I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 129: Chapter 129: Wolf Pack

Zhuangzhuang’s strange behavior didn’t attract much attention. They watched Zhang Shuncai walk toward Beisitian, and everyone’s hearts tensed up.

Although Beisitian was said to be a young widow, she was actually a young maiden. If a man beat her up in the street, she’d probably end up hanging herself!

Many people were growing nervous in their hearts, but they heard a rumbling sound in their ears, like a herd of sheep running.

The sound grew louder and louder, and many villagers curiously looked around. The sound seemed to be coming from the big road on the west side of the house.

Whose sheep are running so wildly?

Most people had this thought flash through their minds.

Zhang Shuncai wasn’t going to care about any runaway sheep now; he was determined to teach the young widow a lesson, scare her so she would shake with fear at the mention of his name in the future!

The three Zhang Family brothers didn’t notice the rumbling sound, but some idle residents did.

They looked toward the village avenue and saw a lot of dust being kicked up.

The village avenue was still paved with square bricks; it was frequently traveled by horse-drawn carts and donkey carts, making it quite uneven, so naturally it was dusty.

Those standing high up saw large shadows in the dust, like small calves, but who would have so many small calves? It looked like there were about a dozen.

Soon, they saw clearly what those ’small calves’ were, and immediately turned pale with fright. Many people were so scared they couldn’t speak; they just kept pulling their family members to run back home.

The sound grew louder, and more and more people could see clearly. Everyone who saw was scared out of their wits, running madly home to bolt the door, yet they all peeked outside through the cracks.

After all, this scene was not something you saw often!

Zhang Shuncai saw Beisitian’s calm and fearless expression, and a fire of anger flared in his heart. This dead girl, was she really not scared at all?!

Thinking this, he acted viciously and reached out to strangle Beisitian’s neck.

At that moment, Zhang Shungui’s voice suddenly shouted with overwhelming fear, ”Brother, get out of the way!”

As soon as Zhang Shuncai heard, he felt a huge black shadow pounce from the left. He immediately turned to look and saw a pair of sharp claws before being knocked down hard!

Everything happened so suddenly. As they came to their senses, everyone saw a wolf pinning Zhang Shuncai down, its sharp teeth bared, with slobber dripping down onto Zhang Shuncai.

Zhang Shuncai saw the wolf’s head so close and was utterly petrified!

The people around were equally silent—not because they didn’t want to scream, but because around them were about a dozen large wolves staring at them with ghostly eyes, not daring to move an inch!

Some timid women and children, seeing these wolf-sized creatures, had weak legs and sat down in succession, but they dared not run. The wolves surrounded them in a circle.

Anyone who dared to run at this point would surely be the first to be bitten to death!

Soon, an even bigger and stronger wolf walked over with a slow pace, its cold eyes making one shiver just by looking.

But the next moment left everyone’s jaws dropping.

The big wolf strode to Beisitian’s side and suddenly wagged its tail, nudging its head against her palm.

Beisitian laughed and patted its head, while Zhuangzhuang quickly ran over to nuzzle the big wolf.

Zhang Shungui and Zhang Shunfu, seeing this scene, were dumbfounded. Why was Beisitian so close with these big wolves?

A thought suddenly flashed in their minds.

No wonder Beisitian knew their family was only left with three lambs!

It really was Beisitian’s doing!

But how could she command these big wolves? These were fierce beasts—not eating humans was good enough, let alone listening to people?!

Zhang Shuncai was almost fainting with fear. He lay on the ground, with a big wolf stepping on him, slobber soaking his chest, and the stench of the wolf’s mouth reeking of fresh blood—not to mention those terrifying steel teeth!

He wanted to call for help, but he dared not make a sound, fearing the wolf would bite him if he did!

Beisitian walked slowly to Zhang Shuncai, squatted down leisurely, and smiled slightly at the ashen-faced Zhang Shuncai, ”Looks like three lambs were still too much to leave you!”

Even if Zhang Shuncai had no brains, he knew what this meant. He trembled and gently shook his head, not knowing what to express.

Beisitian raised her hand and gently patted the wolfdog’s head, asking softly, ”Hungry?”

Upon hearing this, the color drained from Zhang Shuncai’s face and a strong smell of urine filled the air; he had wet himself from fear!

Beisitian frowned, ”Is this all your backbone? Where was that fierce courage just now?”

Zhang Shuncai’s body was tense, his eyes darting between Beisitian and the wolf’s head with its steel teeth, pleading in his eyes.

”Isn’t it a bit late to beg for mercy now? What were you planning to do to me just now? Tell me, okay?” Beisitian’s voice was gentle, but her words made Zhang Shuncai want to cry.

Zhang Shungui was equally terrified. So many wolves could easily tear them apart in seconds, but he couldn’t just watch his big brother die from wolf bites.

”Li-Little Tian’er... we were wrong; don’t let those wolves eat people...”

Zhang Shungui had no aura left, only a face full of fright.

Beside him, Zhang Shunfu’s chubby body was trembling fiercely, and as soon as he saw a wolf glaring at them ghostly and walking over, he was so scared that he turned and ran!

As he ran, the wolfdog became excited, howling and chasing him.

A human on two legs could never outrun a wolfdog on four; the wolfdog leapt and with momentum easily knocked the chubby body to the ground.

”Don’t eat me, don’t eat me! Please, don’t eat me!” Zhang Shunfu, in a panic, soon had a large wet patch on his pants.

The wolfdog, having knocked Zhang Shunfu to the ground, didn’t bite as expected by the onlookers. Instead, it sat on his back, turning its head to look at Beisitian.

Zhang Shungui thought he was going crazy because he saw in the wolf’s eyes a look of seeking praise!

Beisitian paid no attention to the others; she was still toying with Zhang Shuncai, needing to release all the anger she felt earlier!

The wolfdog clearly understood the simple question ”Hungry?” It instantly bared its teeth, staring eerily at Zhang Shuncai.

Zhang Shuncai saw the steel teeth so close to his face; he couldn’t take it anymore and fainted.

Seeing this, Zhang Shungui’s legs went weak, and he collapsed to the ground, muttering repeatedly, ”Don’t eat people... don’t eat people...”
