Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 626: To The Temple Of Nature! Part-1.

Lia couldn’t change the past, but she knew that she could at least keep these two little fellows safe until she clears this dungeon.

’All fairies meet each other and socialize at this so called ’Temple of Nature’... I can look for clues there and see if I can find a way to clear this dungeon...’

[Dungeons are such bizarre and fascinating things... you can peek into such a long-gone past by entering them...]

[You can witness the past unfold right in front of you in real-time... If I ever get to meet the creator of this universe... I would ask them, ’What are Dungeons?’...]

[And what is their purpose in this world?...]

If dungeons didn’t exist, those frequent dungeon breaks wouldn’t cause the death of thousands of people worldwide.

If dungeons didn’t exist, people wouldn’t have to fear monsters pouring out of them and killing everyone.

If dungeons didn’t exist, there wouldn’t be a need for fearing a sudden increase in miasma density, as there wouldn’t be a miasmic dungeon pouring out massive amounts of miasma into the world.

If dungeons didn’t exist, crime that happens hidden from the eyes of the world and happens inside the dungeons would cease to exist.

The question, ’Why do dungeons exist, and what are they?’ is as old as the time of mana and miasma, but no one has an answer for it.

’This is the first time I have seen you behave so uncertain about something... I guess even divine spirits feel uncertain towards some things in the world...’

[Haha, of course.... Even the mightiest and strongest demi-gods feel uncertain in the face of the great ’Unknown’...]

[This magical world is full of uncertainties; anything can happen any time, any day...]

Kai transformed into his lion form as he sat on the lush grassland and looked at the vast blue sky as if he were staring at the universe itself.

[I wonder... if there will be a day when all truths about the universe will be uncovered...]

[Although the universe is bizarre... its vastness and its unpredictable nature makes it just as fascinating...]

’Well, quite a few SS-rankers head off into the vast universe to experience that exact thrill of adventuring in the unknown...’

SS-rankers have a massive lifespan; a thousand years is nothing to them, and unless killed in combat, most of them can live for tens of thousands of years without any problem.

With such a long life span, the shackles of society and troubles of the mortal world start to lose their importance.

Thus, finding a new source of joy and thrill is always very popular among long-living creatures.

Some find joy in protecting their loved ones, while others find joy in venturing into the unknown.

Adventuring far and wide into the cosmos is a concept that is very attractive to all SS-rankers.

’When I and Rio reach rank SS... in future... we will go on a long adventure and will see the various wonders this universe has to offer...’

Planets that are tidally locked in their star’s orbit, solar systems with several stars and black holes all revolving around each other, planets where diamonds rain, and unexplored gas clouds that span an area of millions of light-years!

The universe is filled with wonders that are waiting for someone to explore!

[That’s a good idea; I actually once travelled all over the spirit realm back then when it was still not so corrupted everywhere...]

[It was a nice time...]

...

While Lia and Kai were talking about the future and the fascinating nature of this universe, the three little fellows were jumping around and playing with each other happily.

Lyria and Miria made flower crowns and placed one on Lia’s head, and even Kai, who was in his lion form, got one.

The intimidating silver lion now had a flower crown resting atop his head, making him look worthy of his title of ’Divine Spirit General!’

”Usually, spirits get frightened the moment they see me and humans dare not come close...”

”Only the fairy race is the most unafraid of my appearance... it was the same in the past...”

This time Kai didn’t use telepathy to speak and spoke directly with his mouth, and even Lia was surprised.

”Err... don’t look at me with such a shocked look. Of course I am able to talk; I am a divine spirit, not a real lion... I can alter my voice in whatever way I want with my spirit magic...”

Lia could almost see Kai roll his eyes as if he was thinking that Lia was the weird one for never noticing that he could actually talk.

”But you usually always use telepathy... I really thought you were unable to speak...”

”You should have told me that you could do that...”

To those words, Kai replied in a smug tone,

”You never asked...”

Lia pouted a bit and spoke.

”For deceiving your master... you deserve a punishment... hmm, that’s it! We all will ride on your back to the temple of nature now!”

Seeing that Kai was about to decline, Lia teased,

”Don’t tell me that the great divine spirit general is so weak that he can’t even carry a little human girl and two small fairies on his back?”

At Lia’s deliberate teasing words, Kai glanced at the little golem and said,

”See... she didn’t count you in the group. You are going to be on my side and protest against this unfair punishment, right?”

Hearing Kai’s words, the little golem just scratched its little oval head as if it couldn’t understand such complex emotions and behaviors at all.

”Err, you want flower?”

Unable to understand, the little golem stretched its small hand out to give a flower, causing Kai to feel awkward.

”Ugh... why did I have to shoot myself in the foot by opening my mouth so carelessly... sigh...”

With no other option left, Kai had no choice but to increase his size.

He made himself several meters tall, and his wide back became spacious enough for Lia and everyone to sit and even lie down on it comfortably!

”I will only count to three; if you don’t get on by then, I’m not doing this anymore...”

With a victorious smile on her face, Lia grabbed the little golem and jumped on Kai’s back with the two fairies!

”Ahoy! Set sail!!”
