CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 268: Chapter 276: What a Coincidence

”Alright,” Jane Sampson nodded in agreement, then smiled, ”Luckily, I’ve wrapped up filming! Even if I’ve sprained my wrist, it won’t hold back the film crew’s schedule because of me.”

”You know,” Daniel Taylor felt, ”even if you really did delay things, this is a work injury. It’s only right to give you a few days off.” Jane Sampson seemed carefree and blissful on the surface, but deep down, she was an extremely sensitive and anxious person.

Jane’s standards for herself were very high, so high that she was almost excessively harsh on herself. She seemed to fear causing trouble for others, and even more so, she feared being disliked and rejected because of that.

This aspect of Jane made her even more endearing than Evelyn Woods, which was why Daniel Taylor always wanted to treat Jane a little bit better, every single time.

Jane Sampson and Quincy Forest took a car to the hospital, and in the end, Assistant King had to follow Jane and Quincy there.

Quincy could truly be seen with red eyes the entire way to the hospital. When Jane entered the radiology room for her scan, Quincy was waiting outside, her voice breaking whenever she took a call.

”Hello, Cousin,” Quincy’s voice was thick with sobs, even those three words quivered.

Even now, the image of Jane falling from a height in front of her still terrified Quincy, filling her with dread.

”Where are you?” Hearing Quincy crying on the phone, Kane Forest’s heart leaped with concern.

”I’m at the doorway of the radiology department at Spring City Hospital,” Quincy replied.

Kane was about to ask why Quincy had suddenly gone to the hospital and if something had happened when Quincy hung up.

Because Jane had come out from inside.

So, Kane Forest, who just happened to be at the wine market, practically flew to the hospital to find his sister.

While waiting for the scan results, Jane Sampson and Quincy sat at the doorway. King went to buy water for them. When Kane Forest arrived in a rush, what he saw was not only Quincy with her eyes red from crying but also a woman sitting with her head down, dressed in, umm, unusual attire.

”Jasmine Seven,” Kane approached, ”are you hurt anywhere?”

”Cousin, why are you here?” Quincy quickly lifted her head when she heard someone calling her and was surprised to see her cousin Kane Forest, whom she’d been told would visit her small town but hadn’t found the time yet.

”How could I not come after you cried like that on the phone?” Kane Forest said with a hint of headache, ”I’m free tomorrow, and I was planning on traveling overnight to see you in the small town.”

”I’m alright, it’s my friend who’s injured. She hurt herself while filming,” Quincy pointed to Jane’s right hand, which hadn’t moved all night long, ”Her right hand is injured, look, it’s all swollen now.”

Only when Quincy spoke did Jane lift her head and look towards her cousin, surprised to see a familiar face. ”What a coincidence, it’s you?” Jane smiled at Kane, ”I don’t think it’s serious. But Jasmine here is a crybaby, she has been crying all afternoon.”

”It’s you.” Although Kane had only seen this woman once before, he recognized her immediately.

It was the girl sitting next to him in the airport VIP lounge that day.

A beautiful girl, memorable wherever she went.

Kane was just a little surprised to find out that she was an actor.

To be honest, recalling their first encounter in the VIP room, Kane thought that she didn’t fit the part, because her gaze was so clear and pure, lacking the restlessness and superficiality of other female stars in the circle.

No matter where you go, having money, power, and connections makes things easier. As soon as Kane arrived, he used his contacts, and the results of Jane’s medical examination were out early.
