I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 110: Chapter 110: Removing the Nail (Fifth Update, Please Vote for Me)

Liu Chunshu screamed miserably, falling to one knee on the ground, his face twisted in pain and unable to get up for a long time. Yu Fenglian, standing beside him, let out a shriek and hurried forward to try and help him up, tugging at him but failing to do so.

Beisitian’s kick landed right on his knee joint, numbing it directly, making it impossible for him to stand up until the sensation returned.

”You little widow, how dare you hit people?” Yu Fenglian glared with eyes wide open, looking as if she wanted to devour Beisitian.

”Enough!

Carpenter Liu, who hadn’t spoken until now, shouted sharply, glancing at Yu Fenglian, who immediately slumped down.

Carpenter Liu had heard all the previous words and was aware of some recent rumors, so at this moment he turned to Beisitian and said, ”Little Tian’er, your aunt is like this already, just use your methods.”

Yang Wulang had no other options; in Kao Village, there was no one else they could count on. As for the health bureau in town, Carpenter Liu hadn’t even considered it.

Seeing Beisitian remain silent, Liu Chunyu assumed she was angry about her brother’s matter and pleaded, ”Little Tian’er, please save my mother!”

Beisitian naturally wouldn’t act against Liu Chunshu and turned to look at Yang Wulang.

”There’s someone named Li Runtian in Shuangshui Village, whom I know, but whether we can borrow his help, I can’t guarantee,” Yang Wulang said.

”No matter what, we have to go once. I’ll go with Brother Yang,” said Carpenter Liu, worriedly furrowing his brows.

Before leaving, Carpenter Liu warned Liu Chunshu and Yu Fenglian, fearing they might delay things.

After the numbness in Liu Chunshu’s knee subsided, he was left with pain, so much so that he drew in cold breaths, and didn’t dare cause trouble for Beisitian again.

Previously, the stress had been too much for him. The plank was nailed to his mother’s body, glaringly reminding him that he was the one who caused this to happen to his mother, almost driving him insane.

But speaking of which, this damn girl’s kick was too strong!

After Beisitian’s kick, he calmed down a bit and wasn’t so irritable anymore. Yu Fenglian snorted coldly, simply turning away and returning to the house.

Liu Chunyu sat on the warm brick bed caring for her mother, while Liu Chunshu squatted on the ground holding his head, overwhelmed with anxiety, regret, and fear, feeling a mix of emotions.

Before long, Liu Chunyu suddenly exclaimed, ”Little Tian’er, why is my mother’s body so cold?”

As soon as Liu Chunshu heard this, he hurriedly stood up and ran over to grab his mother’s hand and found it indeed cold!

Beisitian gently touched the pulse under Zhang Yuzhi’s neck and said, ”We can only hope they hurry back.”

She didn’t say it was good or bad, and Liu Chunyu began to cry tearfully, while Liu Chunshu also started to sob softly.

Beisitian didn’t explain much; Zhang Yuzhi’s current condition was not very good, if they didn’t come back soon, she might not survive.

With her current spirit, she couldn’t rely solely on the Xuan Talisman to keep someone’s breath, if there were ginseng over 500 years old, it might barely keep her alive.

Not long after, there was the sound of the door opening, Yang Wulang and Carpenter Liu returned, handing the silver needle to Beisitian. Seeing them sweating profusely in such weather, it was obvious they had run there and back.

”Old Li was easy to talk to; he lent us the silver needle,” Yang Wulang said, wiping the sweat from his forehead.

”Chunyu, light the oil lamp,” Beisitian said, opening the needle pouch, ”tear her top open.”

Liu Chunyu quickly lit the oil lamp, and after a moment of hesitation, Liu Chunshu picked up the scissors from the sewing basket and started cutting the clothes.

Beisitian took the hair-thin silver needle and passed it over the lamp flame before skillfully inserting it into the acupoints around Zhang Fengzhi’s chest.

Beisitian’s technique was extremely proficient, and even though Yang Wulang didn’t understand acupuncture, he watched intently.

”Dilute this medicine powder in half a bowl of clear water,” Beisitian handed a small paper packet to Liu Chunyu.

Before Liu Chunyu could take it, Yang Wulang quickly grabbed it instead, ”I’ll do it, I’ll do it!”

Liu Chunyu followed Yang Wulang to get a bowl.

After the talisman powder was diluted in the bowl, Beisitian said, ”I’m going to remove the nail now.”

Upon hearing this, Yang Wulang and everyone else tensed up.

”Here’s the gauze,” Yang Wulang said, handing over two gauze pads wrapped with cotton, which Beisitian had asked for earlier.

Beisitian nodded, placing the two gauze pads within reach, gripping the wooden board with one hand and pressing on the surrounding acupoints with the other, she pulled the board out with a forceful jerk!

A rush of blood immediately gushed out, thick and bright red!

Liu Chunyu gasped and covered her mouth with her hands, unable to stop crying.

Standing at the back, Carpenter Liu and Liu Chunshu, along with Yu Fenglian, who stood even further back, all watched anxiously.

After pulling out the board, Beisitian quickly grabbed the gauze pad with her other hand and pressed it hard against the wound.

Yang Wulang took the blood-soaked board with a nail and placed it to the side, then quickly took the medicine water from Liu Chunyu, waiting for Beisitian’s instruction.

The gauze pad couldn’t completely stop the blood; red quickly spread across the gauze pad, yet Beisitian didn’t release her hold. She prepared an open packet of talisman powder and, at the right moment, lifted the gauze pad and sprinkled the talisman powder over the wound.

The talisman powder immediately mixed with the flowing blood, and Beisitian pressed the second gauze pad onto the wound.

Yang Wulang watched closely, recalling that when the nail was removed, far less blood flowed, certainly thanks to the acupuncture of acupoints. Yet, at this rate, Zhang Yuzhi would still lose her life.

The second gauze pad quickly soaked up blood from the bottom, and Yang Wulang felt a pang of regret in his heart as the bleeding hadn’t been stopped!

However, very soon, the spread of blood slowed down and stopped at less than half of the gauze pad.

”It’s stopped!” Yang Wulang exclaimed joyfully.

Behind him, Carpenter Liu and the others heaved a sigh of relief.

”It’s not over yet,” Beisitian said solemnly, ”Bring the medicine water.”

Yang Wulang quickly handed over the bowl, and Beisitian gently massaged Zhang Yuzhi’s throat to help her swallow the talismanic water.

Yang Wulang was seeing this method for the first time, watching intently but unable to grasp its essence.

The talismanic water was fed slowly, yet some was still wasted; however, most of it went down, and at least Zhang Fengzhi’s life was saved!

”Her body is still cold!” Liu Chunyu exclaimed anxiously.

Zhang Yuzhi’s breathing was extremely weak, but Beisitian’s hand occasionally checked her pulse beneath the neck, which had gradually stabilized.

Yang Wulang helped clean the wound and then wrapped it with gauze, while Beisitian mixed talisman powder inside to aid healing and prevent infection.

”Don’t worry about that. I will prepare some prescriptions for you. Drink them with the medicinal water I provided and change the dressing on time. Once the breathing stabilizes, she will wake up soon,” Beisitian said.

Carpenter Liu’s family hadn’t thought that Beisitian could actually save the person, recalling the nail-removal scene from earlier, they found it thrilling.
