Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 648: I will not retreat Again... Part-7.

*Rumble!* *Rumble!*

Just when the massive hammer was about to land on Lia’s head, an extremely overwhelming aura spread in the area.

Zig-zag bolts of thunder spread in all directions as if lightning bolts were about to fall on this place.

But unlike regular bolts of thunder, those bolts were as thick as an adult man’s body, and the sheer amount of power concentrated in them was so overwhelming and domineering that all S-rankers that were about to attack Lia became frozen stiff on the spot!

Even Kai and Rahn, who were fighting in the sky far away, felt breathless from just the presence of that overwhelming power.

The massive pure shield wall created by Kai started creaking and cracking just from the influence those bolts put on the spatial fluctuations in the area.

Lia’s eyes widened in shock as she felt that familiar power spread all around her.

”This is...”

Before anyone could comprehend or even react, a powerful explosion happened!

*BOOOOM!!!!!*

The explosion was so strong that even Kai and Rahn, who were far away, had to hurriedly deploy a massive shield to withstand it.

And despite those shields, Rahn was smashed into the ground by the force of a random bolt, and Kai’s both front limbs were literally reduced to dust on the spot!

”Ugh!! He targeted me on purpose!”

Despite Kai trying his best, the overwhelming power of those raging ’bolts’ was so powerful that Kai had to use all the power in his body to barely stop them from spreading all over his body.

In the end he had no other choice but to immediately undo his manifestation!

”This is why I hate coming in contact with this horrible power... d*mn it! I hate ’Sword Intent’!”

With a bitter look on his face, Kai returned back to Lia’s sea of consciousness.

Lia, on the other hand, found that the powerful pressure of the spear pinning her down was gone, and she slowly got up as she wiped the blood from her face.

”I see... so the locket contained his ’Sword Intent,’ which triggered when I ended up in a dangerous situation...”

Despite feeling pain all over her body from her injuries, a smile appeared on Lia’s face as she stroked the necklace hanging around her neck.

The necklace was radiating with dense bolts of ’Sword Intent’ even now and was even trying to stop Lia’s bleeding, but as most of the energy was used in the previous attack, it couldn’t heal Lia anymore.

”Haha, you don’t need to worry anymore... haa... I will be... fine... huff... this much is nothing...”

While speaking those words, Lia took a deep breath and dug out the spear lodged deep in her chest.

”Ugh... severe internal bleeding, damaged liver and various other organs... this is the worst condition I have ever been until now...”

Lia’s eyes were bloodshot, her ears were bleeding, her stomach had a massive hole in it because of the spear, and she was a complete mess in that moment from inside out.

This was the closest Lia had ever been to ’Death.’

She almost saw her own ’death’ with her prediction and premonition.

”Hehe... you have saved me once again with this... sigh, I owe you so much now that I don’t know if I ever will be able to pay you back for doing so much for me...”

While giggling, her stomach wound hurt, but Lia couldn’t help but smile while looking at the scenery around her.

Nearly ten kilometers of area around her were completely flattened, and even the ground was turned into fine dust!

The attack that Rio’s Sword Intent unleashed upon the area was not just a simple thunder explosion.

It was a mass of concentrated thunder elementals and hundreds of thousands of ’Sword Cuts’ fired in all directions!

This was the reason why Kai’s front paws were severed instantly before he could even dodge, and Rahn was smashed into the ground despite being so far away because they both got hit by a random sword intent bolt that carried the force of Rio’s one sword swing!

Aside from the circular place that Lia was standing on, the entire ten kilometers of area around her was turned into a small desert filled with fine dust because those sword slice attacks not only targeted the air but also the ground!

The hammer demon, the spear demon, the bow demon, and even Nine.

All four of them were obliterated in a matter of a fraction of a millisecond!

Thankfully, the temple of nature remained intact because the powerful divine shield managed to withstand the onslaught even though it was almost on the verge of collapse.

[Tch! That stone-faced fellow!! I already knew that he had put a lot of sword intent in that necklace but this much!?]

[And this thing is actually imbued with his thought! It can decide on its own what to do according to the situation!]

Kai was right; Rio had put several days’ worth of effort into forcing his sword intent inside a small necklace.

He literally supercharged every single atom in that necklace with his own ’Sword Intent’ and made sure that it would conceal most of its energy.

Only Kai, who was a peak SS-ranker, was able to sense the overwhelming force that was sealed inside that ordinary-looking necklace!

S-rankers are beings that can tank nuclear weapons head on without even bothering to dodge, but four of them were completely evaporated by that one single attack!

This just showed how much energy Rio had put in that small necklace!

[Well, thankfully he gave you this, or I would have had to pull out some dangerous trick to save you back there...]

Of course, Kai was not oblivious to what was happening to Lia; it was just that Rahn was keeping him busy, and he was hesitating to use too much energy.

Kai already knew that Lia had Rio’s ’Sword Intent’ as a final defensive shield, so he didn’t bother worrying too much about her safety.

But if she didn’t have it, Kai would have had to use a forbidden skill or something like that to get Lia out of that situation, but then it would have caused side effects.

Although Kai didn’t like that he had to rely on Rio’s help, the current outcome was better.
