I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 870: Chapter 869: Absorbing Qi Xindao

Shi Guang keenly realized that this matter was not simple, but complexity was exactly what he needed; if it were simple, where would he find the Shi Family?

”In that case, perhaps the Shi Family ran into trouble along the way,” Wei Zhongxun said.

With a tilt of his head, Tian Zhi looked at him, ”Are you referring to the day Zhang Di went missing on the way to Beijing, Brother Xun?”

Shi Guang was startled and quickly asked what happened, only to discover that when Zhang Di led the team to Beijing, they suddenly lost trace for a day. The entire team vanished without a trace; no one could find where they went or what they did. A day later, they appeared at a small local motel and resumed their journey the next day.

It was likely during that time that someone in the team was swapped out, replaced with someone else.

So where did the Shi Family go?

With such a clue, Shi Guang felt he had to visit the county where Zhang Di went missing!

Beisitian wanted him to wait and go together with her and the others once they returned from Qi Xindao, but Shi Guang didn’t have the luxury of time; he feared losing more clues the longer he waited, so he set off from the small courtyard the next day.

Before leaving, Shi Guang gave her his new contact number to stay in touch.

Beisitian assured him she would soon join him, and Shi Guang left with a heavy nod, without uttering a word of thanks; at this moment, gratitude seemed excessive. Regardless of whether they rescued the Shi Family, as long as he lived, he would repay Beisitian.

Beisitian found Wu Yuekai and explained her purpose, seeking his thoughts.

Wu Yuekai set down his teacup and said with slight surprise, ”If you want people, just go ask Zhou Biwu; aren’t you collaborating now?”

Beisitian was stunned, ”Will Hawkeye’s people listen to Zhou Biwu?”

This time, it was Wu Yuekai’s turn to be surprised, ”Why wouldn’t they? Hawkeye might be special, but they’re still soldiers, and soldiers should follow orders!”

Beisitian pursed her lips and then smiled bitterly; she was trapped by habitual thinking, always considering Mystical Medical School members to be proud, so she assumed Hawkeye would be the same. But she forgot Hawkeye were soldiers first, no matter how unique, they belong to the Military Department.

Having understood this point, Beisitian felt somewhat embarrassed, naturally getting teased by the old man. She promptly left the Red Painted Courtyard to directly request people from Zhou Biwu.

Zhou Biwu wasn’t surprised to see Beisitian; he knew she would come. However, he didn’t expect her to hold out until now.

If Beisitian knew his thoughts, she’d probably feel embarrassed; it wasn’t about being patient, it was simply that she hadn’t thought of directly asking for people.

”Coincidentally, Cheng Shuwei is also here; I’ll have him come over,” Zhou Biwu said.

Beisitian sensed Zhou Biwu’s intentions weren’t that simple, specifically calling Cheng Shuwei, and remembering Cheng Shuwei approached her before. Could the Military Department be aiming to establish long-term cooperation with Qingyu?

Cheng Shuwei arrived quickly, dressed differently this time in an army-green uniform, his stature upright, exuding a military efficiency and straightforwardness. If this were the first time seeing him, Beisitian couldn’t imagine he was a Mystic Doctor by nature.

After saluting Zhou Biwu, Cheng Shuwei greeted Beisitian, ”Nice to see you again, Doctor Bei.”

Beisitian smiled and shook his hand, then they both sat down.

”I came this time hoping to leverage Qi Xindao’s power,” Beisitian said.

Cheng Shuwei nodded, ”General Zhou has already informed me; taking Qi Xindao away is fine, but we have conditions. Hawkeye’s personnel must follow 24/7 since Qi Xindao is extremely dangerous now.”

This danger manifests in two aspects: first, he is capable of breeding hypnotic bacteria, a forbidden product; second, his singular mindset—show him a photo, and he’ll go work for others—it’s terrifying just to think.

In fact, this singular mindset of Qi Xindao saved him; if he weren’t so ’pure,’ he’d face worse than Hawkeye’s house arrest now. Since he bears no malice, Hawkeye’s handling was relatively humane.

Moreover, Beisitian knew the Qi Family is the only entity that can keep Qi Xindao in check. The Military Department promptly transferred Qi Xiu Hui’s husband to Beijing for closer supervision.

Also, Qi Xiu Hui’s father and brother have been redeployed into local institutions for tight protection.

This setup ensures no one can exploit Qi Xindao further; it would be best if Qingyu could absorb Qi Xindao.

However, Beisitian was perplexed, ”Why doesn’t the Military Department take in Qi Xindao?”

Don’t mention blemishes or anything; these reasons don’t exist. Such a talent should be in their hands for peace of mind.

Zhou Biwu and Cheng Shuwei exchanged looks, didn’t they want to absorb Qi Xindao into the Military Department? Offering high-level civilian positions for research in the department’s rear areas wouldn’t be good?

No need to worry about Qi Xindao being captured for malicious use, no need to worry about him roaming freely; this was obviously the best.

But Qi Xindao was unwilling!

Many years ago, an incident that the Military Department was aware of occurred; Qi Xindao was then a specially appointed Mystic Doctor for them. Since then, he refused to associate with the Military Department.

Zhou Biwu expressed helplessness too, why blame the Military Department for an accident?

Qi Xindao stated, no choice, he hates the Military Department from the bottom of his heart!

Therefore, the Military Department’s attempt to absorb Qi Xindao failed, yet they couldn’t allow him to continue retreating to the mountains. What if someone showed a photo and he emerged again? That would be troublesome.

Dividing personnel to oversee Qi Xindao was also impractical, watching him a lifetime? Given the lifespan of the Mystic Doctors, if it spanned twenty to thirty years, for ordinary people, that’s a third of their life.

Thus, the best solution now is finding a trustworthy school to absorb Qi Xindao!

Zhou Biwu immediate想到 Bei思甜’s Qingyu!

Besides his personal preference for Beisitian, the composition of Beisitian’s family best gets the Military Department’s confidence among Mystic Doctor schools.

Moreover, Beisitian just concluded the first collaboration with the Military Department, the cooperation went smoothly, it might be described as perfect. Under Zhou Biwu’s guidance, they considered establishing long-term collaboration with Qingyu.

Absorbing Qi Xindao posed no pressure for Beisitian, but establishing long-term cooperation with the Military Department required more contemplation.

Any cooperation involves benefits; if her interests fail to align with the Military Department’s?

”Give me some time,” Beisitian said.

Zhou Biwu nodded, ”No rush to give me an answer.”
