Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 337: Ozʼs Revelation

Instantly, the white Amarisʼs memories filled Zhang Xiaolongʼs mind, and he immediately knew the location of the portal connecting the Diyu Realm and the Tian Realm. ʼOzʼs soul manipulation ability is too terrifying.ʼ

[Why donʼt you just mimic his ability, Master? If you use that ability, you will become even more overpowered, and almost no living being can match you.]

ʼMei, he has lived for more than ten thousand years, and he is the second demon emperor, remember? As for me, I am still 19 years old, and my soul level is still at the early stage mortal level, so I will never be able to use it on those who are stronger than me.

Nevertheless, youʼre correct; thereʼs no harm in mimicking his ability now, and it will be useful for me in the future.ʼ Zhang Xiaolong immediately touched Ozʼs hand and mimicked his ability.

[You succeeded in mimicking the soul manipulation of a celestial demon named Oz.]

Oz raised his eyebrows for a moment as he felt something he didnʼt understand, but he immediately ignored it and asked Zhang Xiaolong. ”How did it go? Have you found the place?”

”Yeah.” Zhang Xiaolong immediately informed Oz and Virgil. ”The portal is located in the Death Valley, and it is protected by the sand demon snake, who lives in the desert before that place, so no one can find it.”

After Zhang Xiaolong said that, the white Amarisʼ expression turned even paler, especially since her cover would be revealed if they went there, and she was really afraid that Oz would punish her harshly. ʼDamn it! Why am I this unlucky?ʼ

”The death valley, huh?” Oz muttered to himself as he looked at the white Amaris with sharpened eyes.

Virgil abruptly grasped Ozʼs hand and inquired with a serious expression. ”Why are you disguised as Zygoz?”

”Oh?” Oz immediately turned to Virgil. ”You noticed, huh?”

”Yes.” Virgil nodded to him. ”I am familiar with Zygozʼs abilities, but he does not have the ability to manipulate souls like that. According to my memory, there is only one demon with such an ability, and he is the one who brought me to this realm. Isnʼt that right, Oz, the second demon emperor?”

”What?” After Virgil said that name, the white Amaris screamed loudly, and she glared at Oz with curiosity, fear, and other feelings.

”Hahaha!” Oz laughed out loud as he returned to his true form, making the white Amaris in the cage move backwards as her body trembled after learning the truth. ”Actually, I had expected that you would recognize me, Virgil. Unfortunately, I have no other choice but to use my abilities, especially since this kid canʼt do it himself.

Regardless, Zygoz and I reached a consensus to do this after uncovering some clues linking the people from the Tian Realm to the disappearance of my predecessor, as well as discovering remnants of their light aura in our domain hundreds of years ago. Thatʼs why I faked my disappearance, and I sent him to the human realm.”

Ozʼs response did not surprise Virgil, especially since she had long suspected that members of her race were responsible for the disappearance of the first demon emperor. Regrettably, their guesses were unsubstantiated due to the lack of concrete evidence.

Oz turned his attention to the white Amaris before continuing his conversation with Virgil. ”Our suspicions proved correct; those people were indeed the masterminds behind my predecessorʼs disappearance, and she assisted them in doing so. Unfortunately, he was not in their hands, and she sent him to a place unknown to us.”

”Hmm?” After Oz revealed the matter, Virgil immediately turned to the white Amaris, who looked frightened. ”How could she do that? The first demon lord is much stronger than you, so he should be able to stop her easily, and he will definitely kill her.”

Oz answered by shaking his head. ”After all, my predecessor loved and pampered her and her sister, so I thought that he didnʼt have the heart to do something to her, even though he knew about her actions.”

”Actually, youʼre right about that.” Oz and Virgil immediately turned to Zhang Xiaolong. ”At first, I was also confused about the matter after Dou Luotian and Micah told me about the white Amarisʼ involvement in the first demon emperorʼs disappearance, especially since she was too weak to be able to do that to him.

However, I finally found out the truth from her memories, and he didnʼt intend to do anything to her. Before the artifact sucked him in, he first released the ten seeds from his body, especially since they were the source of his power, and he wanted the other demons to inherit them. She tried to catch one of them, but she failed to do so.”

”Does that mean the black Amaris also know about this matter? After all, the two of them were almost inseparable in the past, so I thought so.” Virgil inquired as her gaze shifted back to the white Amaris.

”No.” Zhang Xiaolong denied Virgilʼs guess. ”Before she used the artifact on the first demon lord, she had already used something on the black Amaris, which caused her to fall into a deep sleep. You shouldnʼt be confused about her actions towards her sister, especially since she has a strong ambition to become the next demon emperor, and she doesnʼt want to share the position with her sister.

Moreover, the people of the Tian Realm promised her that she would be the sole ruler of this realm as long as she obeyed them, so she accepted their offer to conspire with them.”

Virgil nodded in understanding as she muttered to herself. ”Be it humans, demons, or winged races, none of them can escape the snare of worldly desires, especially greed. The black Amaris deeply cares for and loves her because they are twins, but the white Amaris treats her actually like that just for the sake of her ambition.”

”Hahaha.” Zhang Xiaolong laughed at Virgilʼs words, especially since he himself had been in the same situation as the black Amaris, and his big brother framed him just because he always felt jealous of him. ”Unlike the first demon lord, if I were in his position, I would kill this woman on the spot as soon as she tried to do such a thing to me.”

”I agree with you.” Oz said this as he nodded. Regrettably, my predecessor differed from us, particularly due to his kindness and gentle nature, which prevented him from doing any harm. Anyway, it would be better if we took her away to that place right now to contact them, so we can capture that winged race named Theo, and I will immediately destroy the portal.”

Virgil immediately released the white Amaris from her cage, but she struggled to break free, so she held her tightly. Once Oz transformed back into Zygoz, they immediately took her to the sub-realm.

When they arrived, Zhang Xiaolong opened his map, confirmed the location of the death valley, and immediately enveloped the three of them with his aura. He then took them there using the nine cloud steps, shocking them with his speed, especially since they could arrive between the desert and the death valley in just a few seconds—a feat even Oz couldnʼt accomplish.

Despite this, Oz and Virgil didnʼt ask anything as Zhang Xiaolong scanned the surrounding area, searching for the location of the sand demon snake and Nauvia the siren.

”Are you thinking about killing the sand demon snake?” Oz suddenly asked Zhang Xiolong.

”Yeah.” Zhang Xiaolong nodded toward Oz. ”Thereʼs something I need to accomplish, and the sand demon snake is my target.”

”I will help you with that.” Oz immediately released a small amount of his demon aura in order to summon the sand demon snake.

In just a matter of seconds, the sand demon snake immediately came out of the pile of sand in the desert, especially since no demon could resist the aura of a demon emperor. However, its appearance left Zhang Xiaolong stunned for a moment, especially since it had four legs like a lizard and a comodo dragon head instead of a snake.

The sand demon snake instantly cowered in fear as it looked at Oz, but he then searched at the white Amaris for help, especially since she was its master. Unfortunately, she was in a tight situation and couldnʼt even save herself, let alone save it.

Oz then asked Zhang Xiaolong again. ”Are you sure you can kill it? This sand demon snake has nearly reached duke rank, so itʼs stronger than you.”

”Haha.” Zhang Xiaolong laughed and summoned Boitata again, making Oz shake his head helplessly, especially since he had seen her before in Virgilʼs sub-realm and knew that she was strong; not even he could defeat her. ”I canʼt kill the snake, but my wife can do it easily.”

Unlike Oz and Virgil, the white Amaris is completely shocked by the appearance of Boitata, which makes her realize that her fate is sealed.

The three demons were ignored by Boitata, who looked at the sand demon snake. ”Husband, Iʼve seen various kinds of snake beasts, but this is the first time Iʼve seen a snake with four legs, and the shape of its head is also really weird.”

”That snake head is the head of a comodo dragon, and it may not exist in cultivation worlds, but there are many of them in my home realm, especially on Comodo Island in Indonesia.” Zhang Xiaolong then ordered Boitata. ”You can kill the snake now so I can handle the other issues.”

Boitata immediately returned to her dragon-serpent form, which not only frightened the sand demon snake, but her beast form also frightened the other three demons, including Oz.

Without wasting any time, Boitata immediately wrapped her tail around the sand demon snake, brought it to the front of her mouth, and swallowed it alive, causing two consecutive notifications to appear inside Zhang Xiaolongʼs head.

ʼHmm? Thereʼs a follow-up quest, huh?ʼ Zhang Xiaolong then asked Oz. ”Where can I find the berserk cockatrice demon?”

”Oh?” Oz turned to Zhang Xiaolong in surprise. ”If you want to look for the berserk cockatrice demon, then you can go to Tauriʼs sub-realm, and that beastʼs nest is in the eastern part of his sub-realm. That demon beast is a little stronger than the sand demon snake, but itʼs not a big deal for your wife.”

”I see.” Zhang Xiaolong nodded in understanding. ”Iʼm not in a rush with that, so Iʼll go to Tauriʼs sub-realm later, and it would be better if we settled matters in this sub-realm first.”

Boitata quickly returned to her human form before speaking to Zhang Xiaolong. ”Husband! The demon snakeʼs taste is quite good, so I want to find and eat other demon beasts. Unfortunately, there are no more powerful demon beasts in this sub-realm, so you will have to take me to the sub-realms of the other demon rulers.”

Zhang Xiaolong smiled bitterly at her words, especially since Boitata never liked demons, but she now wanted to eat other demon beasts. ”All right, I will take you to the other sub-realms later.”

After he sent Boitata into the beast space, Zhang Xiaolong immediately led Virgil and Oz to the location of the portal, and the second demon lord forced the white Amaris to open the seal there.

The white Amaris helplessly complied with Ozʼs orders, leading them to the deepest area of the place, and she immediately played the golden trumpet to summon Theo. ʼSigh! Iʼve planned everything for hundreds of years, but all my plans went awry, and all this happened because of this bastard male human.ʼ

After they waited for a while, the golden portal glowed brightly, and Theo unknowingly walked out of it only to fall into a trap.

As soon as he appeared, Oz immediately ambushed Theo and pressed him to the floor, which shocked him. He immediately looked at the white Amaris with a furious look, and she responded to his gaze with a helpless shake of her head. ʼDamn it! This demon is stupid! How could these demons have discovered our plan?ʼ

”Theo, right?” Virgil inquired as she squatted beside him, removing the golden-white helmet from his head. ”I didnʼt expect that Heavenʼs guards would be involved in this matter, which means Moraes was the one who ordered you, right?”

”Virgil! You traitor!” Theo shouted angrily as he struggled to break free, but he was certainly no match for Oz, leaving him helpless under his pressure.

”Hehe.” Virgil chuckled at that. ”Unlike you guys, I have no interest or ambition to take over the other realms, and instead, I hope that all living beings in the four realms can coexist once again, like in the distant past. Unfortunately, our higher-ups have been blinded by their greed, and they were overly ambitious to become the sole ruler of all realms.

Thatʼs why I decided to leave our realm, and the second demon lord had the same hopes as me, so I decided to move to this realm and become a demon.”

”You bitch!” Theo once again cursed at Virgil. ”Do you think the disappearance of the second demon lord can stop us from taking over this realm? Soon! We will attack this realm and slaughter all of those disgusting creatures! As for you, the throne has prepared a harsh punishment for you, and you will definitely suffer until you die.”

The white Amaris wanted to tell Theo the truth, but Oz immediately glared at her while pressing her, making her swallow back her words.

Virgil shook her head at Theo. ”It would be better to think about your fate than mine, especially since you will suffer before me.”
