Chapter 640: The Empress of War! Part-3.

*BOOOM!!* *BOOOM!!* *BOOOM!!!*

Hundreds of lasers were fired at Lia by the laser guns of the human army in retaliation for her rain of spears and fog of purification attacks, but Lia didn’t even bother defending them.

The moment those attacks hit Lia’s silver armor, they either got redirected to some other direction or the laser attack exploded the moment they came in contact with Lia’s powerful silver armor.

Dozens of A-rankers and demons rushed towards Lia, and hundreds of powerful skills were launched at her.

[Water Elemental Manipulation: Cyclone of Destruction!]

A massive cyclone appeared out of nowhere as massive amounts of water elementals were used.

With Lia in the middle of the cyclone, she remained harmless while everyone who tried to attack got hit by that natural disaster-level attack, and hundreds of thousands of ordinary humans and monsters were tossed thousands of meters away by that attack.

”So you are also capable of fighting... I thought that the fairy race was more peace-loving...”

Hearing Lia’s words, Nova crossed her arms around her chest and replied in a smug voice,

”Heh, if even a human is willing to fight for the fairy race’s survival, who am I to cower in fear and stay behind...”

”Aside from the Royal fairies of our race, I am one of the current strongest individuals among the entire fairy race... as a peak S-ranker, I am much stronger than any ordinary enemy...”

Nova looked at the humans and demons being ripped apart by her powerful cyclones and shook her head.

”We can’t always remain peaceful and weak... after I found that recording, I started learning more combat skills; this is just one of them...”

As a peace-loving race, fairies don’t usually learn or train combat skills, as they are more inclined to being healers and life-savers.

Even Nova was the same; she was more of a healer than a combatant. She only recently started focusing on combat when pushed to a corner.

Just when Nova was about to say something more, Lia thrusted her sword in a seemingly random direction.

[Silver Lion Swordsmanship: Nail of The Lion King!]

*BOOOM!!!*

Lia’s sword thrust that seemed like it was aimed at empty air barely managed to defend against a punch attack from Nine, who came rushing at Nova with immense force and nearly hit her.

”Argh!!”

Nine hadn’t expected Lia to suddenly defend with a sword thrust, as he was sure that he was quite well hidden with the help of the massive silver fog and the cyclone.

His aim was to injure or instantly kill Nova to eliminate her from this battlefield and prevent more casualties from happening in the human army.

”Thou art a fool! Attacking a weaker opponent, thy nature disgusts me!”

Nine waved his hand in pain; it got hurt by Lia’s sword tip covered in dense spiritual mana.

”Don’t be like that, Your Majesty; I am just trying to reduce the number of casualties on my side that might get caused by this companion of yours’s wide-range attacks...”

”I will get in trouble if I lost too much soldiers in this battle you see...”

Nova became angry the moment she heard those words.

”The life of your people is important but not ours!? You are literally torturing and killing our people! You are using fairies as literal potion-making ingredients!”

Nine just shook his head as he took out a strange-looking artifact from his space ring and spoke,

”Forgive me, fair lady, but I am just following orders. I have no idea what you are talking about, and I have no interest in knowing it either...”

”All I care about is my people, not others...”

[Shattered Mountain Martial Art: Mountain Shaking Fist!]

*BOOOMM!!!*

Once again Lia managed to defend the attack, but this time a look of surprise appeared on her face, hidden behind the helmet.

”Hmm?”

The power of that attack was completely different, and for some reason even the attack speed of Nine had increased after he brought out that strange statue-like artifact.

The artifact seemed like it was a statue of some distorted being, and it glowed bright red as it floated around Nine.

’What’s that?’

[No idea, but it’s giving me a familiar feeling; it must be some kind of ’demonic sacrifice item’ that uses a sacrifice to improve physical capabilities for a certain amount of time...]

[He’s likely sacrificing something... it’s either vitality, life span, or soul power... hmm? This strange fluctuation... he’s not sacrificing anything of his own...]

Lia understood what Kai was trying to say, artifacts that use vitality or stuff like life span and soul power as their energy source don’t need to be supplied with that ’energy’ through your own body.

You can compensate for it with someone else’s life too; you just have to make the right conditions.

And according to the current situation, Nine was likely sacrificing the vitality gathered through torturing and killing fairies and then storing it in this artifact as a source of energy in battles.

’The attack power and speed have improved but compared to Rio and Link, you are still lacking even with this powerful boost...’

As a martial artist, Nine was indeed strong, but despite being a powerful S-ranker, he was leagues behind people like Rio and Link, who were capable of slaughtering multiple S-rankers when still being a realm weaker themselves.

After all, the boost brought by a legendary skill mastered to near perfection is not something that a corrupted artifact like this can bring.

[Divine Spirit’s Blessing: Gravity Manipulation: Cosmic Bend!]

[Silver Lion Swordsmanship: Lion King’s Judgement: Unpredictable Thrusts!]

Using the divine spirit magic, Lia bent gravity and made Nine get blown away to a distance. Then she turned around and hurriedly used her powerful sword art to do thrust attacks that were completely random and unpredictable!

*BOOMM!!* *BOOOM!!!* *BOOMMM!!!*

The moment she did those unpredictable thrust attacks, a massive number of arrows bombarded her and Nova at the same time from outside the visible range of the cyclone’s center.

Using her foresight, Lia moved completely on an unpredictable instinct, targeting only arrow attacks that were fatal and altering their trajectory before they could hit the target.
