Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 333: Boitataʼs Breakthrough

*Thud*

Zhang Fei and Shen Yu suddenly landing in the Liu Clanʼs main garden shocked the people, but they had already recognized his identity, so they did not stop him.

However, they were once again shocked when Zhang Fei summoned Boitata out of the beast space, particularly since she was already in her beast form, and the fiery eyes on her body horrified them.

Before they could ask him, Liu Qingyu, Liu Hua, the Chu Sisters, Chu Liuxiang, and Yuan Manqiu had already arrived at their side. The Liu Sisters immediately ordered them to spread out and stand guard, especially since he had told them that Boitata was about to break through to the sovereign realm, and her breakthrough would probably arouse the curiosity of the cultivators in the southern regions.

After all, the strongest cultivators in the region were Shen Xueyi and the Shen Ancestors, and the cultivation of the three of them was only at the 10-Star Heaven Realm, so none of them had ever witnessed breaking through to the Sovereign Realm.

Like the people from the Liu Clan, Chu Liuxiang and Yuan Manqiu were also horrified by Boitataʼs true form, especially since those fiery eyes stared at them at the same time, but they were also relieved that she was not their enemy.

”Husband, I will start my breakthrough now.”

Zhang Fei nodded to Boitata. ”You can start your breakthrough without needing to think about anything else, and we will protect you.”

Boitata immediately closed her fiery eyes, along with all the eyes throughout her body, and her Qi fluctuated before exploding, causing a wave of strong wind to sweep across the entire area of the Liu Clan.

*Swoosh*

The people from the Liu Clan, who were standing guard around their residence, looked excited as they looked at Boitata, especially since they were about to witness a cultivator break through to the Sovereign Realm.

”Fei! Will Big Sis Boitata be okay?” Chu Qing inquired as she hugged Zhang Feiʼs left arm, but her eyes continued to stare at the giant snake.

”Yeah.” Zhang Fei then hugged Chu Qingʼs waist. ”Iʼve witnessed Hu Yue break through to the sovereign realm before, and her breakthrough was smooth. Moreover, Boitata is a divine beast like her, so I believe that she can pass her breakthrough smoothly.”

Chu Qing still felt worried about Boitata, especially since breaking through to the sovereign realm was truly not an easy matter. Even the Shen Ancestors had been cultivating for a long time and made numerous attempts to reach that stage, but they were still unable to do so.

”Fei!” Chu Ying abruptly called out to her husband as she was bringing her grandmother to his side, and she introduced her to Zhang Fei. ”She is our grandmother, Yuan Manqiu, and she lives in the eastern region. However, she does not live with Wang Xiaoyi and the others; she lives in a small village not far from the Desolate Sect.”

ʼBuy those basic pills, Mei.ʼ

[Yes, Master.]

{You got Essence Qi Pill x2}

{You got Meridian Cleansing Pill x2}

{You got Dantian Strengthening Pill x2}

{You got Soul Enhanced Pill x2}

{You got Yin Purifying Pill x1}

{You got Yang Purifying Pill x1}

{3,200,000 red jewels have been deducted from your balance}

Zhang Fei immediately took those pills from the system inventory and gave them to Yuan Manqiu. ”Grandma, consider these pills to be our meeting gift; they will be of great help to you and that old man.”

Yuan Manqiu looked at Zhang Fei in shock after she recognized the grade of each pill, and she wanted to ask him where he got them from, but Chu Ying immediately signaled her not to ask anything and just accepted them.

”Thank you.” Yuan Manqiu immediately put those pills in her storage ring, then took Zhang Feiʼs hand and spoke to him. ”Honestly, I still find it strange that Yingʼer and Qingʼer chose to be your wives, but I can see that they are happy with you, and they have also told me many things about you, so I hope you will continue to look after and protect them.”

Zhang Fei smiled and grabbed Yuan Manqiuʼs hand back. ”Grandma, I promise that I will always protect them well, so you donʼt need to worry about them. Anyway, I intend to bring them back to the Chu Clan after Boitata completes her breakthrough, so I hope you can come with us, especially since they miss you so much.”

”All right.” Yuan Manqiu immediately agreed to Zhang Feiʼs request, especially since she herself also missed her two granddaughters. Besides, she was also curious about his families and other wives who lived in the Chu Clan. ”Old man, you should tell Chu Chongzi and Yao Chi to return to the eastern Chu Clan, and we will spend some time in the western Chu Clan.”

Chu Liuxiang nodded in agreement with his wife, and he immediately asked the two to return to their clan, especially since they had been away for quite some time. Since he was curious about the fate of Wang Xiaoyi and Chu Youqian, he immediately asked Zhang Fei about them. ”Have you done anything to my wife and daughter?”

”Yeah.” Zhang Fei had no intention of hiding it from Chu Liuxiang, but he did not tell him the truth either. ”Wang Xiaoyi brought Chu Youqian to the Northern Region, so I ordered Boitata to capture them, and they are now in my slavesʼ care. However, I have no intention of enslaving or torturing them, and I will only harvest their yin qi using a method that I believe is not harmful for them.”

Chu Liuxiang himself had already guessed that Zhang Fei would not let go of his wife and granddaughter, especially after the Liu Sisters and the Chu Sisters told him and Yuan Manqiu quite a lot about him. Since he had already given up on both of them, he had no intention of begging him.

Even though Chu Liuxiang didnʼt say anything and his expression was still normal, Yuan Manqiu had accompanied him for decades, so she fully understood her husbandʼs feelings and held his hand while rubbing it.

Suddenly, two groups of cultivators landed in the Liu Clanʼs main garden at the same time. The first group was Zhang Lingxue, Zhao Ziqin, and Chang Wenjie. The second group was Shen Xueyi, Xi Zihua, Yan Luanʼer, Shi Yue, and several elders, such as Shen Xueyiʼs loyalists, Shen Hai, Zhiyu Fengzhi, Xuan Hao, and others.

All of them could feel Boitataʼs Qi fluctuating, indicating that she would break through soon, so they all rushed to the Liu Clan to watch her break through to the Sovereign Realm.

Many cultivators from Southern River City and other cities could feel it, but none of them dared to approach the Liu Clan, so they crowded the sky a little far from the clanʼs residence, including people from the Cai and You clans.

Zhang Fei didnʼt think much about other cultivators, but his gaze fell specifically on the people from the Cai and You clans, especially the two clan patriarchs, Cai Shangjun and You Yuanwen.

Seeing so many cultivators coming, Liu Qingyu immediately activated a protective formation array in the Liu Clan to prevent unwanted things, and a transparent barrier immediately enveloped the entire clan area, including the outermost area.

ʼDid you manage to find Chang Wenhao?ʼ Zhang Fei immediately asked Zhang Lingxue via telepathy.

Zhang Lingxue shook her head at her husband. ʼCai Shangjun has hidden Cai Wenhao somewhere else, so I havenʼt discovered his whereabouts to this day.ʼ

Zhang Fei then opened the map to look for Chang Wenhaoʼs locations throughout the southern region, but he had a hard time finding him, especially since there were countless green dots on the map.

Despite this, Zhang Fei finally managed to find Chang Wenhaoʼs location, which was quite far west of the region and close to the western border.

Zhang Fei immediately gave Chang Wenhaoʼs location to his wife, and Zhang Lingxue flew away from the Liu Clan without saying a word, confusing Zhao Ziqin and Chang Wenjie, who came with her.

ʼLingxue is going somewhere to capture Chang Wenhao.ʼ Zhao Ziqin was taken back for a moment when she heard that, and she immediately nodded to Zhang Fei without asking anything. ʼAnyway, we will return to the Western Region today, but we will not immediately enter seclusion because I will return to my home realm for some time.ʼ

Zhao Ziqin thought for a while before speaking to Zhang Fei. ʼIn that case, you can send me into your training space, and I will join Sister Lian to catch up with the others.ʼ

Zhang Fei immediately asked Mei to open the portal to the training space, and she closed it again after Zhao Ziqin entered. Chang Wenjie, intrigued by this, promptly questioned him. ”How did you manage to create a portal like that, Fei? Where did it take Ziqin?”

”Youʼre not my family or my wife, so I donʼt need to tell you that, right?” Chen Wenjie felt a little irritated by Zhang Feiʼs answer, but she remembered that he didnʼt like emotional women, so she immediately swallowed her anger. ”Anyway, I can see that youʼve changed quite a bit, but itʼs still not enough, so you still have a lot to work on, especially your emotions.”

”I know.” Chang Wenjie replied with a nod. ”Changing someoneʼs character is not as easy as turning the palm of our hand, and Iʼve been used to acting like that since I was little. Even so, I will continue to change, and I will prove that I can be a better woman, not just to attract your interest in me but also for my own good.”

”Thatʼs good.”

Suddenly, they saw Boitataʼs body covered in a red and blue aura that came from her fire and water elements, and her body rose into the air by itself.

However, Zhang Fei frowned after he felt the changes not only in Boitataʼs body but also in the sky above the Liu Clan residence, so they all immediately looked up and saw a flash of lightning above the night sky.

”Feiʼer, I think it was Boitataʼs lightning tribulation, but I donʼt understand how she managed to attract it.”

Zhang Fei nodded in understanding when Liu Hua spoke to him, especially since he himself had read about such a thing before. However, he felt strange about it, particularly because Hu Yue did not trigger a lightning tribulation when she broke through to the sovereign realm, and Hu Lili had never mentioned anything about it. ʼWhat happened to her, Mei?

Why did her breakthrough trigger the lightning tribulation?ʼ

[Master, a lightning tribulation can occur due to several factors, one of which is a personʼs karma, be it good or bad. Moreover, Boitata has been stuck in the Heaven Realm for too long, and she also used a lot of precious treasures to achieve her current cultivation before she met you.

Besides, you also gave her those pills and your yang qi, all of which might have caused her breakthrough, provoking the lightning tribulation, and the heavens wanted to test her. Even so, you shouldnʼt worry about her because her body has already become much stronger due to all of that, and her lightning tribulation isnʼt that strong either, so it wonʼt hurt her and will instead strengthen her.]

Zhang Fei let out a soft sigh after listening to Meiʼs explanation, but he couldnʼt do anything to help Boitata get through her breakthrough, so he could only wait anxiously.

After a few minutes, the lightning flashes in the sky became increasingly intense, and the other cultivators who were watching began to whisper. However, Cai Shangjun and You Yuanwen looked excited when they saw that, and they hoped that Boitataʼs lightning tribulation would kill her so that there would be fewer strong cultivators beside Zhang Fei.

*Zap...Zap...Zap...*

Several lightning bolts quickly descended from the sky, striking Boitataʼs body and electrocuting her, causing her expression to look painful and her body to writhe in pain.

Unfortunately, Cai Shangjun and You Yuanwenʼs wish for Boitata to die did not come true, and her body immediately absorbed the remaining lightning, which strengthened it even more.

*Boom*

A burst of Qi immediately erupted from Boitataʼs body as soon as she crossed the final threshold, and a wave of Qi that was much stronger than before swept across the entire area, both land and sky, causing those who were waiting for her to be pushed back several steps.

However, they were shocked to see that Boitataʼs already large beast form grew even larger, and the number of fiery eyes on her body also increased. Aside from that, her fire and water elements increased quite significantly, making them feel cool and hot at the same time.

After a few minutes, Boitataʼs beast form shrank rapidly, and she returned to her human form before releasing a loud cry. ”I made it! Iʼve reached the sovereign realm now!”

Zhang Fei was relieved to see that Boitata had successfully completed her breakthrough, and he immediately flew in front of her, hugging and briefly kissing her. ”Congratulations! Your years of waiting are finally over, and you have reached this stage. However, our cultivation road is still long ahead, and we will continue to help each other reach higher levels.”

”Haha.” Boitata laughed before teasing Zhang Fei. ”How about we dual-cultivate now, husband? I think your cultivation can reach the earth realm faster with the help of my current yin qi.”

Zhang Fei smiled and squeezed Boitataʼs buttocks. ”What a naughty serpent! I like your idea, but weʼll do it later after I return from my home realm, and weʼll go into seclusion for a few months.”

”Thatʼs great!” Boitata then looked at the cultivators clustered in the distant sky. ”What are you guys waiting for now? Disperse now! Otherwise, I will beat you all up at once!”

Upon hearing that, all of them, including Cai Shangjun and You Yuanwen, hastily fled, particularly because Boitata, with her cultivation reaching the 1-Star Sovereign Realm, was now the strongest in the Southern Region.
