Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 435: Endless Potential and Hongmeng

A brand new day dawned. Valeria woke up with a slightly frustrated look on her beautiful face.

She looked down at the handsome man who was sleeping soundly, tightly trapped within her warm embrace, and let out a soft sigh.

She carefully stood up, making sure not to wake him, and tied her loose silk nightgown once again.

They had not gone all the way last night, but simply slept tightly clinging to each other in a deeply affectionate, warm embrace. Valeria felt a new, warm fire light up in her heart. She suddenly felt a strong urge to make fresh coffee for her boyfriend. She did not really know how to cook a full meal, but she definitely knew how to brew an excellent cup of coffee.

She had read online that making a warm drink for a boyfriend who works incredibly hard every single day was a profound, silent act of true affection. She quickly went to the mansion’s kitchen and swiftly brewed a fresh, steaming cup of premium coffee. By the time she came back to the bedroom, Grey was already wide awake, sitting up and staring at the wall with a completely blank, thoughtful look on his face.

Seeing Valeria enter the room carrying a steaming cup of coffee, looking absolutely radiant in her silk nightgown, immediately made Grey’s eyes light up.

”Did you actually make this just for me?” Grey asked, a highly warm, affectionate smile forming on his face.

She softly sat on the edge of the plush bed and patted the empty space beside her. ”Come closer,” Valeria spoke with a sweet, loving smile.

Grey happily complied and shifted over to sit right next to her. She gently blew on the hot coffee to cool it down and lovingly handed it to Grey.

”You do know the normal heat from a cup of coffee can do absolutely nothing to either of us, right?” Grey pointed out with a small, highly amused laugh.

”I know. But I have always wanted to do this for you,” Valeria said softly, looking deeply into Grey’s eyes with a gentle, adoring smile.

Grey happily took the mug into his hands and began drinking the rich coffee. By his side, Valeria simply stared at him in comfortable silence. She truly, deeply enjoyed this intimate moment of peace with her partner.

”Grey,” Valeria softly called out to him.

”Yes?” Grey tilted his head in curiosity.

”Promise... promise me that you will never leave me,” Valeria whispered, her beautiful eyes suddenly turning slightly misty with raw emotion.

”Of course not,” Grey shook his head softly, gently reaching out to stroke her cheek. ”What exactly are you saying? Why would I ever leave you?”

Valeria had faithfully helped him during his lowest points and had constantly tried to win his heart since their early days in Ashspire City. She had loved him deeply from then until now. There was absolutely no way he was ever going to let her go.

”That is exactly what I wanted to hear!” Valeria’s expression instantly turned bright and cheerful again, and she gave him a highly playful wink. ”I actually have something very special planned for your upcoming birthday.”

”Oh?” Grey was highly amused when he heard this.

Valeria simply leaned closer and sweetly pecked his lips once again to seal the promise.

....

A few hours later.

Grey was sitting cross-legged on the quiet balcony attached to his room. Lia and Little Hong were still safely in the other room, actively undergoing their profound cosmic transformations. Right now, his primary focus was completely locked on gaining total comprehension of the Endless Potential Physique.

He had put it off for a few months now, but he had been slowly, passively gaining deep comprehension over it during all the intimate time he spent with Lia. Now, he was just one tiny step away from fully comprehending its absolute essence.

[Your comprehension defies the Heavens! By deeply observing the Endless Potential Physique, you have successfully gained insight into the Endless Potential Physique.]

And finally, something completely cracked within his mind.

Boom! Exactly like a fragile glass barrier violently shattering, a blinding white light shone directly into Grey’s Mind Palace. He physically felt a truly boundless power surging into his very existence.

[System: Your comprehension defies the Heavens! By observing the Endless Potential Physique, you have successfully comprehended the ’Endless Potential Physique’.]

Loud popping noises constantly rang out around Grey’s physical form as he felt a deeply profound, ancient power aggressively emerging within his body. There was absolutely no mistake about this specific feeling. This was the absolute power of Endless Potential.

At the exact same time, his enhanced mind, which was now highly sensitive to cosmic frequencies, suddenly picked up on a hidden, terrifying signal.

[Your comprehension defies the Heavens! By observing the Endless Potential power, you have successfully gained insight into the ’Boundless Microcosmic Power of Ascendancy’.]

Grey’s expression slowly morphed into pure shock when he felt ancient, foreign information rushing violently into his mind.

”I was completely wrong about this power,” Grey muttered, utterly stunned.

He had initially assumed that this terrifying trait had something directly to do with the Law of Hongmeng. But that was absolutely not the case. This specific, boundless power was directly related to the fabled Ascendant Domain!

”To think it was actually rooted in the Ascendant Domain.”

Grey knew perfectly well that true Gods held a deep, intrinsic connection to it. According to the mysterious cosmic voice he had previously heard speaking to the past version of Lia, it was explicitly mentioned that they were the supreme children of some boundless expression. Furthermore, each and every time they successfully underwent Nirvanic Rebirth, they grew exponentially stronger.

”That perfectly explains it,” Grey nodded heavily. ”This highly mysterious power was natively from the Ascendant Domain.”

He also finally understood exactly why Lia was an undisputed Empress in her previous divine life. A special, inherited power from that supreme dimensional plane would be extremely potent and terrifyingly powerful even to the elite people of the Higher Worlds.

”Let us properly test its absolute effects.”

Grey now had a very solid, rough understanding of what this heaven-defying physique actually did, and he desperately wanted to test it out immediately. And for his first test subject, he specifically chose the supreme Law of Hongmeng. It was the exact foundational law that Lia actively cultivated.

Slowly closing his eyes, he intensely focused his mind on the chaotic law naturally revolving around her glowing cocoon in the next room.

[Your comprehension defies the Heavens! By observing the Law of Hongmeng, you have successfully gained insight into it.]

However, right at that exact moment, the newly acquired Endless Potential power hidden deep within him violently stirred completely out of his control.

It traveled rapidly toward the exact location where his supreme Chaos Lotus rested. Much to Grey’s utter dumbfoundment, the arrogant Ascendancy Power was actually actively trying to fight and suppress the Chaos Lotus!

”Huh? What exactly is this?” Grey was left completely speechless.

However, just as quickly as the internal rebellion started, the supreme Chaos Lotus shone with a blinding, absolute light. Immediately, all of the boundless, arrogant efforts the Ascendancy Power put into the clash completely crumbled into dust under the Lotus’s terrifying, suppressive pressure.

And just as quickly as it submitted, Grey clearly felt a profound, conceptual gate magically appearing right beside his Cognitive Anchor within the Information Layer.

[Your comprehension defies the Heavens! You have successfully comprehended the Law of Hongmeng to Minor Succession.]

”I absolutely knew it.” Seeing this rapid, flawless progression, Grey became incredibly excited.

Endless Potential was literally pure, weaponized enlightenment. He technically already knew that it functioned highly similarly to enlightenment since the very first day Lia flawlessly comprehended Sword Energy. But now, this successful internal test made the terrifying theory absolutely concrete.

And right now, his overall state of enlightenment was sitting at a flawless, permanent one hundred percent. He could easily gain rapid, instantaneous enlightenment over absolutely any conceptual law in existence. Because the Endless Potential Ascendancy Power would forcefully kick open the hidden cosmic gates strictly required for him to comprehend them!

”This is vastly better than I initially expected.”

However, just then, Grey experienced a massive, violent change of expression.

His head snapped up. And just as quickly, Eterna’s digital avatar manifested urgently right beside Grey on the balcony.

”Grey...” she called out in a tone of extreme caution.

”I know,” Grey replied coldly. He had clearly sensed it exactly like she had. A terrifying, overwhelmingly powerful presence had just arrived.

Boom!

The bright daytime sky of Star Blue suddenly lost all of its natural light. Absolutely everyone across the entirety of the Milky Way Galaxy looked up in pure horror as they saw a gargantuan, cosmic hand swarming directly toward their galaxy.

Boom!

The invading Solarians scattered across the galaxy did not even have a single option to physically resist. Millions of them were directly, flawlessly destroyed the exact instant the galaxy-sized hand casually passed right through their fiery ranks.

Immediately, Grey’s internal mind interface, which was deeply connected to the cosmic internet, began ringing frantically.

It was an urgent, panicked call from his disciple, Carter.

And just as quickly as the hand wiped out the Solarian army, a massive, terrifying metallic structure exactly the size of an entire solar system abruptly warped into existence right above the fragile skies of Star Blue.
