Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1699 - 1700: Nearly Monstrous

Cheng Su was thinking about her past life, but no matter how much she dug through her memory, there was no such person as Shen Rong.

She also knew that there were legal casinos abroad and some well-known people involved, with a few of them having multiple wives and doing large-scale business. But there was no Shen Rong, so how did this person suddenly appear?

Or perhaps, it was just a name on paper?

Or, did her arrival change the course of events?

”Is this Shen Rong really involved in the casino business?” Cheng Su asked, a bit unwilling to let it go.

”Yes.” Cheng Yaozu gave her a strange look: ”Is there something wrong?”

”No, just asking.” Cheng Su pulled at her mouth and, after a quick thought, asked again, ”How old did you say he was?”

”Sixty-eight.”

Cheng Su didn’t say anything more.

Ning Ge looked at her and said, ”Did something come to your mind? Why don’t you share it?”

How could Cheng Su say that she was from the future, and that in the future, such a person did not exist?

If she said that, they would probably think she was crazy, right?

She pulled at her mouth and said, ”Nothing much, just wondering how someone like Chiang Qing got to know him? Wasn’t she closely watched by Gao Hongbo? How did they get involved? Also, was someone helping her with Gao’s death?”

This indeed aligned with Ning Ge’s thoughts. He didn’t care how Shen Rong started; he was concerned about Chiang Qing’s relationship with him. Regardless of whether he was the person behind the scenes, Chiang Qing was already his now.

Shen Rong was a significant figure, elderly but still drawn to Chiang Qing, giving her a title. She truly had skills.

Back then, after exhausting all efforts to cut her wings and push her into the mire, she has managed to rise again.

Ning Ge found it all very interesting.

His lips pressed tightly, his brows furrowed, but at the corner of his mouth, there was a hint of a smile. However, anyone familiar with him knew that Ning Ge was angry.

It wasn’t Shen Rong who made him angry, but Chiang Qing, who was like a buzzing fly and an unkillable cockroach, extremely irritating and annoying to him.

”What are you worried about?” Cheng Yaozu looked at Cheng Su.

Cheng Su looked at Ning Ge and asked, ”Will Chiang Qing trace anything back to you? The thing with the Jiang and Lu families back then, and her time in the hospital...”

She was worried that now that Chiang Qing had power, she would hold a grudge over past events and seek revenge.

”Don’t worry, she’s just a little pet now. No matter how fond Shen Rong is of her, he won’t let her act recklessly.” Ning Ge knew Cheng Su was worried about him, which warmed his heart, and so he comforted her, ”Besides, the Shen Family also wants to enter the domestic real estate market. If they want to mess with the Ning Family, they’ll have to think twice.”

Indeed, with the Ning Family influencing both military and government spheres, any sensible person would know how to deal with it. If Shen Rong were truly someone who’s easily blinded by lust, he wouldn’t have built a career from a rascal to what he has today.

”Anyway, she’s capable of killing. If this Shen person is indeed backing her and covering for her, it means the Shen Family’s capabilities shouldn’t be underestimated.” Cheng Su thought and said.

Ning Ge nodded, ”You’re right. Some matters do require preparation; we can’t just sit back and wait for someone to strike.”

Knowing that he had a plan, Cheng Su sighed lightly. Sometimes she thought, if only Chiang Qing could be dealt with once and for all, they might finally have peace.

Meanwhile, Ning Ge was thinking that for anything done, traces would remain. How to uncover those traces? And as for this Shen, his background needed thorough investigation.
