I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Finally Effective

The people from the Li Family coming out didn’t surprise Beisitian, but Liu Chunshu standing up was somewhat unexpected for her. It seems this person isn’t entirely hopeless.

Even if two grown men stood up, let alone two wives, Du Chunmei still wouldn’t be a match. Seeing the situation, she dared not jump forward; she cast a fierce glance at Beisitian and turned to run away.

Seeing nothing exciting happen, people around began to walk away, but their eyes lingered on Beisitian, filled with both pity and curiosity.

Mrs. Qin, although unable to see clearly, knew without thinking what kind of looks Beisitian was facing now and felt quite heartbroken.

However, Beisitian didn’t care about these at all, gently patting Mrs. Qin’s hand, indicating that there was no need to worry too much.

The man’s name was Li Jianshu. Beisitian approached him and smiled to express her gratitude, while his wife stood aside holding their child, still watching Du Chunmei’s retreating figure.

”People like that, whenever she comes to the village, we’ll beat her up!” she said to her husband.

Bullying their benefactor in front of so many people was essentially bullying them! Jianshu’s wife was genuinely angry.

After thanking Li Jianshu and his wife, Beisitian approached Liu Chunshu.

Just as Liu Chunshu was about to wave his hand dismissively, Beisitian looked up calmly and said, ”Meddling in other people’s business.”

Liu Chunshu’s hand was raised, but it froze midair as he watched Beisitian help Mrs. Qin away. He couldn’t help but laugh angrily, ”This girl really holds grudges!”

Liu Chunyu rolled her eyes at him, ”Who told you to speak about her like that before! Serves you right!” After saying this, she ran after them.

”Hey, are you really my biological sister?” Liu Chunshu mocked with a laugh while leaning on a pole.

After this incident, Mrs. Qin was completely relieved. She was really worried Beisitian might be too soft-hearted, and Du Chunmei was so articulate and persuasive that anyone who was a bit soft might reconsider after going home.

The white mist in Mrs. Qin’s eyes had almost disappeared, and Beisitian felt it was time to prepare to replace her Xuan Talisman in the next two days.

Initially, she used mostly topical treatments to promote blood circulation around her eyes. After a considerable period of application, the blue shadows under her eyes had faded significantly, showing effectiveness.

This, for the moment, had no effect on her eyesight since the toxins were still sedimented inside, and Beisitian planned to extract the toxins.

This process might be somewhat uncomfortable for Mrs. Qin.

That night, Beisitian replaced Mrs. Qin’s Xuan Talisman, changed the topical treatment, and added an oral treatment.

She mixed the talisman powder into clear water and had Mrs. Qin drink it, then removed the covering from her eyes.

”Aren’t I supposed to wear it all night?” Mrs. Qin asked puzzled.

”You might need to go to the restroom later.” Beisitian replied with a smile.

Just as Mrs. Qin was about to ask further, she suddenly felt a cramp in her stomach, followed by a growling sound.

”When it comes, it comes fast...” Mrs. Qin hurriedly got up to find her shoes.

But Beisitian had already handed her the shoes.

The first night would involve running to the restroom three to five times, after which the medicine’s effect would be fully dispersed.

Indeed, after that process, Mrs. Qin went to the restroom five times. Although she kept going, she didn’t feel weak, just a bit numb in her legs.

Up until around eleven at night, Mrs. Qin finally went to sleep peacefully. At this time, the liver and other organs had started detoxifying, which greatly aided the toxin extraction process — the reason why Beisitian chose to do it at night.

The next day, Mrs. Qin’s vision showed no apparent changes, but in the eyes of others, her eyes appeared much brighter.

Besides her family, Zhang Qiao Niang, who came to visit, also noticed the change.

”Sister Qin, your eyes...” Zhang Qiao Niang said with disbelief.

Previously, Mrs. Qin’s eyes were covered with a layer of white mist, making them look somewhat eerie; now, her eyes were distinctly black and white, full of expression. If it weren’t for her slight head movements revealing sight issues, others might think she could see!

Not being able to see herself, Mrs. Qin only smiled when hearing Zhang Qiao Niang’s words. It seemed it was genuinely effective and not just to comfort her!

”Isn’t it Little Tian’er treating my eyes!” Mrs. Qin beamed, so pleased that even not seeing was acceptable as long as she didn’t look frightening anymore.

”Little Tian’er treating eyes!” Zhang Qiao Niang looked at Beisitian with astonishment. Hearing was one thing, but seeing was another.

The last time she visited Luo Er’s family, she noticed some changes in Mrs. Qin’s eyes, though it wasn’t very noticeable then. Now, with bright and defined eyes, the transformation was drastic!

Even if her vision hadn’t fully returned, Mrs. Qin going out would surely surprise many.

”Little Tian’er is really impressive, not only becoming an embroidery woman at Bao Niang’s workshop, earning a salary every month, but also excelling in medicine. She has inherited An Guo’s skills and will become a great doctor for the surrounding villages in the future, bringing pride to our Kao Village!” Zhang Qiao Niang laughed as she spoke, her eyes still filled with astonishment.

”Absolutely, the other day Zhang Yuzhi was cured by our Little Tian’er!” Mrs. Qin unreservedly praised Beisitian.

Zhang Qiao Niang had heard about Zhang Yuzhi’s case. Being from the family, though not closely related, she initially didn’t believe it; it turned out to be true!

Beisitian indeed had her fair share of difficulties; yet, she emerged different!

The days at Luo Er’s family seemed to be getting better, leaving one to wonder if the elders of Luo’s house would regret it!

Thinking of how Qin Hongmei had stirred things up between the two families, Zhang Qiao Niang shook her head. Luckily, her family didn’t have such a person, otherwise, there would be no peace at home.

These past days had been quite calm. After such a disgraceful incident, anyone else might have been driven to suicide!

Yet, who knows, Qin Hongmei’s face was thicker than the city wall; anyone might commit suicide, but she wouldn’t!

Over the span of a week, Mrs. Qin continued needing to go to the restroom every night, initially four to five times, gradually reducing towards the end.

Mrs. Qin experienced the most profound changes during these days, as she gradually began to see things again.

Though the changes were slow, there was progress every day.

The second day after the treatment, she felt the daylight seemed brighter than before. Initially believing it to be a sunny day, by the third day, she could vaguely see Luo Anguo leaning against the quilt, smoking. Whereas before he was merely a blurred figure, now she could see his outline.

This made Mrs. Qin extremely happy. If it weren’t for Beisitian’s warning about crying, she might have shed tears of joy.

Each day Mrs. Qin’s eyes showed improvement. By the fourth day, she could see herself in a small round mirror on the cupboard. Though her face was still somewhat blurry, she could see herself smiling.

Mrs. Qin’s moods over this week were quite different, mostly wrapped in joy, occasionally worrying about relapsing.

On the fifth day, Beisitian stopped giving her talismanic water, instead applying new topical talisman powder to her eyes.

Beisitian said, once the powder was removed, her eyesight should fully recover.
