Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1692 - 1693: Parting Ways After a Thousand Miles

The next day, the family had breakfast at home and set off with their luggage. Qi Fenglian and her husband knew Qi Taiguo was going to be transferred to Zhu City, so they specially came to the train station to see him off.

”Call home whenever you can. We have a phone at home, too. Take care and stay safe,” Qi Fenglian urged her younger brother.

”Got it, Elder Sister, you also take care of your health,” Qi Taiguo said with a smile.

Qi Fenglian waved with a smile, and they only left together after the train whistle sounded and started moving.

Mother Cheng watched and said to Cheng Su, ”Your Elder Sister really married right this time. From the looks of it, her husband is quite good to her.”

”Indeed!” Cheng Su placed her son in Qi Taiguo’s arms and said to him, ”Spend more time with your dad, otherwise, once he leaves, you might not see him for a year or so.”

Qi Xiaoqi raised his head and looked at him, his big eyes blinking, and Qi Taiguo couldn’t help but bring his face closer. ”Dad won’t want to leave you,” he said.

He wasn’t lying but speaking earnestly; before, he was a lone man with no attachments wherever he went. Yet now, having a loving wife and young child makes it hard for him to not miss them.

Cheng Su watched from the side as the father and son interacted, her mouth turning upward, her eyes full of affection.

She took a camera out of her bag and handed it to Mother Cheng, ”Mom, take a picture of us.”

The family of three was separating this time, and they didn’t know when they could reunite. For now, they could only take more photos for remembrance.

Two days later, the train arrived at Guangcheng. Outside the train station, the family took a few more pictures.

Qi Taiguo went to the bus station to buy a ticket to Zhu City, and Cheng Su held their son, looking at him with tearful eyes.

”Go home. I’ll call often, don’t worry,” Qi Taiguo’s eyes were also a bit red.

Cheng Su held back her tears and said, ”We’ll leave once your bus departs.”

Qi Taiguo feared this facade of strength she put on and couldn’t help but put down his luggage and embrace the mother and child.

Engulfed in this warmth, Cheng Su’s tears couldn’t be held back anymore.

”Once I arrive, I’ll call the Cheng family. Don’t worry and don’t be scared,” Qi Taiguo said, looking at her. ”As I leave now, the household will depend on you, and so will our son. Everything will be hard on you, Susu, I’m sorry.”

I’m sorry, for the sake of the family, the future, I must temporarily let go and pursue my dreams.

I’m sorry, for leaving when our son is so young and not being able to be with him as he grows.

Cheng Su clenched her fist and punched him, ”I totally hate you.”

Qi Taiguo sighed, letting her punch him twice, ”The bus is about to leave, I really have to go.”

”Who said I’m stopping you?” Cheng Su deliberately showed a disdainful expression, but the tears nonetheless kept falling down.

She placed the similarly pouting Qi Xiaoqi into her mother’s arms, desperately blinking her teary eyes at him, ”Go on, don’t worry about home, I’ll take good care of myself and our son. You also have to promise me, take care of your son, remember, you’re not alone; you have a son, you have me, you have a family, and a big responsibility.”

”I promise you!” Qi Taiguo pulled her close and held her face in his hands, kissing her deeply.

Mother Cheng exclaimed, holding Qi Xiaoqi and turning her face away, thinking that today’s young people are really brash.

Sending you a thousand miles away, we shall part in the end.

Once the kiss ended, the conductor was urging him, and Qi Taiguo jumped onto the bus, waving to Cheng Su through the window, ”Go home!”

Cheng Su nodded, but she waited until the bus drove away before wiping her tears and returning to Guangcheng with Mother Cheng.
