Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 446: How they died and the strange connection to information layer

”Well,” Anderson and Angela looked at each other with deep uncertainty. ”It is not wrong to actively wonder about that. But we genuinely do not know for sure either.”

”The very last thing we saw before waking up in this strange world was our vision going completely blank.”

”If I am not wrong, you had already left and gone to the big city for university at that time. We were simply having a quiet breakfast at home, me, Juli, and your mother. And then we suddenly lost consciousness.”

”Huh?” Grey frowned deeply upon hearing this.

There was actually such a thing?

They simply lost consciousness. He was fully expecting them to have died by a rogue electricity accident, exactly like him and Lin Fang did. But it seems like that was absolutely not the case.

”But what is even more strange is that after asking my father about it, he just had a deeply confused look on his face,” Anderson added seriously. ”He explicitly mentioned that something massive must have happened to Earth as a whole, because it absolutely was not his Immortal Dharma that forcefully pulled us into this world on a random Monday morning on Earth. It was highly likely because something catastrophic had happened there.”

”That is highly interesting,” Grey replied absentmindedly.

Did something catastrophic actually happen to his old Earth?

For starters, he definitely needed to find Lin Fang again, and then actively track down more transmigrators to carefully ask around about this specific anomaly.

”By the way, Silver. When exactly did you awaken your memories of the past?” both Anderson and Angela turned immediately curious. They desperately wanted to know exactly when their baby boy had awakened in this harsh universe.

”Well,” Grey froze for a brief moment before sighing and crafting a believable lie. ”It has been quite a while since I awakened my memories, I guess. Since the young age of five or six. Very similar to you guys.”

Of course, that was a complete lie. Normal people on Star Blue could not officially cultivate until they were sixteen or seventeen. But there were naturally hidden ways to make one cultivate much faster, such as the elite people starting at the young age of twelve in the Floating City and other prominent factions.

And with his unique evolutionary path, they could theoretically start at absolutely any time. Because his synthesized Aether Energy had a natural, highly nourishing effect on the physical body, it directly skipped the painfully slow formation of the traditional elixir field. It was not strictly about just sensing the ambient energy, after all. His path utilized a supreme breathing technique to flawlessly mimic the exact energy pattern required to securely accumulate power inside the body, and it automatically activated the elixir fields instantly.

However, he absolutely did not reveal to them the terrifying fact that he had successfully achieved his 4th Rank in less than a single year of actual evolution.

Rather, he simply could not. Not until he completely confirmed that the absolute secrets of his Chaos Lotus, the Chaos Source Codex, and his highly special race as a chaotic mix of God, Dragon, and everything else remained a permanent secret.

His parents were both incredibly close to the 7th Rank. What his enhanced senses had already noticed was that they both held an intricate, passive connection directly to the Information Layer. Whenever they simply spoke, the surrounding information currents subtly shifted.

He could not properly observe the exact depth of it yet.

But the sheer fact that the currents were continuously shifting meant that base information was actively changing around them. He was absolutely not going to blindly reveal his true cultivation speed without any prior confirmation as to what exactly this passive change was.

If the heaven-defying things related to him leaked out into the Information Layer, then the supreme Tian Yuan would literally be at his front door tomorrow morning. And that terrifying guy was actively, aggressively engaging with the Information Layer himself.

He was finally in the true starry sky now. He had to be incredibly cautious about absolutely everything. He still did not truly know what exactly 6th Rankers could and could not do.

For now, he would strictly act low-profile, quietly gather essential information and power, and then safely reveal it to his parents later.

He would purposely make his displayed powers look as unappealing and standard as possible so they would absolutely not probe him and accidentally discover the Chaos Lotus or the Chaos Source Codex.

And he absolutely could not let them know about the world-ending matters of the Lesser Heaven construct.

’Now for the final, ultimate test. Can I successfully stop time against them?’ Grey pondered. He could already effortlessly stop it around Arnold, who was also a 6th Ranker.

But what about his parents, who were at the absolute peak of the 6th Rank?

It was highly risky, but it was absolutely worth a quick try to gauge their true limits. By now, he had thoroughly learned to act highly cautious and prepare his trump cards in silence.

Once he officially reached the 5th Rank, the entire cosmos would inevitably know about his existence. But he strictly had to lay low until that specific moment arrived.

’Here we go.’

Grey’s eyes flashed with a hidden golden light for a brief fraction of a second, and the entire world violently froze apart.

Both of his parents were instantly, flawlessly frozen in time.

Confirming this absolute dominance, Grey instantly let go of the time stop. However, just as quickly as time resumed, both Angela and Anderson had a massive, violent change of expression.

”What exactly was that just now?!” Anderson shouted, a completely stunned and horrified expression on his handsome face.

”Was that a 7th Ranker?!” Angela likewise had a freezing, lethal expression on her beautiful face.

Then, just as quickly, she sharply snapped her elegant fingers. Immediately, the physical space directly around Grey was violently locked down, and an impenetrable barrier made out of dense cosmic energy materialized perfectly around him.

Without a single second of hesitation, she tightly stepped forward and physically entered the protective barrier right alongside him, shielding him with her own body.

Grey was completely dumbfounded seeing them act so violently protective and alert.

”I will go actively check it out. Keep our son completely safe,” Anderson ordered sharply as his physical figure blinked entirely out of existence.

”What exactly happened, Mom?” Grey asked, playing the part of a confused teenager while his mother cautiously scanned the surrounding void.

”We both are highly sensitive to raw information, and we can passively sense exactly what conceptual changes are constantly happening around us. Those specific changes in information never get erased. This is a fundamental part of our unique abilities as peak 6th Rankers,” Angela explained briefly, her expression remaining incredibly serious. ”And we just received terrifying information that someone nearby had forcefully used Time Stop.”

”Only highly special power beings and supreme Saints can possibly utilize a true Time Stop,” Angela mumbled as her vast divine consciousness aggressively swept over her son.

For some highly strange, maternal reason, she actually felt like it was her own son that was directly behind the temporal anomaly. But her invasive probe gathered absolutely nothing. Because the Fateless One physique was something not even a supreme being like her could possibly sense or analyze.

Soon, Anderson blinked back into existence.

”I could not find absolutely anything,” he reported, a deep, frustrated frown etched on his face.

”I still cannot let this highly dangerous matter go. I will immediately inform the Emperor about this massive security breach. You take Little Silver securely around the estate while I go.”

”Alright,” Angela affirmed firmly.

She slowly turned back to Grey and affectionately patted his forehead, her lethal aura softening instantly.

”It is alright, Grey. Nothing will happen to you. I will never let you get separated from us ever again.”
