Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1310: Chapter 1310: The Malicious Curse

An Hao marched swiftly forward, belly outthrust, and stood at the doorway. Her gaze swept over the group of schadenfreudists as she said coldly, ”Enjoy watching other people’s misfortunes, do you? Monk Zhang, Monk Li, your turn will come sooner or later! Don’t get ahead of yourselves with your laughter; who knows who will be crying the loudest in the end!”

”Heavens truly do have eyes!” Song Yueqin’s mother, Zhang Juyun, was also among the crowd. Upon hearing An Hao’s words, she stepped forward and said, ”Your family deserves it! The disaster that has befallen the An Family is undeniably related to you! You’ve been finding ways to bully our Yueqin all along! Now it’s Heaven’s retribution for your deeds!”

”If Song Yueqin hadn’t provoked me, I certainly wouldn’t have troubled her! She brought this upon herself!”

”Pah!” Zhang Juyun had long held a grudge against the An Family, and seizing the opportunity, she didn’t restrain from hurling insults, ”The worst of the An Family is you! Don’t be so smug now. You’ve become wealthy and married a Commander’s son! But let me tell you, you can’t have all the good fortune to yourself!”

”Whether I can have all the good things to myself isn’t up to you to decide! The road is made by walking, and you reap what you sow!” What she meant was clear: Song Yueqin had it coming.

”Fine, fine, fine, you have a sharp tongue and I can’t win an argument with you!” Zhang Juyun said before her gaze fell on An Hao’s stomach, and with malice, she said, ”I wish that your child will be born sickly and not live long! Let all the sins of your family fall upon this child!”

An Hao’s complexion changed dramatically at her words. Xiaoliu, upon hearing this, quickly stepped forward, grabbed Zhang Juyun out of the crowd and said, ”If you spout any more nonsense, I’ll beat you!”

Zhang Juyun was startled at first, but after regaining her composure she began to shout loudly, ”Everyone look, the PLA soldier is going to hit me! Has this place become the An Family’s kingdom? Has the PLA become the An Family’s lackey?”

Hearing this, Xiaoliu’s face turned livid with anger and he clenched his fist, ready to strike Zhang Juyun, but An Hao stopped him, ”Don’t hit her! If you do, you’ll break your discipline!”

”Sister-in-law, just listen to how wicked she is!” Even someone as good-tempered as Xiaoliu was infuriated.

An Hao cleared her throat and called out loudly, ”An Ping! Come out!”

An Ping, who was inside the house, heard his sister’s call at the door and hurried out, putting down what he was holding.

Upon seeing the crowd gathered around and Xiaoliu holding Zhang Juyun’s clothes, he immediately understood, ”Sis, did she say something?”

”She cursed your sister-in-law’s child to have problems,” Xiaoliu responded for An Hao.

”An Ping! Drive all these gossipmongers away and throw Zhang Juyun out!” An Hao commanded angrily.

”Roger that!” As soon as An Ping heard her, he snatched a stick from the woodpile by the doorway and charged into the crowd.

As people ran away, they shouted, ”The An Family’s girl sure has become something! She even dares to hit the elders in the village!”

”It’s you I’m hitting, for not respecting your elders!” She couldn’t tolerate everything; those who were kind to her, she would remember for a lifetime.

As for those who treated her badly, she would return tit for tat! She was never soft-hearted!

With someone like Zhang Juyun, she could show even less mercy – give them an inch and they’d take a mile.

An Ping swung his club and scattered the crowd, giving Zhang Juyun a few solid hits, while the rest were simply chased away.

Once the doorway was quiet, An Hao finally returned home.
