Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1351: Chapter 1351: Show some kindness and send me on my way

Anyway, it wasn’t as if she could enter the military compound just because she wanted to.

She had already offended everyone, so where would she get the face to see them again.

”Then why don’t you stay at the guesthouse here for a couple of days!” Lin Qiushu pointed at the darkening sky and said, ”Look at how dark it is, and the rain won’t stop anytime soon.”

Li Junping calculated that staying here at the guesthouse for two days, with food and drink, would certainly cost a fair amount of money.

Now that her family was so broke that they wouldn’t even want to split a single penny into eight, where would she have the heart to spend money on a hotel?

As she was hesitating, a black sedan slowly stopped at the entrance.

A man stepped out from the car, walked into the steamed bun shop, and stood beside Lin Qiushu. He said, ”Boss, the old lady saw that it was raining and sent me to pick you up.”

”Okay. I’m having a meal with this older sister here, I’ll go back after we finish eating,” Lin Qiushu motioned for the man to wait in the car for her.

”All right.”

”Is that your family’s car?” Li Junping only knew that cars were outrageously expensive these days, not something ordinary people could afford.

It would have to be a big boss, someone rich, to be able to afford it.

”Yeah, it is,” Lin Qiushu casually replied, bowing her head and silently drinking her porridge.

Li Junping’s mind started whirring. If she could get Lin Qiushu to drive her back, it would save her the expense of both meals and lodging.

Wouldn’t that be nice?

But she was afraid Qiushu might not agree!

While Li Junping was still hesitating, Lin Qiushu finished her porridge, pushed the bowl away, and directly called the shop owner over, ”Let’s settle the bill.”

The owner glanced at the breakfast, did some quick calculations, and said, ”That’ll be twenty.”

”Oh, your breakfast is so expensive!!!!” Li Junping exclaimed in surprise, ”But we only had a few buns and two bowls of porridge, how could it cost so much?”

”Old lady, you ate the buns from Xianghe Building. These buns are not something just anyone can make,” the shop owner explained.

”What Building or no Building? I just know they’re buns, and they’re expensive!!”

Lin Qiushu laughed, opened her wallet, took out a bill, and handed it to the shop owner, ”The taste is good.”

”Thank you.” After saying this, the owner turned to Li Junping and remarked, ”See? This is a connoisseur who knows good food.”

After paying the bill, Lin Qiushu stood up, ”Older sister, I have to go back now. I’ve paid already, so you can stay here to avoid the rain a bit longer, and find a place to stay when it lessens.”

”Hey! Young lady, could you not leave? Let’s discuss something!” Li Junping said.

Lin Qiushu stopped, her lips curved slightly upwards, and she turned around, ”What is it? Older sister!”

”It’s like this... you see, I don’t have much money, and staying at a hotel with both food and drinks is too expensive. I was thinking it’s better to go back today...”

”That’s a good idea. Saves your family from worrying,” Lin Qiushu smiled.

”But... just look at this weather, how can I travel... Young lady, since you have that car, could you possibly give me a lift back?” Li Junping said, embarrassed.

”This...” Lin Qiushu looked at her, a bit troubled.

Seeing Lin Qiushu hesitate, Li Junping, afraid she wouldn’t agree to give her a lift, quickly grabbed her arm and showered her with flattering words, ”Young lady, didn’t you say I’m like your older sister? It’s fate that we met! Please, show some kindness and give me a ride, as if you were doing it for your sister!”
