Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1357: Chapter 1357: Past Events Rise and Fall (Part 2)

Although she was reluctant, she had agreed to her mother’s request and hastily got married.

The purpose was to reassure her, allowing her to focus on finding her sister and brother.

At the same time, with the support of her husband’s family’s wealth and connections, it was considered a new strength added to the search for her siblings.

Unexpectedly, on the night she got married, her mother hanged herself with a hemp rope.

After finishing, the old lady’s tears could not stop flowing, and the overly painful past made her unable to forget it for half a century.

”So... when you saw this bracelet, you thought my ancestors were the thieves who stole it? That’s why you told me to get out?” After he explained, An Hao understood the whole story.

It turned out that their family was looking for the bracelet for this reason.

”Now you understand why I was following you, right?” Lin Qiushu looked at her apologetically, ”It must have puzzled and depressed you for a long time. So today I told you the truth.”

”It looks like you must have gone to the Qin Family.” Qin Jian suddenly said.

”Yes,” Lin Qiushu admitted. ”I indeed went to the Qin Family and figured out the origin of the bracelet.”

”It seems that my grandparents’ generation were not the thieves who stole the bracelet.” Qin Jian hooked his lips, ”Your thoughts are really profound.”

”Sorry,” Lin Qiushu said embarrassingly, ”We had no choice! If we didn’t do it this way, we couldn’t have found the real origin of the bracelet.”

After listening to Lin Qiushu’s recount, An Hao no longer minded these matters.

Instead, she felt some sympathy for the old person in front of her.

After so many years, she was still obsessively trying to find that bracelet, which was actually a kind of fixation on her relatives.

”Then, did you find your sister or brother?” Qin Jian asked.

The old person’s expression turned heavy as she shook her head, ”No. After so long, I don’t know whether my sister and brother are still alive. But I won’t give up. As long as I live and breathe, I must find them.”

When her mother passed away, she left a suicide note full of apologies to her children, and the grief of losing her loved ones was unbearable for her.

So she chose death.

But at the time of death, her thoughts were still fixed on the two lost children.

She chose the cowardly way of death to escape, yet she hoped that her only daughter would find her brother and sister during her lifetime.

If they were still alive, she must find their descendants.

Then, they should visit her grave, burn some joss paper, and tell her about these matters.

That way, she would rest in peace.

”And the thief who stole the bracelet, you must catch him!” Lin Qiushu said resentfully.

”After all, it’s been half a century, I don’t know if he is still alive,” the old lady sighed.

People supported by faith are different from those without.

Moved by this family’s story, An Hao said to Lin Qiushu, ”Thank you for telling me all this. I will also pay attention for you, and if I come across someone related to this matter, I will definitely tell you.”

”Thank you.”

After recounting the past, An Hao returned the bracelet to the Xiao Family, ”Since the bracelet is yours, you really should take it back. However, I urgently need money...”

”No, no, no! I will still pay for the bracelet. The thief back then must have sold the bracelet, and it might have changed hands several times before it reached the Qin Family.”
