Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 305: Eastern Desert

After receiving the news from one of his loyalists, Shen Haoran immediately went to the warehouse and tasted the powder for himself. Similar to his loyalists, he did not experience unusual sensations from the powder, but rather, he tasted a sweet flavor.

Zhang Fei himself had expected that someone might notice Shen Shixiʼs actions, especially with the tight surveillance in the tower. Thatʼs why he selectively selected the poison seed, and its effect will not work immediately. In fact, without a trigger, the effect will never work, so they will never realize that it is poison.

”Do you feel anything different in your body after tasting it?”

”No.” Shen Haoranʼs subordinate responded by shaking his head. ”Itʼs been a few minutes since I tasted it, but I still donʼt feel anything in my body, so Iʼm confused about the effects and purpose of your sister sprinkling it into our supplies.”

”Did you see anyone coming to see Shixi, or did she meet anyone else before she came here?” Once again, the man shook his head at Shen Haoran, especially since Zhang Fei used his invisibility when meeting Shen Shixi, so no one noticed his presence in her room.

”Thatʼs weird! There are only two people who can escape your surveillance, but Iʼm sure that theyʼll never do such a thing.”

”Are you referring to Shen Huang and Shen Xinya?”

”Yes.” Shen Haoran nodded to the man. ”They have powerful concealment artifacts, so nobody can detect their presence, and they may be in this sect by now. However, they are not the type of people who would use underhanded methods, so I am sure that they would not have ordered Shixi to do this.

Shen Xueyi and her loyalists cannot divert your surveillance unless they are in their respective rooms, as the formations protecting them effectively block our senses.”

”Have you contacted Zhiyu Fengzhi to check this powder?”

”We both know that Zhiyu Fengzhi is one of Shen Xueyiʼs loyalists, so thereʼs no point in inviting him if he wonʼt tell us the truth.” Shen Haoran then used his qi to get rid of all the powder, but unfortunately, he did not realize that he had fallen into Zhang Feiʼs trap as soon as he touched it. ”I will go see Shixi now.”

”Should we replace all these supplies?”

”Not now.” Shen Haoran responded by shaking his head. ”Their wedding will start early in the morning in two days, so we will focus on that matter now, especially because it concerns our future. However, you can ask the others to get rid of these supplies, and we will replace everything after their wedding is over.”

Immediately after Shen Haoranʼs departure, the man summoned several individuals to meet him, who promptly disposed of the supplies. Regrettably, they failed to recognize that the powderʼs effect had not entirely dissipated, leaving them vulnerable to its effects the moment they came into contact with those supplies.

*Bam*

Shao Shixiʼs heart tightened as she saw her brother standing up with an angry look after kicking the door, but she still managed to maintain her composure and asked, ”What did you do? Why did you barge into my room like this?”

”Donʼt play dumb with me!” Shen Haoran shouted as he released his aura, pressing Shen Shixi down on her bed. He immediately moved over to his sister and strangled her neck. ”What is your purpose for sprinkling that powder on our supplies? Who ordered you to do it?”

Shen Shixi shook her head vigorously. ”No one ordered me! I- Ugh!”

”Donʼt lie to me!” Shen Haoran shouted as he strangled Shao Shixiʼs neck even tighter, causing her face to turn extremely red and have difficulty breathing. ”Tell me! Who ordered you to do that? Otherwise, Iʼll cripple your cultivation and feed you to the beasts.”

Shen Shixi trembled upon hearing Shen Haoranʼs threat, particularly because her brother was known for his unwavering commitment to his word. However, she was also afraid of Zhang Feiʼs devil slave mark in her soul, and she did not want to die because of it. ʼDamn it! Both options will kill me!

Rather than having my cultivation crippled and being eaten alive by beasts, it would be better if I died because of his slave mark!ʼ

Shen Haoran became increasingly impatient and furious, and he pressed his palm against Shen Shixiʼs chest. ”Donʼt test my patience! Speak now!”

”That person is—Argh!” Shen Shixiʼs desire to reveal Zhang Feiʼs identity to her brother triggered the demon slave mark within her soul instantaneously, inflicting immense pain and causing her internal organs to ache intensely. ”Help! Argh!”

Shen Haoran immediately jumped back, but his eyes never looked away from Shen Shixi, who continued to writhe and scream due to the excruciating pain all over her body. ʼWhat the hell happened to her? Why did she suddenly become like this?ʼ

”Argh! Brother! Please help me!” Shen Shixi kept screaming as she tried to use her qi to ease the pain, but the pain only got worse as she did so, and her face quickly turned pale. ”Argh! No! This pain is killing me, brother!”

Shen Shixiʼs reaction made Shen Haoran frown as he realized something. ʼIt appears that someone has managed to trick my peopleʼs surveillance and infiltrate this tower, but who is the real culprit? How did the culprit manage to sneak in here? Iʼm sure that whoever did this to her is the same person who did those things to my son before.ʼ

After she was in pain for a few minutes, Shen Shixiʼs screams finally stopped because she had fallen unconscious, especially since Zhang Feiʼs devil slave mark would not kill her but torture her, and he said all that before just to scare her.

Shen Haoran took a deep breath and approached Shen Shixi to check on her condition; he found that his sister was still alive. However, he did not want to risk that the culprit would use her to do terrible things to them again, so he sealed her cultivation and ordered one of his loyalists to lock her up.

Unfortunately, Shen Haoran didnʼt realize that Zhang Fei had been watching their movements from his map, even though he was having fun with Shen Yu on the ground floor.

In addition, Shen Haoran also ordered his loyalists to search for the culprit, which was naturally in vain, especially since they would never be able to find Zhang Fei. ”Damn it! The day after tomorrow will be an important day for me, so I canʼt let the culprit ruin my plans!”

Meanwhile, Liu Hua and the Wen Twins are visiting the Ying Clan to explain Chu Yaoqianʼs situation to the clanʼs people, which makes Ying Feng angry because he canʼt avenge his sonʼs death. ”Your anger is unnecessary, as that little girlʼs fate has already been determined, and I assure you that she will soon follow your son.

Although you canʼt kill her directly, I think it is the best solution for everyone. Otherwise, killing her yourself will result in bloodshed, and the number of victims from both clans will be excessive.”

”Husband, second miss Liu is right.” Sun Meiʼer uttered these words as she caressed her husbandʼs shoulder. ”Although we cannot avenge our sonʼs death with our own hands, I do not doubt her words, and I believe that Chu Youqian will follow our son into the afterlife, so you can forget your anger towards her.”

Ying Feng sighed heavily, nodded to his wife, and then posed a question to Liu Hua. ”Who will kill Chu Youqian, second miss Liu?”

”My husband.” Not only were Ying Feng and Sun Meiʼer shocked by Liu Huaʼs answer, but even Ying Sha and Hong Xuan, who were also present in the room, were shocked. ”To tell you the truth, my husband is a vengeful person, and he will never spare anyone who chooses to be his enemy.

He had already heard that Chu Youqian planned all that against him, and he also knew about her jealousy towards Zhang Lin, so he was heading to the Northern Region to catch up with them.”

”Zhang Feiʼs cultivation is still in the soul realm, right, second miss Liu? Why did he do such a crazy thing by going to the northern region?” Liu Hua immediately turned to Ying Sha, who asked her the question.

”Moreover, we all know that the northern region is extremely dangerous because of the presence of the Pang Clan, and their people have full control over the entire area, so Zhang Fei will face great danger if he goes there.” Hong Xuan added to her loverʼs words as she looked at Liu Hua with a serious expression.

”Haha.” Instead, Liu Hua laughed after listening to them. ”As I said before, my husband is a vengeful person, and he is indeed a little crazy, so he will do whatever it takes to eliminate his enemies, including venturing into the northern region by himself.

Moreover, you guys already know about his relationship with Shen Yu; even Shen Haoran and his loyalists are no less strong than the members of the Pang Clan, but he still dares to snatch her from his son. Anyway, you guys will witness his true strength and abilities in two days, so you donʼt need to worry about him.”

”Does that mean Zhang Fei will appear at Shen Yu and Shen Tianyuʼs wedding?” Hong Xuan posed this question with a puzzled expression, especially since his cultivation was still too weak to perform such a feat.

”Yes.” Liu Hua nodded to Hong Xuan. ”In two days, the Ying-Yang Pavilion will be very chaotic, so the four of you should be careful when attending the wedding.”

”Can Zhang Fei really fight them?” Ying Sha doubtfully asked.

Liu Hua smiled and stood up from her seat. ”If all of you are curious whether my husband is able to do it or not, then you guys can witness it directly in two days, and you all will realize that he is not an ordinary cultivator.”

After the three women left, Ying Sha asked her lover directly. ”Why do I think that she has overestimated Zhang Feiʼs abilities? I know that he is indeed different, especially since he can advance from outer disciple to inner disciple in less than a month, and he will also advance to core disciple soon.

However, Shen Haoran and the others are powerful, and they are stronger than the Liu Clan; I do not believe that they can help him snatch Shen Yu from Shen Tianyuʼs hands.”

Hong Xuan nodded in agreement to Ying Sha, but then she sighed softly. ”However, if Shen Yu really turns away from Shen Tianyu and goes to Zhang Fei, I think it is possible that Mistress Shen will also side with him, especially since it is an open secret that the two sides have always been enemies.

If they and the Liu Clan join forces to support him, then I am sure that Shen Haoran and his loyalists will not be able to fight him.”

”Your opinion is correct, Xuanʼer.” Sun Meiʼer replied with a nod. ”Mistress Shen loves her daughter very much, but she also has to think about her clanʼs situation, and her decision to betroth her daughter to Shen Tianyu was only to maintain clan stability.

Furthermore, second miss Liu exuded confidence in Zhang Feiʼs ability to handle Shen Haoran, suggesting that she has already approved of his relationship with her daughter and that she and her loyalists will undoubtedly support him.”

Unlike them, Ying Feng did not care much about Zhang Fei and the othersʼ affairs, and he was still frustrated that he could not kill Chu Youqian with his own hands. ”Forget it! We are just a small clan, so we donʼt need to interfere in the affairs of major clans like them. Otherwise, we will be the ones who lose, and we will just have to wait to find out the outcome.”

Two people were already standing on the edge of the eastern desert, and Yi Na asked Zhang Fei [1]. ”Isnʼt this the location of the desolate sect? Why did you bring me here?”

”I heard Gang Jinshu is a possessor of the metal element, and one of my women has the same element as him.” Yi Na was really surprised. heard Zhang Fei [1]ʼs answer. ”Since I myself do not have the metal element, I cannot teach her about it. Thatʼs why I came here to see him, and I want to ask for his guidance on the element so I can help her master it.”

After hearing that, Yi Na nodded in understanding. ”Iʼve heard about Elder Jinshu and his metal element, but heʼs a man whoʼs always busy with his personal affairs, so Iʼm not sure that we can meet him directly.”

”At least, I should give it a try first, right?” Zhang Fei [1] was about to take Yi Na to the desolate sect when suddenly, several men and women landed nearby, led by a middle-aged woman whose body exuded high confidence and dignity.

However, Zhang Fei [1]ʼs gaze was not on the middle-aged woman, and he smiled as he looked at one of the young women standing among the group.

Noticing his gaze, the woman turned to Zhang Fei [1], and her expression turned joyful before running towards him. ”Fei! I didnʼt expect to meet you here!”
