Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1689 - 1690: The Transfer Order Has Arrived

After the Lantern Festival, Cheng Su still hadn’t started school, and for the moment, she was relaxed. At home, besides reading and studying, she either played with little Qi Xiaoqi or wrote plans for opening the seafood shop.

Originally, it was said they would open it and gradually expand in a few years. Actually, whether they opened it or not could be delayed, but now that Qi Taiguo was about to be transferred, this business certainly couldn’t be set aside and had to be started.

It so happened that when Third Uncle Cheng and his younger brother headed south, they first brought some things over to her side. Cheng Su handed over the shop renovation blueprints to them, hoping they could do it.

Third Uncle Cheng and his crew hadn’t seen the shop yet. Cheng Su couldn’t go over there immediately, so she had to plan on paper, drawing how each place should be laid out and done.

”Just talking about it, you might not achieve the effects you want. In my opinion, if you have time, you should simply go there yourself and explain on-site. That’ll be more reliable,” Third Uncle Cheng said. ”Talking like this now, if it’s not what you want later, tearing it down again would be time-consuming and troublesome, not to mention wasting materials.”

Cheng Su understood that reasoning, but going to Guangcheng now?

It was indeed a free time, and the holiday was still ongoing. Her concern was Qi Taiguo; she didn’t know when Qi Taiguo would be transferred. She didn’t want to be separated from him for too long at this time. The longer they could be together each day, the better.

”No worries, Third Uncle, just go ahead with it first. As far as I know, you’ve seen the seafood shops under those restaurants in Guangcheng. My renovation layout isn’t fancy, just installing a few spotlights above these counters to enhance the viewing angle for the goods,” Cheng Su said with a smile.

”Since you say so, I’ll go and take a look at the shop first,” Third Uncle Cheng said. ”The current project coming up isn’t large. Once I finish the one I’m working on, doing yours shouldn’t take much time!”

Cheng Su nodded with a smile: ”Mine can indeed be done slowly. Third Uncle, feel free to take any big projects you have. If there’s not much time to handle my small stuff, I can look for another renovation team, it’s the same.”

”Nonsense, we have our own renovation team, why use outside help? Really, too much money with nowhere to spend. Let me tell you, many renovation teams are sketchy nowadays. They charge for everything. Clearly, a task that costs one thousand, they ask for three thousand,” Third Uncle Cheng said with a click of his tongue. ”If you have that money, better to give it to me as a gift!”

Cheng Su laughed loudly: ”Gifts are necessary, renovation fees too.”

As niece and uncle joked, after covering this topic, they started discussing other business matters, so much so that when Qi Taiguo returned, they hadn’t finished.

This time, Third Uncle Cheng was just passing through Qing City and stayed briefly. He had already bought a ticket to head south to Guangcheng, and when the time came, he had to leave.

Qi Taiguo borrowed a car from the unit to personally take them to the train station, and upon returning, he asked Cheng Su what they talked about.

Cheng Su naturally mentioned the renovation of the shop in Guangcheng and said, ”Third Uncle suggested I go to the site and direct things, but I was thinking of not going now. Who knows when you’ll be transferred? Every additional day we can spend together is precious.”

She pouted, her tone full of reluctance, holding a small piece of clothing in her hand, stitching a small button on it.

Qi Taiguo glanced at her, pursed his lips, and said, ”The transfer order has come down; I’ll be going to Zhu City in a few days.”

Upon hearing this, Cheng Su’s hand slipped, and the needle pricked her finger. She looked up at him in surprise.
