Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1370: Chapter 1370: Do I Have to Raise Someone Else’s Bastard?

So Song Yueqin gritted her teeth and nodded in agreement, ”Fine, if you say we go, then we go.”

”That’s more like it. Once we get to the hospital and run a test, whether you’re pregnant or not will be clear as day,” said Li Junping.

Song Yueqin couldn’t eat anymore, she put down her chopsticks, stood up, and began to tidy up the bowls.

But she had only cleaned up half of them when she started feeling waves of cramping in her stomach.

She hurriedly put the bowls down, clutching her stomach as she ran outside: ”My stomach hurts, I need to use the toilet.”

”What a lazy donkey, always busiest grinding when it’s time to poop or pee!” Li Junping cursed under her breath, then stood up to start cleaning the pots and pans.

After clearing two bowls, she paused, feeling something was off. Song Yueqin’s reaction just now didn’t seem like that of someone pregnant. She couldn’t allow this wretch to be carrying a bastard child, embarrassing their Qin Family’s reputation.

”Qin Fen, go see what’s wrong with your wife,” Li Junping hinted to Qin Fen with her eyes.

”Why should I check on her?” Qin Fen didn’t want to go.

”Are you stupid or what? Song Yueqin’s condition just now looked just like how I was when I was carrying you guys! Could it be that she’s actually pregnant? Everyone in the village knows she’s messed around with that Yang Erdan. It’s bad enough if you’ve been cuckolded, but are you planning to raise some other man’s bastard child in the future?” said Li Junping.

The logic hit home for Qin Fen, and he leapt to his feet: ”I’m going to check on her right now. If Song Yueqin is really pregnant, I’ll make sure she has a miscarriage.”

Having said that, he ran outside.

Qin Ru Hai had become utterly disheartened by the situation at home; after all, with this mother and daughter around, life was never going to be peaceful.

Let them make trouble if they wanted to; he was done with it.

Furthermore, he didn’t acknowledge Song Yuqin as his daughter-in-law; whatever happened to her, so be it.

Song Yueqin rushed to the outhouse outside and squatted down, it was a torrential downpour.

As a child, she once accidentally ate some garlic and suffered from gastroenteritis after drinking cold water, twisting in agony from vomiting and diarrhea for two whole days.

This time, to avoid Li Junping’s suspicions, she had no choice but to resort to this tactic.

The diarrhea was relentless.

It seemed to empty out everything that was in her intestines.

The foul smell also began to waft through the air.

Qin Fen chased her to the outside of the outhouse, heard the noise inside, and smelled the stench, immediately realizing Song Yueqin had diarrhea.

He too had suffered from gastroenteritis before, indeed with vomiting and diarrhea.

It seemed Song Yueqin hadn’t lied to him, so he returned home reassured.

Back in the kitchen, Li Junping was bent over scrubbing pots.

Seeing Qin Fen return so soon, she asked, ”How is it? What’s the condition with your wife?”

”Gastroenteritis, she’s in the toilet with diarrhea.”

”Really gastroenteritis?” Li Junping muttered to herself, wondering if she had made a mistake.

Well, there was no rush anyway, she would wait and see how many days Song Yueqin’s gastroenteritis would last.

”Okay, I got it, you go rest,” said Li Junping.

Qin Fen turned and left.

After Li Junping finished using the toilet and returned to the room, she felt continuous unease in her heart.

No matter what, the fact that she was pregnant was indisputable. It seemed that she really must get the surgery done as soon as possible.

She didn’t want to end up dead without a place to be buried.

While Li Junping’s family had finished their meal, the festivities at the An Family’s were still lively and bustling.

Since An Hao had brought profit to everyone, they couldn’t help but praise her a bit.

But those who were familiar with the An Family’s situation knew that An Hao was extremely short on cash for her company.
