CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 280: Chapter 288: You’re So Childish

But it was just a fleeting moment.

Jane Sampson quickly regained her composure, and with a sulky expression she took her bowl back, her eyes filled with grievance as she quaintly said, ”James Black, you’re so childish.”

After that, she tapped her bowl with the soup scoop and made a snorting sound to express her disdain for James Black’s behavior just now.

But after snorting, Jane Sampson couldn’t help but ask, ”Is it good?”

”Not bad,” James Black replied ambiguously to Jane Sampson.

So, was ”not bad” good or barely edible?

For the first time, Jane Sampson had a big disagreement with the phrase ”not bad.”

Seeing Jane Sampson frowning at the plate of sweet and sour pork, her eyebrows nearly knotting, James Black found teasing Jane Sampson to be quite amusing. She was obviously craving it but still tried to act indifferent.

Only after having his fill of teasing did James Black place a chopstick-full of sweet and sour pork onto her soup scoop, and Jane, like she was afraid James would take it back, quickly put it in her mouth.

James Black could tell from Jane Sampson’s expression that she enjoyed the dish just as much as she liked the braised noodles.

James Black had already eaten dinner before coming over, so after his play with Jane, he just sat next to her without any intention of eating more. The rest of the time, he acted like a competent personal butler, watching where Emperor Sampson’s gaze landed, and without needing a word from her, he would reach out and serve her the food first.

Perhaps it was because the meals were too delicious, or James served too much, but by the time Jane Sampson put down her chopsticks, she felt a bit sheepish to find herself overfull.

Later, when James Black was cleaning, Jane Sampson started to follow him like a little tail, inseparable from his side.

As he washed dishes in the kitchen, she paced back and forth behind him, under the beautiful pretext of ”helping digestion.”

When he was mopping the living room floor, she sat cross-legged on the sofa like an empress, directing James where he hadn’t cleaned thoroughly.

When James grew tired of her nagging, tossed a mop to her, and after she haphazardly ”helped” for a few minutes with one hand from her left behind him until he finally, unable to bear it any longer, pushed her into the already-clean bedroom.

”Sit for another ten minutes, then go wash your head and take a bath,” James pointed to the bedroom entrance, ”don’t come out until I’m done cleaning.”

After that, James added, ”Call me if you need anything.”

It wasn’t until Jane Sampson pursed her lips in displeasure and nodded that he left the bedroom to continue his chores.

Jane Sampson leaned at the bedroom entrance to admire James Black’s departing figure for a few minutes before eventually letting out a belch and then turned into the bedroom to start playing with her mobile phone.

With nothing better to do, Jane Sampson began scrolling through Moments, and to her surprise, one particular post seemed to be unusually frequent.

——Poverty limits my imagination. So beautiful, I want it so badly, tonight I’m going to bed early to dream sweetly. Reality is harsh, but dreaming is always possible, right?

The photo was of JK’s lipstick.

This lipstick had actually been on the market for many years; the case was crafted from 110g of 18K gold and embellished with 199 diamonds totaling 2.2 carats.

Of course, the key point was, it was priced at 350,000.

The years-old lipstick, suddenly resurfaced as a viral post in Moments once again.

Jane Sampson laughed at the comments underneath Nina Rice’s post, then she copied and pasted it, with the image attached, without changing a single word before posting it on her Moments.
