Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1349: Chapter 1349: We Get Along Well

Li Junping saw that Qin Jian didn’t understand her at all, yet a stranger was so empathetic.

It instantly warmed Li Junping’s heart, but at the same time, she resented both Qin Jian and An Hao.

”Miss, you’re absolutely right,” said Li Junping, pounding her chest in frustration. ”This child isn’t even my biological child; he’s my adopted son. I’ve raised him for thirty years, and thirty years of affection don’t compare to the two years of affection he has with his wife. He always considers his wife first, and even my small request was denied! It makes me so angry that I can’t stop thinking about it, and I wasn’t watching where I was going, which is how I accidentally bumped into you... I’m really sorry, Miss!”

The young girl smiled warmly, ”Look at you! The moment I saw your face, I knew you must have been preoccupied with something on your mind! Otherwise, you wouldn’t have walked straight into me.”

”Oh, you are really understanding. If only my daughter-in-law were as wonderful as you, I would be incredibly blessed,” Li Junping said.

”Big sister, you’re making me so happy with your words.”

”I’m not flattering you, you really are that great,” Li Junping continued, feeling even more disappointed in An Hao.

”Big sister, since you think I’m good, that means we were meant to meet. I’m Lin Qiushu; you can call me Qiushu! Look at the weather, it’s getting gloomy. Looks like it’s going to rain soon, let’s find a place to sit and chat,” Lin Qiushu said with a smile.

”Um...” Li Junping hesitated, ”Is that okay?”

”What’s not okay about it? Meeting is fate! You have such a kind face, just like my sister! I’d love to sit and chat with you. Come on, it’s time for breakfast, let’s eat together!” Lin Qiushu invited her warmly.

Seeing her sincerity, and being warmed by their brief conversation, Li Junping nodded in agreement, ”Alright, let’s go.”

Lin Qiushu led Li Junping to a quiet spot in a roadside bun shop, and they ordered two baskets of buns and two bowls of porridge.

As the steaming buns arrived, Lin Qiushu immediately took one and placed it in front of Li Junping, ”This place makes good soup dumplings. Big sister, try one, they’re really tasty.”

”Ah,” Li Junping took a bite, and the soup splashed out, staining Lin Qiushu’s clothes.

”Oh my, I’m so sorry!” she quickly took a handkerchief from her pocket and began dabbing at Lin Qiushu’s clothes, ”Look at me... a country person who has never eaten these things, I didn’t know the bun could squirt out like that.”

”It’s okay,” Lin Qiushu smiled. ”These are soup dumplings; you should nibble a small hole, gently sip the soup, and then eat it.”

”Oh, now I know,” she said.

While talking, Lin Qiushu placed another bun on her plate, ”Big sister, come to the city more often when you’re free. Come see me, and I’ll take you around. We can chat more too.”

”Okay,” Li Junping readily agreed, but she was a bit puzzled as to why Lin Qiushu was being so nice to her, ”Big sister, we don’t even know each other, why are you...?”

”Why am I so nice to you, right?” Lin Qiushu said, smiling.

”Yeah, that’s what I mean.”

”To tell you the truth, I really feel like we hit it off. You look a lot like my deceased older sister...” Lin Qiushu casually made up.
