Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1396: Chapter 1396: Welcoming the Arrival of New Life

The doctor looked up at the wall clock, ”4:49 AM, a boy, 5 pounds and 6 ounces! The little guy is very strong, his cry is very loud!”

An Hao was nearly exhausted, but there was still movement in her belly, involuntary compelling her to push.

She clenched her teeth, exerting all her strength, and another cry sounded, even louder than the first.

”Wah... waaah...”

”5:20 AM, another one! Another boy! Twin boys! This is the tenth pair of twins our department has delivered this year!” the doctor said happily, seeing that the mother had passed through a difficult ordeal and given birth to healthy children, she was truly happy for them.

”Oh, these two kids really do look exactly alike!” the doctor tying the umbilical cords remarked, looking back and forth for a long time, feeling sentimental.

”Sister Liu, what a novel thing you’ve just said! How could twins not look alike?”

”Two boys...” An Hao murmured, tears streaming down from the corners of her eyes, tears of happiness, tears of fulfillment.

”Yes, two boys, so adorable... You can rest assured, if you’re tired, just close your eyes and rest, I’ll have you sent back to your family’s side.”

An Hao shook her head, her voice dry and weak, ”No... I’ll wait to be back by his side before... I can sleep.”

”Alright. Then hang in there. We’ll have you cleaned up quickly,” the doctor said.

Outside the delivery room.

Qin Jian was growing very impatient, having waited an entire night. Daybreak was starting to show outside, and An Hao still hadn’t come out; his heart had risen to his throat.

On the battlefield, having come face to face with the enemy, he had never felt this tense!

”May heaven protect us! Protect the descendants of the Ning family, ensure An Hao is safe!” Zhang Yun clasped her hands together in front of her chest and silently prayed.

Whenever his wife engaged in such superstitious behavior, Ning Yibin would not hesitate to chide her, but this time, he said nothing, just stretched out his hand and tightly embraced his wife’s shoulders.

Zhang Yun felt the sweat in the palm of his hand, soaking through her clothes.

Her husband—the Commander of the Northern Military Region—was just as nervous as she was at this moment!

He too was worried about his daughter-in-law and grandsons, afraid that something might go wrong!

”Dad! Let Mom get some rest! Your heart is not good, and after such a tense night, I’m worried about you...” Qin Jian said anxiously, looking at his father.

”No! I’m fine! I want to wait for my grandsons! I want to hold them in my arms!”

Finally, the door to the delivery room opened.

All the waiting relatives in the corridor stood up, hoping the nurse would announce news of their loved ones.

”Who is An Hao’s family?” the nurse asked.

”Me! I am!” Qin Jian dashed forward like an arrow, ”How is my wife? Has she given birth?”

The nurse, seeing a handsome lieutenant colonel standing before her, smiled at him and said, ”Congratulations, colonel, your wife has given birth to two healthy boys, mother and child are safe!”

The heavy stone in Qin Jian’s chest finally thudded to the ground, his face breaking into an excited and joyful smile, ”Thank you, doctors! Thank you all!”

”You should thank your wife; she’s truly remarkable! Just wait a little longer while we finish up, and we’ll bring out the adults and children,” the nurse said with a smile.

”Thank you!” Qin Jian said cheerfully.

Zhang Yun and Ning Yibin heard this, and the excited old couple were speechless for a moment.
