I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 874: Chapter 873: Do You Know Fighting Talismans?

Brother Shiguang had been watching continuously for two days, still waiting in vain for Beisitian and the others to return. Realizing that something was amiss, it was either that Beisitian and the others hadn’t noticed the mark he left or the mark itself had some issue.

With the aunt’s cleverness, it was unlikely she wouldn’t notice in such a small room, so it was mostly the second possibility.

If that’s the case, it explains everything; he must be under surveillance by those people.

Brother Shiguang planned to have no interaction with Luo Yirui. Yesterday, he went to the small courtyard late at night, found Brother Tian Zhi guarding the side room, and explained the situation to him.

Brother Tian Zhi said to let him continue as he is now. Brother Shiguang couldn’t help with much anyway; delivering the message was enough to complete the task.

That day, Brother Shiguang hadn’t intended to come to the school. After all, the message had reached the small courtyard, and all he had to do was wait for Beisitian to return or the small courtyard to take action. However, he still came for some reason.

From afar, he watched Luo Yirui’s small figure walking under the sunset glow, his shadow stretched long, only turning away once he disappeared from his sight.

Construction had begun here, with six-story north-south facing buildings, a refreshing change from the bungalows. Many people were willing to buy a unit for its prestigious feel.

The buildings had been completed, leaving only the renovation and occupancy. Walking between the blocks, Brother Shiguang could be touched by the afterglow, yet his heart remained gloomy. No news from the Shi Family yet; he knew the longer the delay, the greater the danger.

”Brother Shiguang.” A childish voice sounded behind Brother Shiguang.

Brother Shiguang turned abruptly and saw Luo Yirui standing not far away with his schoolbag, his face full of inquiry. Unable to help his expression change, ”What are you doing here? Go home quickly!”

Luo Yirui knew Brother Shiguang had been following him for two days. If he remembered correctly, he should have gone to Ningjin County with his mother. Why was he here, and why was he following him?

Seeing Brother Shiguang’s panicked expression, Luo Yirui was also taken aback, ”What’s wrong?”

Brother Shiguang’s face became serious as he looked around, seeing no suspicious people. He quickly grabbed Luo Yirui’s hand and walked toward the wide street.

Though uncertain, he had always had a thought that these people might want to use him to lure Luo Yirui to some remote place for capture. After all, Beijing was Qingyu’s turf; those people had to be cautious.

The buildings here hadn’t officially moved in yet; at this hour, the workers had left, so there were pitifully few people. If Luo Yirui was their target, they might act in this kind of place!

Just as that thought settled, two men appeared ahead. They had their hands in their pockets, sauntering over carelessly.

Seeing their appearance, Brother Shiguang sighed in relief. Such casual hooligans shouldn’t be part of that group. As he mused, he felt his hand tighten. Turning back, he saw Luo Yirui had stopped, refusing to be dragged any further.

”What are you doing? Leave here with me!” Brother Shiguang, naturally impatient, had no patience at that moment.

Luo Yirui shook his head, ”We’re surrounded.”

Brother Shiguang was taken aback, quickly surveying the area. There were only the two men approaching, nothing else. ”Just two people.”

Luo Yirui’s gaze was heavy on the left path.

The people hidden there suddenly felt an eerie chill. For some reason, when the child looked over, it felt like his eyes could pierce the darkness, seeing them clear as day.

If it was just one person feeling this way, it might be dismissed, but both had this strange sensation. They exchanged a look, a thought flashing in their minds simultaneously: the child had spotted them!

”Brother Shiguang, how is your fighting talisman?” Luo Yirui suddenly asked.

Brother Shiguang was caught off guard by the question, momentarily at a loss for how to answer. How was it? He hadn’t even succeeded in making a Spiritual Talisman; how could he fight with talismans!

However, confessing incompetence to a child felt too embarrassing.

Luo Yirui glanced around, ”A total of five people, I’ll handle two, you manage three!”

Brother Shiguang was baffled, opening his mouth, ”Why?”

Luo Yirui was equally surprised, looking up, ”You’re older than me, shouldn’t you handle more?”

Brother Shiguang pursed his lips, his brows twitching. He truly had no rebuttal for this logic. Could he resort to hand-to-hand combat? In truth, that’s all he had!

Luo Yirui wasn’t entirely confident either. He sensed their spirit, not very strong but likely Mystic Doctor types. If they could also fight with talismans, then today might be troublesome.

If we can’t escape, then we’ll shout for help. After all, it wasn’t truly an uninhabited area; some passerby might hear!

But for now, that can’t be done yet. Luo Yirui felt a stirring excitement; since that event, nothing intriguing had happened. Encountering this today, he felt it was targeted at him, eager to use the chance to test himself again!

So... no rush to call for help.

Brother Shiguang saw Luo Yirui calm and unbothered, unaware he’d already prepared his ’exit strategy,’ wondering why he couldn’t match up to a five-year-old?

With that in mind, he took several deep breaths, steadying himself. As he initiated the matter, Luo Yirui, being the aunt’s son, absolutely couldn’t be allowed to get hurt!

”I’ll break through this way, distracting the two men. You run to the main street, back to school, and find the teacher!” Brother Shiguang said in a lowered voice.

It was too far to run back to the small courtyard; realistically, with Luo Yirui’s small limbs, he’d likely be captured before running a hundred meters, so the school was the best option. Those people couldn’t possibly kidnap someone in broad daylight!

Turning back, Brother Shiguang saw Luo Yirui holding a talisman in one hand and a pen in the other, primed for battle...

”The Spiritual Talisman and fighting talisman are different...” Brother Shiguang couldn’t help but remind.

Using means meant for healing and saving to fight drained extraordinary energy and stamina, unlike usual times. Luo Yirui’s Spiritual Talisman was already impressive; if he could fight with talismans too... how could others even compete?

Not far away, a man monitoring the scene put down his binoculars, asking Zhou Quan beside him, ”Brother Quan, should we act?”

Zhou Quan shook his head, ”The boss said as long as their lives aren’t endangered, we don’t intervene.”

The man opened his mouth, thinking the boss was ruthlessly indifferent. Down there was his own son, wouldn’t he be heartbroken if the child was hurt?

Yet, in the next moment, he thought otherwise.
