Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1377: Chapter 1377: A Gift for the Future Grandson

Coincidentally, the woman being treated was also quite kind, and she said to her, ”I’ve been having pain when I go to the bathroom these past few days. The doctor said it might be a urinary tract infection, and told me to get a white blood cell test.”

”Oh. I see.” As long as it’s not pregnancy, it’s fine.

Looking at this older sister, she seemed to be in her late forties; she probably wouldn’t be pregnant, right?

”And you?” the woman asked her.

”I’ve been married for two years now and haven’t had any children, so I came to see the doctor,” Yueqin said.

”Oh my, you really need to get that checked out.”

As the two of them talked, they collected their urine samples. The toilets in the town hospital were such that you could see from one end to the other, and there were no partitions between the squatting positions.

After Yueqin collected her urine and saw that the other woman had also finished, she said to her, ”Sister, what’s that by the toilet door?”

While the older sister turned her head to look at the toilet door, Yueqin switched the urine samples.

”There’s nothing there.”

”Then I must have seen wrong.” After saying that, Yueqin walked away with the urine sample.

Yueqin took the urine to the laboratory, and soon the results came out. When she returned to the doctor with the results, the doctor said, ”You’re not pregnant! You can go now.”

Only then did Junping truly feel relieved.

It was good that she wasn’t pregnant.

Yueqin also breathed a huge sigh of relief; this time, she wasn’t going to die.

Just get through this month, and next month, if she pretends to be pregnant, everything would be easier to handle. Once she actually became pregnant, wouldn’t she become the Qin Family’s treasure?

Afterward, wouldn’t all the good food and drinks come straight to her?

However, Yueqin had celebrated her victory too soon. She thought she had escaped a calamity, but it was actually just the beginning of a situation from which she couldn’t escape.

What she didn’t expect was that retribution would come so quickly, so quickly that she couldn’t even react.

....................

The cicadas on the treetops were calling with all their might; it was the end of summer and the beginning of autumn, a season soon to yield rich fruits.

An Hao lay under the plane tree with her belly showing, resting on a lounge chair, the sun casting mottled tree shadows across her clear white face through the branches.

Occasionally, a breeze would come, brushing gently against her face, and her long hair danced in the wind.

There was also a small table under the plane tree, filled with wool. Zhang Yun was busy selecting wool, planning to knit a sweater for her soon-to-be-born grandchild.

”An Hao, do you think this sky blue looks nice, or is the grass green better?” Zhang Yun lifted her head to ask.

An Hao slowly opened her eyes, a smile lingering on her lips: ”Mom, you really don’t need to start knitting their sweaters so early. They won’t be able to wear them until next year, right? There’s still over a year, why the rush?”

”That won’t do! Once the baby is born, you’ll all go back to work. I’ll be alone with the baby, certainly with no time to knit then! Preparing ahead by a day is a day gained.” Zhang Yun spoke with a smile on her face.

She was going to be a grandmother, having waited so long for it, and finally, the time was nearing for the baby to be born—she always wanted to prepare some gifts for the child, right?

And she was more than willing to do this.

For her, it was a joy and a pleasure.

”Mom, it’s not like we’re not going to take care. You should really rest. These past few months you’ve really been non-stop, making small clothes, small shoes... and Xiaohong’s belly band... You’re getting older, what if you overexert yourself?” An Hao expressed concern for her mother-in-law.
