CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 262: Chapter 270: It’s Faith

”James Black has blocked you and isn’t replying to your texts or answering your calls?” Nina Rice chuckled slyly, ”Jane Sampson, aren’t you the one who wants to divorce? So, since he’s this angry, shouldn’t you be happily waiting for him to suggest a divorce? Or strike while the iron is hot and bring up divorce yourself. At this time, when he’s so infuriated, he might just agree impulsively, don’t you think?”

”Divorce?”

Jane Sampson tousled her fine hair at her forehead.

It seemed she had never thought about taking this opportunity to propose divorce to James Black.

”I had a significant hand in the wrongdoing this time, and his anger is justified. So if I were to suggest a divorce now, that would be taking advantage of his vulnerability, causing him to become a divorcee because of me. Since I was young, I’ve understood one principle: one must be ethical in their conduct.” Jane Sampson’s reply was solemn and serious.

”Pfft.” Nina Rice couldn’t help but laugh inwardly. Not wanting to divorce but coming up with such a high-sounding excuse.

Nina thought, with James Black’s conditions, even if he became a divorcee because of Jane Sampson, if he decided to remarry, wouldn’t there be a bunch of girls lined up for his status and the Black Family’s wealth, scrambling to marry him?

Finding a wife like Jane Sampson, not after money or status, might be difficult for James, but wives after his wealth? Weren’t they practically forming a line to the Pacific Ocean?

”If you really want to make it up to him, start by telling me, what’s the matter he’s not talking to you about?” Nina asked.

Jane Sampson then told Nina about how she had acute high altitude disease in the small town last weekend, how James rushed over to take her to the hospital, then brought her back to the Capital Province. Of course, she also mentioned her agreement to obediently wait at home until he came back for the weekend, but as soon as he returned to the guard team, she would again head to the guard team the next day.

”Plus, I talked back to him a few times on the phone, and then James just stopped communicating with me.” Jane Sampson’s expression was one of hurt, ”The film crew has already rearranged the schedule here, and I don’t want to delay the work of the entire crew just because of me. Even though the director has offered to reschedule my filming times, I don’t think that’s right.”

For a newcomer like her to have the entire cast and crew accommodate her schedule and plans, Jane Sampson didn’t want to be accused one day of being arrogant and acting like a prima donna.

Those were not good comments for an actor, a public figure.

Jane Sampson had realized from the moment she decided to take this path that it was not an easy journey; she would need to forge ahead, cutting through thorns.

Having set out on this journey, having taken the initiative toward the belief in her heart, she didn’t want to give up halfway, not just when she was beginning to try, and bury herself at the starting line.

She harbored a dream in her heart.

No, it was not a dream.

It was faith.

She kept it hidden for two lifetimes, and finally found the courage to pursue it.

She could foresee the myriad storms of bloodshed she would face in the future, but since her rebirth, she resolved to fearlessly pursue what she wanted to do.

Only those who have died once truly understand the value of life.

That time she met death, her heart was filled with only one regret.

In this lifetime, Jane Sampson did not want to continue harboring that regret.

”Choosing between work and a lover is indeed a difficult choice,” Nina Rice said with profound meaning, ”Choosing a lover means failing your work, choosing work means failing your lover. The world’s greatest dilemma is probably choosing between a wife and a mother, and the second greatest is between work and love.”
