Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1339: Chapter 1339: A Long-Cherished Wish About to Come True

Lin Qiushu saw that Qin Jian was angry and quickly apologized to An Hao, ”I’m very sorry, my grandma scared you. She didn’t mean to do it! She’s old and her emotions aren’t always under control.”

”It’s okay.” An Hao waved his hand, ”No harm done, I was just startled.”

”I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!” Lin Qiushu kept apologizing to An Hao, and even had an employee bring a chair over, ”Please sit down and rest for a bit! I need to have a word with my grandma. I’ll be out shortly!”

”All right.” An Hao nodded.

”I hope you can keep a handle on your emotions. Think of my wife’s feelings,” Qin Jian said seriously and with a stern face.

In the army, he was a soldier, but at home, he was a husband!

How could he stand by and watch someone scold his wife so fiercely in front of him?

”Okay. Rest assured! We will be careful,” Lin Qiushu said with an apologetic face.

The old lady held the bracelet tightly in her hand, still emotional, but after Qin Jian’s words, she realized her own lapse.

However, calming those emotions was not something easily achieved.

”Grandma, come with me,” Lin Qiushu said, holding the old lady’s arm, and led her slowly to the back.

The two entered the private resting room of the Jade Store, with the old lady’s expression still one of fury, tears in her eyes, stubbornly refusing to fall.

”Grandma, this is the bracelet, isn’t it?” Lin Qiushu could already confirm.

The old woman nodded fiercely, ”Yes! It is indeed this bracelet!”

This bracelet was created by a renowned artisan during the Republic of China period, crafted from a piece of exquisite jade. After the bracelet was finished, the old craftsman specifically left a mark on the inner wall of the bracelet.

It was a unique mark.

Not every jade bracelet would have this mark. The mark served as the artisan’s ’business card,’ and not every craftsman could create such a ’business card.’

It had to preserve the beauty of the bracelet, not affect the quality of the jade, and not be easily found by others.

Moreover, the mark on this bracelet also bore a name. It was because of this name that the jade bracelet became one of a kind!

”That’s wonderful. Grandma, your long-cherished wish is going to come true...” Lin Qiushu was moved as well; this was something her grandmother had yearned for half her life, and after wandering halfway around the world, they had returned to their homeland.

For the past two years, she hadn’t ceased traveling within the country. Without any clues, today seemed to be an act of providence, finally bringing the jade bracelet back before her grandmother’s eyes.

”It’s too early to celebrate! The bracelet has returned, but the people and events behind it, I haven’t been able to unravel. That’s my real trouble!” the old lady said, clutching the bracelet so tightly that sweat started showing between her fingers.

”Grandma, don’t get worked up! You were too agitated just now, and even gave me a scare. We need to take this slowly, right?”

”It must be someone from their family! It must be! I’ll risk my life to find that person! Expose them!” the old lady said, her cloudy tears streaming down her face.

”Grandma! After so many years, the world has undergone countless changes, how can you be so sure that it was An Hao’s in-laws who committed this injustice just based on a bracelet? An Hao seems to be a good person...”

Lin Qiushu hadn’t finished speaking when the old lady cut her off: ”Her being good doesn’t mean her in-laws are good as well.”
