Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1302: Chapter 1302: What Kind of Love Potion Have You Been Given

”What? Wait for him for two years?” Feng Yuzhi exploded upon hearing this, ”That guy is really slippery! Is he definitely going to marry you if you wait?”

”How could I know that for sure?” Yan Huan replied casually.

”What? Wait for two years? And still not sure if he’ll marry you? Have you lost your mind?” Feng Yuzhi was so angry she poked Yan Huan’s forehead with her finger, ”Haven’t you even considered how old you are? Do you really plan on becoming an old maid!! How old will he be after two more years? He can afford to wait, but can you afford to wait? Oh, this is really going to be the death of me!”

”Isn’t he facing difficulties right now? Given the current situation, how can you ask him to bring up leaving Jiangning with his parents? Before, he said he couldn’t come to Nancheng, but now he says he has sought his parents’ opinion. If his parents agree, he will come over! This is progress and change! Don’t you think I should wait for a bit? Besides, even if something changes after two years, it doesn’t matter! At least I will have tried!” Yan Huan spoke earnestly, word by word.

Feng Yuzhi was stumped by Yan Huan’s reply: ”What love potion has that boy given you?”

When the heart isn’t stirred, it remains still; once it is stirred, it’s uncontrollable!

”Mom! He and I have agreed to not worry about tomorrow and to cherish the present, to truly love wholeheartedly!” Yan Huan said.

”You might as well just kill me! I’m telling you, this is not going to work! If his parents can’t make a commitment, I won’t let you be with him,” Feng Yuzhi clenched her teeth, she couldn’t let Yan Huan end up heartbroken in two years.

”Alright, Mom! Go cook, will you? It’s not easy to get a weekend off, and now you want to starve to death!” After speaking, Yan Huan patted Feng Yuzhi’s shoulder and walked upstairs.

”Yan Huan!!!!!!”

After work, Cheng Yue deliberately stayed a little later and called home.

The person who answered the phone was none other than Cheng Yue’s mother, Qi Siyuan.

After so many days without a call, suddenly hearing from her son filled Qi Siyuan with joy, her voice brimming with happiness, ”Yuyu, you finally called home. How is it going? Is your internship going smoothly?”

”It’s going smoothly! Pretty good!” Cheng Yue said, ”Mom! Can I discuss something with you?”

”Sure! Of course you can! What is it that you want to discuss?” asked Qi Siyuan softly.

”Good news. It’s about the Cheng Family’s good news!” Cheng Yue cautiously led into the subject with his mother.

He needed to prepare his mother, in case she couldn’t handle the news.

”Such big good news? Come on, spill it and let me also share in the joy!” After all, ever since Cheng Yu passed away, the family had been shrouded in gloom.

”Mom... I’ve found you a daughter-in-law! She’s beautiful, sensible, and comes from an especially good family background. One can say she’s a perfect match for me!” Cheng Yue said.

Qi Siyuan was ecstatic to hear that her son had someone in mind, ”Oh my! Really? That’s wonderful! When will you come back and bring her home for your dad and me to meet?”

”That... is a bit difficult...”

Seeing her son’s hesitation, Qi Siyuan quickly pressed, ”What’s the matter? What difficulty?”

”She can only stay in Nancheng City, she can’t leave Nancheng! She has been acclimated to the water and soil of Nancheng since she was a child! Or to say, to the water and soil of the North! She’s afraid she won’t be able to adapt if she goes to the South!” Cheng Yue cautiously revealed a bit more information.
