CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 251: Chapter 259: Next Door

At the upcoming traffic light, Bright Sampton slowly brought the car to a stop before he softly began to speak, ”If you take it back, it means that your involvement with this family has deepened by another degree. Sis, I both hope that you’re here, and yet sometimes, I deeply wish you weren’t.”

Bright Sampton understood his own father well, he was an out-and-out businessman. In his eyes were only calculations, only profit and loss.

His willingness to let his biological daughter give all her shares to Jane Sampson, his foster daughter who grew up by his side, was not out of extra affection for Jane, but rather because Father Sampton had calculated Jane’s character. He was convinced that with her younger brother and grandparents around, Jane would never do anything to harm the Sampton family.

The more company shares Jane held in her hands, the more Old Master Black would feel indebted to her for the extra care she provided to the company.

”Sis, with the shares that Grandpa and Grandma gave you, and the ones Dad gave you as dowry when you got married, you can already live without financial worries,” said Bright Sampton. ”With one less share of the Sampton Family’s company in your grip, you’ll have one less responsibility to bear, and Dad won’t be able to use you with such peace of mind.”

Jane Sampson sat in the passenger seat, watching the traffic light cycle until it settled on green, and Bright Sampton restarted the car to move forward.

Jane Sampson was surprised that Bright Sampton would speak so candidly with her.

She understood all the reasons Bright Sampton mentioned.

Her decision to give up the shares so resolutely was not only because Mother Sampton had personally asked for them back, and she, as a foster daughter in name only, had no right to shamelessly refuse, but also because she herself didn’t want them.

More than an hour later, the car stopped at the airport gate, and Bright Sampton helped Jane Sampson with her suitcase as he escorted her into the airport.

”Sis, take care with your filming. I’ll say it again, whatever choice you make, you still have me, your younger brother,” Bright Sampton said as he hugged Jane Sampson, surprisingly emotional so early in the morning.

Perhaps Bright Sampton really was the person who understood Jane Sampson best in this world.

He grew up with her, watching her transform from a carefree girl who laughed every day into the person she was now. He knew when she was pretending and when it was the real her.

So Bright Sampton thought, if one day Jane’s wings were fully grown and it was time for her to fly high, he hoped she would soar lightly into the sky, chasing the desires of her heart.

Jane Sampson hugged Bright Sampton back and made a soft sound of agreement.

This was the secret understanding between the siblings, unspoken and undeclared.

After handling all the procedures, Jane sat in the airport VIP lounge looking at her mobile phone. Presumably thinking she hadn’t woken up yet, Mother Sampton sent a text message suggesting Jane choose a day in the next couple of days to come home and have a meal with the family.

It wasn’t the weekend, so Bright Sampton would be at school.

James Black was with the guard team.

So, the so-called family members were probably just Mother Sampton and Julie Sampton.

And Father Sampton was mostly likely not returning home due to socializing outside.

Jane Sampson dimmed her mobile phone screen and tucked the phone away. She sat in the VIP Room with a cup of hot milk in front of her, still steaming gently.

Next to her sat a man in a black suit. His hair wasn’t long, a bit of hair wax slicked it back, but his body bore no scent of hair wax, suggesting he had put thought into selecting the wax’s brand.

This hairstyle didn’t make him appear greasy or overly polished. Instead, it gave him a sprightly, invigorated look.

Being close, Jane Sampson could smell the faint, pleasant scent of men’s perfume on him. She wasn’t familiar with such things for boys, but this scent was just the right touch of agreeableness.
