I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 109: Chapter 109: Get Out of the Way

Liu Chunyu was initially too emotional, constantly shedding tears and unable to speak, so it was only on the way that Beisitian learned about her mother Zhang Yuzhi’s condition.

This matter should start from the day when Liu Chunshu brought Liu Chunyu back from the town. Liu Chunshu still hadn’t found a work opportunity, and upon returning, he was forced by Carpenter Liu to learn a craft. Once a skill is learned, it lasts a lifetime, and whether or not one has work in the future, they won’t starve!

However, Liu Chunshu didn’t think much of carpentry; he didn’t want to learn it from the bottom of his heart. This time, because he couldn’t find work, he was forced to nail nails and do some simple work.

The problem arose from this work.

Because Liu Chunshu wasn’t focused, his work was coarse, and he hammered a two-inch nail at an angle. Later, the dog in the courtyard bumped into it, loosening the board with the nail until it fell onto the ground with the nail facing up.

As luck would have it, Zhang Yuzhi, carrying a washbasin, was tripped, and she fell right onto the board, the nail piercing directly into her chest!

Carpenter Liu heard the noise, and after a long moment without hearing anyone get up or swear, he hurried out to check and saw Zhang Yuzhi lying motionless on the ground. After flipping her over, he saw the large nail pinning the thin board to Zhang Yuzhi, and at the time, he was terrified.

Carpenter Liu hastily called his oldest son, and together they lifted Zhang Yuzhi onto the bed before rushing out to find Yang Wulang.

When Yang Wulang arrived and saw the situation, he shook his head. There was nothing he could do; if the nail was removed, the bleeding wouldn’t stop, and she could bleed to death. Looking at the position of the nail, Zhang Yuzhi was beyond help.

”Uncle Yang, please save my mother!” Liu Chunshu clutched Yang Wulang and wouldn’t let go. If it weren’t for his negligence and his slack approach, Zhang Yuzhi wouldn’t have been in this situation!

Yang Wulang could not move with Liu Chunshu holding him; all he could do was sigh. What could he do? In this situation, the only way was to go to a major hospital in the city, but just the bus ride took four to five hours, and in her condition, she might not survive halfway there.

Now she’s breathing more out than in!

Liu Chunyu sat woodenly by Zhang Yuzhi, her soul seemingly detached. Liu Chuncai, with tears in his eyes, looked around helplessly, occasionally leaning over the bed’s edge, softly calling ”Mom.”

Liu Chunshu’s wife, Yu Fenglian, stood aside, not saying a word. Normally, she didn’t have a great relationship with Zhang Yuzhi, and seeing her like this now, she had nothing to say.

”You’d better let go. I really can’t do anything.” Yang Wulang sighed, frowning. In such cases, one usually prepared for the worst.

”Uncle Yang, I’m begging you...please...” Liu Chunshu cried as he held onto Yang Wulang. ”What am I supposed to do...what should I do!”

This grown man, crying and snotting all over, surely filled with deep regret inside.

Yang Wulang stood still, unable to leave or help. He was also very frustrated, but hearing Liu Chunshu ask ’what should I do,’ he had a sudden idea.

”There’s nothing I can do, but maybe this: if there’s anyone left in the village who can save your mother, it’s only Beisitian from Luo Er’s family. If she can’t, then there’s really no help left.”

Yang Wulang wasn’t sure if Beisitian could handle this situation, but in the whole Kao Village, the only ones called doctors were him and Beisitian.

He had seen Beisitian’s skills some time ago, and remembering this now could at least give Liu Chunshu a way forward.

However, Liu Chunshu didn’t think so. Right now, his mind was hazy; he couldn’t comprehend why Yang Wulang directed him to the widow of Luo Er. Although he had heard him clearly, he felt like he must have misheard.

He was in a daze, but Liu Chunyu inside understood clearly. Her vacant eyes brightened, and she rushed out after putting on her shoes.

A matter of life and death, and since Liu Chunyu sought her out, she naturally couldn’t stand by.

When Beisitian followed Liu Chunyu home, Liu Chunshu was hugging his head, crying in the courtyard. Yu Fenglian was standing by, at a loss for what to say to console him.

Yang Wulang, seeing Beisitian arrive, immediately felt relieved. With someone else to focus on, it would save him from further awkwardness.

”Little Tian’er, you should go in and take a look, sigh!”

There wasn’t any leeway in this situation, and the nail was something he dared not touch.

Beisitian said nothing more and went into the east room.

The board was still nailed to Zhang Yuzhi. Looking at the nail’s position, it was indeed in the chest. Beisitian frowned, reaching out gently to touch the nail’s position.

Liu Chunshu, who followed closely behind, shouted, ”Stop! Don’t touch my mother!” With that, he reached out to push Beisitian away.

With Liu Chunshu’s strength, he was sure to send Beisitian flying.

”If you touch me, it will affect your mother.” Beisitian didn’t even look at him.

Liu Chunshu’s hand almost reached Beisitian but froze in mid-air upon hearing her words, seeing her hand already resting on the board. His expression immediately turned fierce.

”Remove your hand! Get out of our house!” Liu Chunshu said in a low voice.

Yang Wulang was puzzled seeing this; why was Carpenter Liu’s eldest treating Beisitian this way?

Beisitian ignored Liu Chunshu, gently stroking the nail and said, ”Thankfully, it didn’t really pierce the heart.”

If it had pierced the heart, even immortals couldn’t save her.

Yang Wulang, hearing this, disregarded Liu Chunshu’s attitude and hurriedly asked, ”Do you have a way?”

Beisitian frowned, remained silent, thought for a moment, which made Yang Wulang anxious, and then she finally said, ”Yes, but I don’t have anything handy. If I could find some silver needles, I might be able to remove the nail.”

”Silver needles? Acupuncture needles?” Yang Wulang asked.

Beisitian nodded.

Yang Wulang thought carefully. Previously, Doctor Bei in the village practiced traditional Chinese medicine, skilled in acupuncture, but now it was clear Beisitian didn’t have them, likely sold by Du Bapi.

What village still has a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner who can do acupuncture...

While Yang Wulang was thinking, Liu Chunshu started causing a ruckus again, baring his teeth and demanding Beisitian to leave, as if blaming her for his mother’s current state.

He was venting all his emotions on Beisitian, as he had always disliked her.

”Brother! Stop causing trouble! Little Tian’er said she has a way!” The usually gentle Liu Chunyu erupted, shouting at Liu Chunshu.

At that moment, Liu Chunshu was very irritable. Seeing that Beisitian’s hand was no longer on the board, he moved forward to shove her again.

Beisitian gave a slight snort, not about to let him touch her, and kicked towards his knee!

Liu Chunshu let out a painful cry and abruptly knelt down on one knee.

”Get out of the way!” Beisitian said coldly.
