Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1693 - 1694: Clinginess

After seeing Qi Taiguo off, Cheng Su still felt somewhat muddleheaded. Returning to their house in Guangcheng, she felt uncomfortable all over and couldn’t muster any energy.

Mother Cheng couldn’t stand it, and couldn’t help but scold her: ”Come on, you’re a mother now, yet you’re still whining. He’s not going somewhere far, why are you acting like this?”

Cheng Su languidly slumped on the sofa, saying, ”Mom, what do you know? We’ve been married for years, and we’ve never been apart. Now that we’ve separated, who knows when we’ll meet again!”

Now he’s going to Zhu City, and there are many things to adjust to. It’s not convenient for me to go there, and he doesn’t know if he can come out, even if he can, it might just be for a day or two, not enough to come to Guangcheng.

”So, are the women in the village not living their lives? Most of the men go out to work. Without mentioning faraway places, just look at your third uncle and aunt; they are also separated between two locations,” Mother Cheng rolled her eyes.

”That’s different; third uncle can come home anytime,” Cheng Su said dispiritedly. ”But the army is different, the rules are all set there!”

”Alright, alright, don’t act like Xi Shi clutching her heart. Do you still have to go to your godfather’s place?” Mother Cheng looked at her disdainfully.

Cheng Su burst into laughter: ”Mom, watching TV really taught you something, huh? You even know about Xi Shi clutching her heart!”

Indeed, television teaches many things.

...

Coming to Guangcheng, with relatives in the Cheng family, after the New Year, Cheng Su hadn’t visited them yet. Taking this opportunity, she certainly had to visit and pay a belated New Year’s call.

Cheng Su brought a pile of gifts, along with her mother and son, and went to the Cheng family.

Old Master Cheng was very happy to see them, and he played with Xiao Qi for a long time before speaking with Cheng Su.

”I heard before that Taiguo was going to be transferred to Zhu City. I didn’t expect you to come today? He’s leaving already?” Old Master Cheng asked.

Cheng Su smiled and said, ”Yes, they’re rushing him to report, so he didn’t have time to stay. He asked me to say hello to you and wish you a belated New Year!”

”Alright, alright, if there’s no time, it’s fine. Young people should strive, but why the sudden transfer to Zhu City? Is there any plan?” Old Master Cheng asked again.

”I haven’t really delved into the matters of their military unit. You know, many things are confidential. I only know that he’s going there with a Regular Camp Position, and after a few years, he might be transferred back to the Guangcheng Military District,” Cheng Su replied.

Old Master Cheng nodded: ”Is it Chief Ning’s idea from the Capital?”

Indeed, as the saying goes, ginger gets spicier with age, and Old Master Cheng guessed the hint from Cheng Su’s words.

Cheng Su smiled and nodded.

”That’s good. When you move back to Guangcheng, the family can reunite.” Old Master Cheng looked at Xiao Qi: ”Xiao Qi can often come and chat with me, this old man!”

”There’s that plan. After I graduate next year, I’ll probably come over as well. In the coming days, I’m thinking of sending him off and discussing with my third uncle about the shop’s renovation...” Cheng Su patiently shared her schedule.

Old Master Cheng nodded from time to time and said: ”Your second brother probably has some connections for this. Later, you can find him. If you need to go to the shop and it’s busy these days, let your mom and Xiao Qi come here to play. Just eat here; there’s no need to cook at home. It’s more lively, and let Xiao Qi keep this old man company.”

With Old Master Cheng saying so, Cheng Su wouldn’t dare refuse and readily agreed.
