Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 309: Act Against Ba Yongshan

When they arrived at the training ground, the people from the Heavenly Sword Sect were already there, and Chi Zhongguoʼs gaze fell on Qin Zheng, who was chatting with his aunt, Chi Zhiqiang.

However, Chi Zhongguo immediately averted his gaze, especially since he had already considered that Qin Zheng was no longer his rival due to their difference in cultivation. Instead, he turned his gaze towards Ye Lian, who was engaging in conversation with her sect members. ”Which one is that man named Zhang Fei [1]?”

”None of them.” Ba Yongshan responded by shaking his head. ”Zhang Fei [1] came here to meet Gang Jinshu, and he is probably still in his private quarters now.”

”Oh?” Ba Shuxiang was slightly surprised to hear Gang Jinshu permit a young disciple to see him. ”Is there something you havenʼt told us about Zhang Fei [1]? Elder Jinshu was a busy and strict person, and he would not be willing to meet such a young disciple if he did not have a special status.”

ʼTch!ʼ Ba Yongshan gritted his teeth a bit before telling Ba Shuxiang. ”In fact, Zhang Fei [1] is not only Ye Lianʼs fiancé, but he is also the husband of Chu Ying and Chu Qing, and he used his status as the son-in-law of the Chu Clan to meet Gang Jinshu.”

Ba Yonghsanʼs answer further surprised Ba Shuxiang and Chi Zhongguo. ”Just like Ye Lian, Chu Ying is often considered one of the best in her generation, but Chu Hong does not allow her to join any sect, especially since her character was too soft, and he was afraid that she would not be able to adapt to life in the sect.

Thatʼs why I didnʼt expect that she would become one of Zhang Fei [1]ʼs wives, let alone that her youngest sister would also become his wife.”

”I personally just heard about their relationship today, Big Sis.” Ba Yongshan replied with a soft sigh. ”I myself hardly ever go to town, let alone follow news about the other clans, especially since our uncle keeps forcing me to focus on my sword training.”

Ba Shuxiang nodded in understanding before leaving the two men, and she immediately approached Qin Zheng while greeting him. ”Long time no see, Zheng.”

Qin Zheng immediately turned to Ba Shuxiang. ”Yeah, itʼs been a while since we last met, Shuxiang.”

Wasting no time, Ba Shuxiang directly issued a challenge to Qin Zheng. Since you returned to our sect and came all the way here, how about we spar today?”

”All right.” Qin Zheng accepted Ba Shuxiangʼs challenge without hesitation. ”However, I didnʼt practice for a long time, so you might be disappointed with my current abilities.”

”Haha.” Ba Shuxiang laughed when she heard that. ”You donʼt have to be so modest with me, you know? Although you havenʼt practiced for a long time, you are one of the best swordsmen in our sect. Even my uncle always compares my abilities to yours, so I believe that your swordsmanship skills are not rusty yet.”

Qin Zheng responded to Ba Shuxiangʼs words with a smile, and she then asked Chi Zhiqiang. ”Where are your disciples, Elder Zhiqiang?”

”I have contacted them, and they will arrive soon.” Just as Chi Zhiqiang was saying this, they noticed three male disciples and three female disciples entering the training ground, and all six of them immediately walked to them. ”What do you think if Chi Yufeng spars with Ba Yongshan? Meanwhile, Hao Tian will fight Luo Feng, and Jiang Yifan will fight Chao Qing.”

”Hmm?” Qin Zheng studied the three male disciples for a moment before nodding in agreement with Chi Zhiqiang. ”All right, weʼll arrange it that way, especially since their strengths are equal to each other.”

”Thatʼs right.” Chi Zhiqiang nodded in agreement with her, and she then turned towards the three female disciples from the Heavenly Sword Sect. ”I think Tang Tang can spar with Ye Lian, Shangguan Yan will face Jing Qiu, and Gu Yuhe will face Qian He.”

Qin Zheng immediately nodded in agreement with Chi Zhiqiangʼs arrangement. ”Letʼs do it, and we can start with our male disciples first.”

”You can go there and use your full strength to fight Ba Yongshan.” Chi Zhiqiang immediately said this to Chi Yufeng.

”Yes, Aunt Zhiqiang.” Chi Yufeng took out his iron staff as he walked into the arena, followed by Ba Yongshan, who was already holding his sword. He then pointed his staff at him as he spoke. ”Hey! Our last spar ended in a draw, but Iʼll beat you this time.”

”Haha.” Ba Yongshan chuckled and drew his sword. ”Back then, you were lucky because I hadnʼt fully mastered my sword technique, but Iʼve managed to master it now. Moreover, my big sister watched our fight, and she will lecture me badly if I lose to you, so I will use my technique right from the start, and you will have no chance of defeating me.”

”Humph!” Chi Yufeng snorted as he slammed the tip of his iron staff onto the ground, causing the other disciples to cheer for him as they saw dozens of earth pillars appear around him. ”After our last spar, I have also polished my abilities, including my defense, and made it impenetrable, so your attacks wonʼt be able to reach me.”

”Is that so?” Ba Yongshan asked with a slight smirk on his face, and he immediately held his sword with both hands in front of his chest, the sharp blade facing Chi Yufeng. ”Your defense is indeed far superior to our last spar, but my sword technique is much better, and I will destroy your defense in one strike.”

*Boo... Boo...*

The disciples of the Desolate Sect shouted insults at Ba Yongshan after hearing his arrogant words.

”Haha.” Chi Yufeng laughed upon hearing that. ”In that case, we will determine the winner between us with one strike. If your attack can break my defense, then I will admit defeat, but vice versa.”

”All right.” Ba Yongshan nodded in agreement, then activated his technique. ”Sword Domain: Sword Burial!”

Instantly, a transparent Qi dome enveloped the entire battle arena, and dozens of swords made of Ba Yongshanʼs sword energy appeared above them.

Seeing that, Chi Yufeng immediately looked up to the sky and got ready, and he also activated his other technique, causing his body to be quickly covered by earth armor up to his head. ʼHis sword domain is stronger than before! Iʼm confident in my defense, and his attacks wonʼt penetrate it.

”Are you ready?” Ba Yongshan inquired as he flipped his sword with the bladeʼs tip facing the ground. ”Be careful, or my attack will seriously injure you.”

”Heh!” Chi Yufeng snorted at Ba Yongshan. ”Attack me! I will break your attacks!”

”Haha.” Ba Yongshan chuckled before stabbing his sword into the ground, and the dozens of sword energies immediately swooped towards Chi Yufeng. However, he raised his eyebrows as soon as he saw the faint smile on his sparring opponentʼs face. ʼCan he really break my attacks?ʼ

*Bam*

When he thought about it, Chi Yufeng stomped his right foot on the ground, and all the earth pillars immediately extended into the sky before clashing with Ba Yongshanʼs dozens of sword energies.

*Swoosh... Swoosh...*

*Crack... Crack...*

Their clash of attacks produced a powerful wind wave that instantly swept across the entire area, but all the disciples could see that Ba Yongshanʼs dozens of swords and Chi Yufengʼs earth pillars began to crack rapidly, indicating that their strengths were evenly matched.

ʼTch!ʼ The two men gritted their teeth after they saw the cracks in their attacks and defenses, and they immediately used their qi to strengthen them.

However, Chi Yufengʼs defense was clearly superior, especially since those pillars automatically repaired themselves and became whole again, unlike Ba Yongshanʼs sword energies, which kept cracking, and the transparent dome above them also cracked.

ʼDamn it!ʼ Ba Yongshan cursed in his heart after seeing that. ʼI forgot that the earth element in this desert is extremely strong, and it enhanced his abilities! If I donʼt do something to destroy those earth pillars, I will definitely lose to him!ʼ

Since he couldnʼt afford to lose, Ba Yongshan intended to use an underhanded method to defeat his opponent, but he and the people present did not realize that there was another person in the arena.

Zhang Fei [1], who had already arrived at the training ground earlier, stood invisible behind Ba Yongshan. ʼHeh! I warned you not to trouble me anymore, but you asked your elder sister and brother-in-law to help you fight me. I wonʼt kill you right away; Iʼll make you suffer until eventually you die.ʼ

When Zhang Fei [1] touched his back, Ba Yongshan was startled, and he looked back without being able to find anyone. Thatʼs why he immediately returned his gaze to Chi Yufeng with a puzzled look, but he suddenly felt some parts of his body harden. ʼWhat the hell! What happened to my body?ʼ

*Gasp*

Everyone in the arena gasped in shock as soon as they saw the sudden change in Ba Yongshanʼs body, including Ba Shuxiang and Chi Zhongguo, especially since his body started to turn to stone.

”Help me!” Ba Yongshan immediately shouted for help, realizing his situation. ”Elder sister! Brother-in-law! Aunt Zhiqiang! Please help me!”

”Yongshan!” Ba Shuxiang and Chi Zhongguo shouted as they moved into the arena, as did Chi Zhiqiang, and all three tried to channel their Qi into Bai Yongshanʼs body to prevent him from turning into stone. Unfortunately, their efforts were in vain, and almost his entire body quickly turned to stone except for his head.

In addition to using his petrification ability on Ba Yongshan, Zhang Fei [1] also injected something into his body, causing his qi to become chaotic, and his technique immediately disappeared by itself.

*Splurt*

Instantly, Ba Yongshanʼs blood sprayed onto Ba Shuxiangʼs face, who was standing in front of him, shocking the three of them, but he immediately lost consciousness after that.

”Yongshan!” Ba Shuxiang shouted in panic at the condition of her little brother before turning to her husband.

Chi Zhongguo nodded to his wife and immediately lifted Ba Yongshan using his aura, carrying him on his shoulders before swiftly escorting him away from the training ground. Ba Shuxiang herself immediately followed her husband, especially since she was so worried about her little brotherʼs condition.

”We will have to postpone the sparring practice between our disciples, and I will have someone prepare some guest rooms for all of you.” After receiving a nod from Qin Zheng, Chi Zhiqiang swiftly departed from the training ground and trailed behind the three, leaving the people in attendance perplexed by the strange incident involving Ba Yongshan.

Chi Yufeng, who was his opponent, looked upset and disappointed by it, especially since he had almost succeeded in defeating Ba Yongshan, and the incident snatched away the victory that was already before his eyes. ʼSigh! Forget it! I will defeat him another time.ʼ

Since Chi Zhiqiang decided to postpone their sparring, the disciples of the Desolate Sect immediately dispersed, and someone led the disciples of the Heavenly Sword Sect to the guest area.

However, Ye Lian continued to smile to herself, especially since she realized that it was Zhang Fei [1] who did all that to Ba Yongshan. Her attitude did not escape Qin Zhengʼs observation.

Even so, Qin Zheng did not immediately ask Ye Lian the truth, and she chose to wait until they were in a quiet place.

Zhang Fei [1] himself immediately left the training ground and joined the three women who were waiting for him in another area before continuing their tour of the sect, especially since there were still many areas they had not visited, and the one that interested them the most was the desert oasis located a little bit further behind the sect.

Upon their arrival at the guest residence, Qin Zheng immediately asked Ye Lian to accompany her to the room. ”Was Zhang Fei [1] the one who did all that to Ba Yongshan?”

”Haha.” Ye Lian laughed softly and nodded to Qin Zheng. ”Sister Zheng, you yourself could have heard Ba Yongshanʼs conversation with his elder sister and brother-in-law earlier, right?”

”Well, thatʼs true.” Qin Zheng nodded in agreement with Ye Lian.

”Fei had already let Ba Yongshan go once, but he intended to do something to him with their help instead.

Moreover, he is not a forgiving person, so you should not be surprised if he does such things to him, and he is still lucky that he did not kill him outright.” Qin Zheng let out a heavy sigh after hearing that, but she was surprised by Ye Lian, who gave her several pills, and all of them were of high quality.

”Hehe, he asked me to give them to you, and they will be useful for you and your family, especially these healing pills. After she swallows them, Qianzhi will not get sick easily anymore, and she can live comfortably like a little girl her age, so you donʼt have to keep worrying about her.”

Naturally, Qin Zheng really wanted her daughter to live comfortably and healthily, but she was confused about the reason Zhang Fei [1] gave her such precious pills, especially since they did not know each other. ”Why does he want to help us?”

Ye Lian smiled and hugged Qin Zhengʼs arm. ”Sister Zheng, you may not know it yet, but your sister-in-law, Zhu Yan, helped him manage his restaurant, which is already successful. This is the reason he gave these pills to you, particularly since you are her family.”
