Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1680 - 1681: Thoughts After a Full Meal...

After being coaxed by Qi Taiguo, Mother Qi felt a bit better. When she showed up again, although her smile was still a bit forced, she didn’t say much and didn’t mention going to help with her grandson anymore.

Since she didn’t mention it, nobody else brought it up either. They just talked about happy things, and the whole afternoon was filled with laughter. In the evening, the men drank, and it was quite lively.

After the gathering, Qi Taiguo returned to the room smelling of alcohol. Cheng Su wrung out a towel to wipe his face and asked, ”Did you talk it over with Mom today?”

Qi Taiguo, having drunk quite a bit, lazily lay on the bed and said, ”Yes, I did, but it took quite a bit of convincing.”

”As expected, once a son steps in, his mother gets it,” Cheng Su raised an eyebrow and said.

The relationship between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law largely depends on the man in the middle. Seeing how Qi Taiguo handled the situation, making his mother stop saying harsh words, shows his role in it.

Qi Taiguo glanced at her and said, ”People can change. Mom used to be a bit unreasonable, but in recent years, she’s aged and changed. Give her a chance; today I saw she has a lot of gray hair.”

Cheng Su pouted, ”You’re exaggerating. I didn’t say anything. What chance are you talking about?”

”I’m just saying,” Qi Taiguo pulled her to lie beside him and hugged her, ”My mom has endured a lot in her lifetime, always in the village, and hasn’t seen much of the world. There are things she doesn’t know or understand. Give her a little help. She’s getting old!”

”What is it? Had a few more drinks and now you’re lecturing me?” Cheng Su deliberately widened her eyes.

Qi Taiguo laughed, poked her nose, and said, ”I wouldn’t dare lecture you. You’re the mother of my son, my dear wife.”

Cheng Su snorted, poked him a few times in the chest, and said, ”You know how I am. As long as it doesn’t cross my line, why would I hold on? Two generations think differently. My views, your mom might not understand; your mom’s views, I might not get either. Not to mention her, even with my mom, we have plenty of differing opinions about raising Xiao Qi.”

Qi Taiguo understood; sometimes the two mothers would even argue!

”My mom listens to me, but your mom, maybe not!” Cheng Su sighed, ”Not living together is always better, fewer conflicts. Let’s just keep it like this for now. Like Dad said, it’s not that she can’t help; but she can hardly walk. When we move back to the new house, going up and down from the fourth floor is not too convenient. How could she watch over Xiao Qi?”

Qi Taiguo stroked her back and murmured in agreement.

”Alright, let’s not talk about this anymore. If her foot really heals, and she wants to help with Xiao Qi, I won’t say no. We’ll see by then!” Cheng Su said, ”Eventually, we will settle back in Guangcheng. By that time...”

If Qi Taiguo goes to Zhu City and she and Xiao Qi move to Guangcheng, they can’t just leave the elderly parents in the hometown.

”We’ll plan for the future!” Qi Taiguo’s hand slipped a bit lower, biting her ear, ”Do you want to?”

Cheng Su felt a tingling in her ear, glared at him, and said, ”Fed and warm, and now you think of that, huh?”

Qi Taiguo chuckled, his hand slipping into her pajamas, ”We haven’t seen each other for a long time, don’t tell me you don’t want to!”

Cheng Su breathed slightly heavier, ”Our son...”

”It’s fine, he’s asleep!” Qi Taiguo glanced to the side, pulled the blanket over them, and got on with the intimate act.
