CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 299: Chapter 307: Chance Encounter

Kane Forest first noticed that the girl was using her left hand to grab stuff and then holding them with her left arm. It wasn’t until the girl stood up and turned around that Kane Forest recognized her.

What a coincidence, it was Jasmine Seven’s friend, Jane Sampson.

The two had just met yesterday.

”Miss Sampson, what a coincidence.” Jane Sampson had already looked over at him, and since he’d seen her, Kane Forest walked over to greet her politely and expressed his concern, ”How’s your hand?”

”It’s alright, I just keep forgetting and try to use my right hand to grab things.” Jane Sampson giggled.

Kane Forest’s lips curled up in a smile. He had noticed just now she indeed stretched out her right hand briefly before exclaiming ”ow” and quickly switching to her left hand.

”What a coincidence, Mr. Forest also comes to the supermarket? Are you alone?” Jane Sampson thought to herself that among the people she’d met, Kane Forest must be the most down-to-earth boss.

She figured that even James Black was unlikely to come to the supermarket alone.

And Jane Sampson noted that Kane Forest’s shopping cart was filled with lots of fresh vegetables; to be honest, when it came to buying groceries, Kane Forest’s skills were leagues ahead of James Black.

”Yeah, I had no plans for the weekend, got up early, and live nearby, so I decided to come and buy some stuff to stock the refrigerator at home,” Kane Forest explained, ”I like to cook for myself when I have some free time.”

”That’s a good habit,” Jane Sampson sincerely complimented, ”Nowadays, in such a fast-paced city, there are very few people who still have good habits like Mr. Forest.”

”Sometimes, when I’m feeling down, cooking helps release mental stress,” Kane Forest laughed.

Jane Sampson nodded in agreement. For instance, when she was feeling upset, she would particularly feel like creating some of her ”dark cuisine” to send over to the guard team for Peter Gingery to taste.

If Peter Gingery suffered, she would feel a bit happier.

If she could get James Black to taste it too, she would probably be even happier.

Of course, she had entertained this thought for years, but she had never actually put it into practice.

From Jane Sampson’s vigorous nodding, Kane Forest could tell that Jane Sampson also cooked, which surprised him a bit.

Jane Sampson was an actress, and not from an ordinary background, so girls like her who are also willing to cook were becoming rarer and rarer. Kane Forest then asked what dishes Jane Sampson excelled at, and from that topic, the conversation between the two started to become quite unstoppable. Kane Forest had already finished shopping, so he accompanied Jane Sampson while she shopped, and when he saw she was struggling to carry her items, he even took it upon himself to take her stuff and put it into his own shopping cart.

The two chatted and laughed merrily, having a thoroughly enjoyable time.

It wasn’t until they were lined up at the cashier’s that they stopped talking about cooking. Jane Sampson generously shared with Kane Forest her recipe for hand-made beef meatballs.

”It seems Miss Sampson’s culinary skills are indeed superb. If the chance arises, the two of us could exchange cooking tips. After all, before I took over the company, I aspired to be a famous chef,” Kane Forest half-jokingly said, then glanced at the items Jane Sampson had bought and added, ”Next time, Miss Sampson, you might want to push a shopping cart in from the doorway. That way, it won’t be so exhausting to pick up your stuff.”

”I did get a shopping cart, it’s at...” Jane Sampson began to reply, right before her expression suddenly froze and she slapped her forehead hard.

She’d been feeling since she arrived at the cashier’s counter that she must have forgotten something very important.
