Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 339: Zhang Hanzi And Her Family

After they left Zhang Chenʼs house, Zhang Fei took Guo Lan to the Sky Jade Shop, especially since Zhong Yan and Yang Luʼer needed help organizing many items they brought from the Sky Jade Realm.

Yang Luʼer told Zhang Fei that they had already gotten information about Lei Junʼs whereabouts, but his condition was not good, and he had been living in a mental hospital for several years. Moreover, they isolated him from the crowd in a special room due to his frequent chaos and repeated attacks on the officers.

Additionally, Yang Luʼer informed Zhang Fei about her and Huang Rongʼs plans to expand the Sky Jade Shop by opening several branches in other cities. They made this decision because of the current shopʼs inability to accommodate more customers, as well as the demand from customers who came from outside the city.

Since Yang Luʼer and Huang Rong would be taking care of all of that, Zhang Fei immediately agreed to their idea, and he asked Zhong Yan to buy more items when they returned to the Sky Jade Realm later, so they could stock up the shops.

After they discussed several things, Zhang Fei decided to go to the mental hospital and left Guo Lan at the Sky Jade Shop. He hoped to cure Lei Jun before reuniting him with his aunt, Zhang Hanzi.

However, Yang Luʼer continued to laugh and lecture Guo Lan, particularly because she had spent a significant amount of time with Zhang Fei and they still hadnʼt done the deed, which left her feeling quite irritated.

Zhong Yan was forced to mediate between them and explain to Yang Luʼer that she was indeed not ready for that, and she asked her to stop forcing Guo Lan to give herself to Zhang Fei, which she immediately stopped.

In just a few minutes, Zhang Fei had already arrived at the mental hospital, and one of the officers immediately took him to Lei Junʼs room.

Before he entered the room, the officer warned Zhang Fei to be careful of Lei Jun, so he nodded and entered. However, when he saw the old man lying helplessly on the bed, especially since he had to be tied to it, his expression turned to pity, and IV fluids continued to flow through the tube into his body to keep him from becoming dehydrated.

Zhang Fei knew Lei Jun was slightly older than Zhang Chen because of his status, but their situations were clearly opposite, especially since his grandmother lived surrounded by people who always loved her, and she was a strong woman, so she never submitted to her fate, even though she had to bear the shame of having a child out of wedlock.

[This old manʼs condition is really bad, master. Your light qi can indeed help him recover from his physical condition, but it cannot help him heal from his mental state, especially given his complete breakdown. If you want to restore his mental health, then the only solution is to use your memory manipulation ability on him.]

Zhang Fei nodded in agreement with Mei, but he did not want to change Lei Junʼs memories, especially since a personʼs memories are important to that person, whether they are good or bad memories.

Zhang Fei then sat down beside Lei Jun and placed a normal healing pill in his mouth, which was more than sufficient for an ordinary human like him. He then channeled his light qi into his body, dissolving the pill before dispersing it throughout his body. Moreover, his light qi has a beneficial effect on an ordinary man, and it can also rejuvenate his body.

After Lei Junʼs condition looked much better and fresher, Zhang Fei decided to use his memory manipulation ability on him, but he didnʼt do anything to his old memories.

After that, Zhang Fei decided to wake Lei Jun up, especially since he didnʼt want to cause panic in that mental hospital if he took him away in secret, so he wanted to take him away in the right way.

Not long after, Lei Jun finally opened his eyes, but he immediately looked at Zhang Fei in confusion, especially since he didnʼt recognize him. ”Who are you? Have we known each other before?”

”No.” Zhang Fei shook his head at Lei Jun. ”Anyway, my name is Zhang Fei, and I am Zhang Chenʼs grandson.”

”Zhang Chen... Zhang Chen...” Lei Jun muttered the name twice as he searched through his memories of him, and he finally found her. ”Ahh! I remember her; she was my old friend and my late wife, but I didnʼt expect that she already had such an old grandson.”

Zhang Fei just smiled upon hearing that, and he immediately untied the rope around Lei Junʼs body. ”Old man, your daughter has been looking for you for decades, but she has never been able to find you because your family sent you to this mental hospital. Fortunately, I have many acquaintances, and they helped me find your whereabouts, so I came here to cure you before taking you to meet her.”

Since Zhang Fei did not change his old memories, Lei Jun could naturally remember all those events, and he immediately cried as soon as he remembered his daughter. He hadnʼt even given his daughter a name after her birth, particularly because he was completely devastated upon hearing of his wifeʼs death, which filled him with deep regret.

Zhang Fei sighed in his heart, seeing Lei Jun in such a state, but he chose not to disturb him, allowing him to express his sadness and frustration.

After some time, Lei Jun finally stopped crying, and Zhang Fei directly helped him to sit on the side of the bed. ”What is my daughterʼs name? Where is she now? Is she okay?”

”Since you and your deceased wife were good friends with my grandmother, she decided to adopt your daughter, whom she named Zhang Hanzi.” Lei Jun looked surprised and grateful at the same time after hearing Zhang Feiʼs answer. ”She lives in Hainan with her husband and their children, so I will take you there to reunite with them.”

”Will... will Hanzi and his family accept me? I... I am such an irresponsible father, and I have abandoned her since she was just born.”

Zhang Fei could hear the fear and worry in Lei Junʼs voice, but he spoke to reassure him. ”Old man, my grandma has already told Aunt Hanzi everything, and she never blamed you. If she blamed you, then she would never look for you, right? Instead, she fully understood your feelings for your late wife, and her death made you fall into despair.

Moreover, she is a kind-hearted woman, and her family is also very kind. Thatʼs why you donʼt need to worry about them; they will surely welcome you with open arms. All right, wait a moment, and I will call a doctor to check your condition, so we can leave this place immediately after that.”

After Zhang Fei left, Lei Jun looked around the room before letting out a heavy sigh, and he gripped the bed tightly as his mouth continued to mumble incoherently. However, the expression shows fear, impatience, and various other feelings.

Before long, Zhang Fei had returned with a male doctor, and he was really shocked when he saw Lei Junʼs condition, so he rushed over to check on him.

However, the doctor was even more shocked when Lei Jun, who had been insane for decades, suddenly returned to normal, and he could even talk to and understand him without any difficulty. The doctor then turned suspicious of Zhang Fei because his changes occurred after his arrival, but he just smiled at him.

After the doctor checked Lei Junʼs condition and confirmed his health, he allowed Zhang Fei to take him home, especially after Huang Rong had called. He asked her to call the mental hospital, so it would be easier for him to take the old man away.

After they left the mental hospital, Zhang Fei immediately took the old man away to a quiet place, which confused Lei Jun. ”Old man, I really donʼt want to show my abilities to ordinary humans like you, but I donʼt have much time to relax, and I still have a lot of things to take care of.

Thatʼs why Iʼll use my abilities to take you to Hainan now, and you better hold on tight or youʼll fall from a height.”

Without waiting for Lei Jun to answer, Zhang Fei immediately enveloped him with his aura and took him flying into the sky, especially since he would not be able to withstand the pressure if he used the nine cloud steps. Even so, it is not a big problem for him, especially since his flying speed is quite fast, and the distance from the city to Hainan is also not too far.

Lei Jun, who was shocked by this, immediately held onto Zhang Fei tightly. He didnʼt want to die before he met his daughter and family, but he couldnʼt stop wondering about him.

In less than thirty minutes, they had arrived in Hainan, and Zhang Fei brought Lei Jun to land in a deserted place before taking him to Zhang Hanziʼs house.

However, Lei Jun continued to hold Zhang Feiʼs hand firmly, especially since he was afraid that he would feel disappointed if Zhang Hanzi and her family rejected him.

Not long after, they arrived at a simple house that was neither too small nor too big, and it was surrounded by a beautiful flower garden. Zhang Hanzi and her husband really liked simplicity, even though they were actually very rich.

”Letʼs go in, old man. Theyʼll be thrilled to meet you.” Zhang Fei led the trembling Lei Jun into the house and knocked on the door while making a call. ”Aunt Hanzi! Uncle Ming Han! Itʼs me, Feiʼer. I came here to bring a surprise for you both.”

*Crack*

Instead, the one who opened the door was a young man around 18 years old, and a young girl around 16 years old followed behind him, both of whom were Ming Han and Zhang Hanziʼs children.

The young man was no less handsome than Zhang Fei before he became a cultivator, and he had a fairly tall body of around 5ʼ11”. However, his body was slimmer, and his athleticism was comparable to that of a professional athlete.

The young girl, with a lovely face and a childish demeanor, donned a brown t-shirt and brown shorts for a sporty look. She had long brown hair with bangs; the back was tied up; and she was wearing a headphone. Her body was also quite tall, at around 5ʼ7”. She was too slim, and her B-cup breasts looked good, even though she was still very young.

The young girlʼs eyes lit up as soon as she saw Zhang Fei, and she immediately jumped up to hug him while screaming loudly. ”Big Brother Fei! You are so mean! You havenʼt visited me in so long!”

Unlike his sister, the young man was more curious about Lei Jun, especially since his mother had never met him, let alone him, so he didnʼt recognize his grandfather.

”Haha.” Zhang Fei laughed and rubbed the young girlʼs head. ”Sorry, Yanyu. Iʼve been too busy lately, so I havenʼt had the chance to visit you before. Thatʼs why I came here now because I wanted to see all of you, and I brought a surprise for you guys.”

”Huh?” Ming Yanyu was taken back for a moment before releasing her embrace from Zhang Fei, and she then turned to Lei Jun while looking at him in confusion. ”Who is this old man, Big Brother Fei? Why did you bring him here?”

”He-”

Before Zhang Fei could answer Ming Yanyuʼs question, Zhang Hanzi suddenly ran out from inside the house, and she immediately shifted her daughter to the side before hugging him. ”Feiʼer! How are you? I havenʼt seen you for quite a while, so I really miss you.”

Zhang Fei himself felt thrilled to meet Zhang Hanzi, especially since she was one of the people who always treated him well and believed in him, just like his grandmother and maternal aunt.

”Iʼm fine, Aunt Hanzi.” Zhang Fei responded by hugging Zhang Hanzi back while also glancing at Ming Han, who was smiling at them. ”Long time no see, Uncle Han.”

”Yeah, long time no see. Iʼm glad youʼre here; Yuʼer and Haoʼer have been asking for you too many times.” Ming Han nodded to Zhang Fei before looking at Lei Jun. ”Feiʼer, is he as I think he is?”

When she heard her husbandʼs question, Zhang Hanzi instantly released Zhang Fei and turned her gaze to Lei Jun, her eyes trembling at the sight of his face. Although she had never met her biological father, she could still recognize him immediately, especially since their faces were so similar, and tears fell from her eyes. ”Father, is this really you?”

Lei Jun was already crying as soon as he saw the daughter he had left behind for so long. He opened his mouth to answer Zhang Hanziʼs question, but not a single word came out.

Ming Hao and Ming Yanyu exchanged looks of shock, and they did not expect that the old man standing in front of them was their maternal grandfather, especially since their mother had told them that his condition was very bad after the death of their maternal grandmother. Moreover, their mother had been searching for him for so long to no avail, but he was now standing in front of them.

Seeing them like that, Zhang Fei immediately spoke to Zhang Hanzi. ”Aunt Hanzi, he is indeed your father, Lei Jun. I asked Huang Rong and Yang Luʼer for help in finding him, so I went to see him after they told me that they had found him, and I brought him here right away. Anyway, it would be better if we talked inside, so you two could talk in a calmer atmosphere.”
