Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1660 - 1661: Thinking Three Steps Ahead

Cheng Su and Xiao Qi returned home, and after such a long car ride, they went to sleep first. Meanwhile, Mother Qi was also sent to the Cheng family by Qi Jianguo. When they woke up, it was already dark.

After feeding Qi Xiaoqi, Cheng Su held him and walked out of the hall room, feeling it was quite quiet, so she asked Qi Fengping, ”Where’s Xiao Bao?”

Qi Fengping pursed her lips and said, ”While you were sleeping, Zhang Jisheng came by and took him back to celebrate the New Year.”

Cheng Su was surprised, ”So soon? We just came back.”

”Exactly, he used to be nowhere near so eager and friendly. He even brought candy, Baobao originally didn’t want to go but was persuaded by him.” Qi Fengping snorted coldly, ”You should’ve seen how he pretended to be the kind father, disgusting people to death, didn’t even manage to make it look convincing!”

As she spoke, she reached out to hold Qi Xiaoqi.

Cheng Su handed the child to her and said with a smile, ”You’re a university student now, how come you’re still so sharp-tongued?”

Qi Fengping glanced at her and replied, ”Sister-in-law, don’t forget what I’m studying. If my tongue weren’t sharp, how could I argue with people in the future?”

Cheng Su was taken aback for a moment and then laughed.

Qi Fengping used to be so wild and rebellious, hard to control, which led to quite a bit of trouble later on, but nobody expected her to pass the college entrance exam and choose judicial studies, aiming to pursue a career in law.

According to her, she’s focusing on marriage law, determined to protect women’s rights and specialize in divorce cases in the future.

Cheng Su was startled by her ambition, but regardless of whether she completes her studies or becomes a lawyer, having such aspirations is at least something to hold on to.

”You always have a point.” Cheng Su smiled and tapped her forehead, then asked a few questions about her time at university. Seeing Qi Jianguo coming in with a cloth, looking like he was preparing to set the table, she quickly went over to help.

She usually stays in Qing City and only returns during holidays. As the eldest daughter-in-law, some household chores really cannot be ignored.

Having just returned and rested, her in-laws were considerate of her, but now that she was refreshed, it was necessary to help, wasn’t it?

So she hurried to the kitchen to help with the chores, and in no time, the meal was set and the family sat down to eat.

”It’s a pity Taiguo can’t come back this year!” Father Qi looked at the whole family being together, feeling content, just a bit regretful that the eldest son wasn’t there.

Cheng Su said he could return in a few days, and after thinking, added, ”It might be harder in the future, his work in Taiguo might be relocated.”

Father Qi and others were taken by surprise, ”A relocation? Where to?”

”Zhu City.”

”Is it that Zhu City near Guangcheng? The Bay City?” Qi Jianguo asked.

Cheng Su nodded and said, ”Yes. He’ll probably be transferred there by February, and there might be a chance to relocate back to Guangcheng’s military district in the future!”

Everyone fell silent.

”Sister-in-law, does that mean once Brother is transferred, you and Xiao Qi will follow? Or go to Guangcheng?” Qi Fengping quickly highlighted the key point.

Cheng Su looked impressed, indeed showing the qualities of someone studying law, her thinking depth much greater than before, seeing several steps ahead and immediately considering their future plans.

”Barring any accidents, after I graduate from college, I should go to Guangcheng. Later, when your brother transfers back to Guangcheng, the family will be reunited!” Cheng Su said, ”Moreover, we have some businesses in Guangcheng. Developing over there would certainly be much better compared to Qing City.”

Upon hearing this, Mother Qi froze and exclaimed, ”Wouldn’t that mean you’re even farther from home?”

With the son, daughter-in-law, and grandson all in the city, what would the two of them, old folks, do in the countryside? Wouldn’t it be difficult to even catch a glimpse of their grandson?
