Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1397: Chapter 1397: Thank You for Always Waiting for Me

After a while, Ning Yibin murmured, ”It’s done, a boy... two boys! Descendants for our Ning Family...”

”Yes! Old Ning, the Ning Family has heirs now! You’re a grandfather, and Qin Jian’s a father!!!” Zhang Yun’s excited voice was almost unrecognizable, as she finally welcomed grandsons thirty-four years after giving birth to Qin Jian.

”Indeed! These must be two healthy little tigers!” Ning Yibin joyfully declared.

”Da Long! This year is the year of the dragon! We have two great dragons!” Zhang Yun said, gripping Ning Yibin’s hand, ”An Hao is really something! She’s so capable!”

”Son! Make sure to treat your wife well later!”

”Don’t worry, Dad!”

”Old Ning, are you happy? Don’t get too excited, your heart isn’t that good...” Having finished worrying about her daughter-in-law, Zhang Yun turned her concern to her husband’s health.

”Rest assured.” Ning Yibin patted the pocket over his chest, ”I even specially packed some emergency pills when I came! But, I feel like I don’t need to take them now. I can withstand this! I’ve only heard of people being struck down by adversity, never by happiness.”

As Ning Yibin finished speaking, the door to the delivery room opened.

Two nurses, each holding a child, came out, as An Hao was pushed out on the operating table.

The doctor, not wanting the family to worry, quickly explained, ”Mother and sons are safe, but the mother exerted herself too much and almost suffered from severe exhaustion—we’ve given her an IV. Don’t worry!”

Seeing An Hao on the hospital bed, Qin Jian rushed over without even glancing at the children—grasping her raised hand tightly.

”Qin Jian...” An Hao saw Qin Jian, and tears slowly streamed from the corners of her eyes, ”Thank you... really, thank you...”

Qin Jian wiped the tears from her eyes and smoothed her disheveled hair, his eyes reddening and voice choked with emotion, ”You silly girl! Why thank me? I should be the one thanking you... thank you for giving me two sons.”

An Hao let go of his hand, touched his bloodshot eyes and the stubble on his chin, ”Thank you for always waiting for me... Go now, take a look at our children. And, stop smoking...”

”Hm?” Qin Jian was momentarily startled.

”The patient is very tired. She experienced a brief state of shock during delivery, but everything is alright now! Make sure she gets rest. When she wakes up, cook her some millet porridge, chicken soup, things like that... to replenish her strength.”

”Got it!” Qin Jian took note of everything.

An Hao was pushed back to her room; she was so exhausted that even the noise from outside seemed to drift away as she fell into a deep sleep.

Next to the hospital bed, Ning Yibin and Zhang Yun each held a child, lulling them happily.

Meanwhile, the two children cried out with wide-open mouths, wailing vigorously.

”Listen to that, my grandson’s cries are so loud, even louder than the warriors singing military songs!” Ning Yibin held the children carefully with his large hands.

”Oh my, men are really clumsy!” Zhang Yun saw Ning Yibin was not holding the baby right, handed her little treasure to Qin Jian’s arms, and then instructed Ning Yibin on how to hold a child, ”Put your elbow under the baby’s head, hand supporting the baby’s back, and the other hand supporting the waist and little bottom... This way the baby feels more comfortable, look at you, practicing with a pillow at home for half a year and still haven’t learned! Really clumsy!”
