heat of the moment.”

”What I actually need is the special attribute of the black hole. I need the event horizon’s ability to turn matter, data, and existence itself into radiation, which is basically just cosmic frequency.”

”How are you going to do that?”

”Simple. The Sovereign Ontological Override is the answer. It allows me to achieve an event horizon-like state, and during that time I can convert anything I desire into radiation, also known as cosmic frequencies.”

”The answer is here, Fragment! The world works on frequencies, and we are one step further from the clutches of the Heavenly Dao!”

By now, his evolutionary path was completely different and had achieved true self-reliance. The Source itself gave birth to power rather than borrowing from external sources.

Of course, he was still going to use the Dao of Power to borrow a power increment in each level. But that was something he could not do anything about yet. He could not dictate raw power, nor did he possess authority over how evolution worked.

He would need to reach higher levels for that. Maybe his authority as the creator of the Nexus path just might be the way to gain authority over evolution itself. That is what the Ultimate Leap was hinting at to him.
