Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1388: Chapter 1388: Do We Have a Past Life Connection?

According to the old customs, a woman was not allowed to be exposed to wind or touch water during her confinement after childbirth, for fear of falling ill.

An Hao worried that if she didn’t bathe for a long time, she might start to smell, so she planned to take a bath in advance.

Qin Jian was not at ease with her being alone, so he followed her in to take care of her.

Looking at her swollen legs and feet, Qin Jian felt heartbroken.

”My wife, you’ve really had a hard time. These past few months haven’t been easy for you.” While speaking, Qin Jian’s rough hands gently washed her body.

”It’s nothing. Not hard at all! Being able to bear your child in this lifetime is a sweet and joyful thing for me.” An Hao looked at Qin Jian with a soft gaze.

”This lifetime? Are you suggesting that there was a past life between us?” Qin Jian asked with a smile.

”Yes.” An Hao knew Qin Jian wouldn’t believe her, but she still wanted to tell him about their past, ”We did have a past life. Back then, I was overbearing, thoughtless, and even violent, and I wasn’t good to you. We ended up divorcing, but I regretted it later. However, it was too late, and we could never go back.”

If she hadn’t taken that leap, she wouldn’t have been reborn.

Qin Jian looked at An Hao with a smile curling on his lips, ”Hmm. Why do you make yourself sound so terrible? And a past life? Your imagination is really rich. Maybe you should consider writing novels and submitting them to newspapers or magazines! Don’t bury such a great talent.”

”You don’t believe me?”

”I believe, of course, I believe.”

”See, you really don’t believe.”

”Why did you suddenly bring this up?” Qin Jian asked.

An Hao smiled and said, ”It’s nothing. Just something I must clarify. You need to answer honestly, no matter what your answer is, I won’t be mad. I just want to hear the truth.”

”Okay. Ask away.” Qin Jian soaped her up, washing her every inch of skin gently and meticulously.

”If we were to divorce, would you marry another woman?” An Hao asked.

Qin Jian stopped, frowning at her, ”Why? Are you thinking about getting a divorce?”

”Of course not. I’m just saying if.”

”There are no ifs, and I will never divorce you,” Qin Jian answered without a moment’s hesitation, ”Letting go of such a wonderful woman would be stupidity on my part.”

”But what if I insist on divorcing? What if I threaten suicide?”

”Why? What have I done to make you unsatisfied to the point of forcing you to divorce me by threatening with death?” Qin Jian’s eyes were piercing as he stared at her.

”I... let me rephrase that, suppose I were a very bad person, would you remarry after our divorce?” As soon as An Hao finished, fearing that Qin Jian would come up with various excuses, she quickly said, ”Don’t say anything else, just answer the question.”

”No.”

”Are you sure?” Although An Hao knew these were issues of a past life, and it might be too sentimental to ask now, she couldn’t help but ask.

There was no other reason, she just wanted to know whether Qin Jian would be sad if she were gone.

”I’m sure.”

”Why?”

”No reason. Because even if you were not good, I must have had my reasons for choosing you initially. For someone I love, I will stay committed. I’m quite stubborn and inflexible on some matters...”

”Thank you.” An Hao smiled, her eyes reddening, no matter why he married Song Yueqin in their past life, she believed he had his reasons.

”Fool. You’re about to have a child, why are you thinking about such things?” Qin Jian pulled a towel down to wipe her clean, ”Come on, be careful.”
