CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 254: Chapter 262: Not That Bad

Thinking of this, Quincy Forest couldn’t help but laugh, ”My mother really likes you, but it’s good that she doesn’t know you’re already married.”

”Why is it good that she doesn’t know?” Jane Sampson wondered.

”Ever since I was little, you were the child from another family that my mother always talked about. I was the one she compared to you, only to look down on me. It wasn’t until a few years ago, when there was no news from you, that my mother finally gave it a rest. If my mom knew you had become a wife and mother, you would become the praised ’child from another family’ in her stories once again.”

Quincy Forest shook her head in reflection, ”During our school days, you played the piano well, were independent and confident, and you were especially beautiful. Most importantly, you were talented and did so well in school, didn’t date early, and got married right after university. Your life path has become an example for every parent, never once giving them cause for concern.”

Quincy Forest stuck out her tongue, ”If my mom knew you were married, she’d definitely urge me to go on blind dates, hoping I’d quickly follow in your footsteps.”

If that family’s child is married, how can our family’s child be left behind?

Quincy Forest was certain that her mother was exactly that type of mom.

”Your mother is just teasing you. No matter how much she praises other children, in her heart, her own child is always the best,” Jane Sampson said with self-deprecating laughter.

Indeed, that was true. Seeing Quincy Forest, the heiress of the Forest Clan Group, living a carefree life made it clear that the Forest Family really spoiled and doted on their daughter.

Quincy Forest giggled and didn’t argue with Jane Sampson, not noticing the hint of envy in her tone.

After Jane Sampson finished speaking, Quincy Forest patted her on the shoulder with a look of sympathy, ”It must be hard being married to James Black. I’ve decided, I’m going to treat you twice as well from now on.”

”...” Jane Sampson touched the tip of her nose and whispered a defense for James Black, ”He’s not as bad as you say, right?”

”He’s not bad?” Quincy Forest asked in surprise, ”He has a good temperament?”

Easy to get angry, that can’t be considered good, right? Jane Sampson asked herself inwardly.

”Does he take you out to a romantic dining hall for a meal on Valentine’s Day, buy you the freshest flowers, and prepare a big surprise gift? Does he call you every day to say good night? Does he call to wake you up in the morning?” Quincy Forest continued to inquire.

Jane Sampson shook her head repeatedly, feeling creepy at the thought of James Black doing any of these things one day.

”Does he do everything you say? Buy you the food you like? Buy you the jewelry and clothes you like? Does he hold you and call you his treasured little cutie?”

No, no, no.

Jane Sampson answered with several no’s in her mind.

James Black only ever argued with her. The potato chips and ice cream she liked to eat, he wouldn’t let her have.

As for the jewelry and clothes she liked?

James Black hardly cared about what jewelry she wore; however, he would occasionally pay attention to her clothes.

Too short, not allowed to wear; too revealing, not allowed to wear.

And as for terms of endearment like treasure and cutie, Jane Sampson didn’t even dare to think about them. She’d bet that James Black couldn’t say such syrupy words in a lifetime.

”So, with all that, isn’t it distressing to be married to him?” Quincy Forest shrugged, ”The key point is, he’s a guard. I heard from my brother that most of the time he’s with the guard team, and can’t even come home twice a year. Married or not, what’s the difference to you?”
