Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 296 Can we get a tank? After returning to Xiaomi Company, Lei Jun was still immersed in uncontrollable excitement and thrill.

He immediately began a comprehensive test of the new concept car, and the results were exactly the same as those from Su Chen’s test!

In other words, the new concept car was a well-deserved god-tier car!

An excited Lei Jun couldn’t wait to contact Elder Qin!

As soon as the call connected, his excited voice came through:

”Elder Qin, the new car is ready for sale!”

Lei Jun’s tone was full of passion!

It was as if he could already see the bright prospect of this new car achieving great success in the market!

He continued:

”After we received the car, we conducted a second complete test, and this test went so smoothly!”

”All the data and performance fully met our expectations, and were even better than we had anticipated.”

”I have full confidence that this car will be a work that overturns new energy vehicles—no, to be precise, it will overturn the entire automotive industry!”

”Therefore, we have decided to hold a press conference in the next two days to officially launch our new car to the whole world!”

Hearing this on the other end of the line, Elder Qin was a bit surprised, and he thought with a hint of astonishment:

”That kid Su Chen, has he already finished modifying the car so quickly?”

In Elder Qin’s original expectations, although Su Chen’s ability was heaven-defying, it still seemed incredible to him that he could complete the modifications and reach a sellable level in such a short time.

Lei Jun continued at this moment:

”Teacher Su and his team really impressed me. No wonder our country’s technology can develop so fast; this must be largely due to the contributions of Teacher Su and his team.”

Lei Jun exclaimed sincerely!

In his heart, a team capable of building such an amazing car must be filled with hidden talents and extraordinary strength.

Hearing this, Elder Qin found it a bit funny, but he maintained a calm expression on his face, thinking to himself:

”What team! When it comes down to it, it’s just that brat alone.”

Although there was indeed a team helping throughout the process, and those staff members were indeed very hardworking, busy every day assisting with various preparatory work and basic tasks, when it came down to it, the key core technology research and development, and important modification steps were all shouldered by Su Chen alone!

Everyone else was just there to assist Su Chen.

However, Elder Qin didn’t say much more. After all, Su Chen’s identity was quite special. Letting him interact too much with outsiders regarding technical matters was not conducive to keeping his identity confidential, so it was better to be cautious.

Elder Qin then said:

”Su Chen is just the external contact person for their team. You don’t think Su Chen did all of this, do you?”

Elder Qin said this to slightly downplay the key role Su Chen played, so as to avoid unnecessary attention.

Hearing this, Lei Jun was stunned for a moment, then laughed dumbly, and said with a hint of embarrassment:

”Oh, is that so, Elder Qin?”

”I thought Teacher Su was an Engineer too. I really thought he did it all himself.”

Lei Jun realized that he might have taken it for granted. He had originally thought Su Chen was the core technical backbone of the entire team, but it turned out he was just a contact person!

He couldn’t help but become even more curious about this so-called team.

Elder Qin didn’t continue this topic, but turned to ask about the new car, as that was the priority at the moment.

He said:

”The work for the new concept car launch is entirely entrusted to you. The profit-sharing ratio remains as before: the state takes 50%, and you take 50%. Leave everything else to you. I hope you can host this press conference well and successfully push this car to the market.”

As soon as Elder Qin said this, he didn’t expect it to be immediately met with strong opposition from Lei Jun, who hurriedly said:

”No! Elder Qin, we must renegotiate the profit-sharing ratio.”

His tone was very firm, clearly a decision made after careful consideration.

Hearing this, Elder Qin frowned slightly, and his tone unconsciously became serious as he asked:

”Oh? Are you dissatisfied with the current profit-sharing ratio?”

Elder Qin was a bit confused. Normally, this ratio had been agreed upon by both parties before. Why did they want to renegotiate now? Did they feel they were losing out?

Lei Jun hurriedly explained:

”Elder Qin, please don’t misunderstand. Being able to cooperate with the state is a good thing we wouldn’t even dare to dream of. We are too grateful for that.”

”However, the key technology of this car was entirely modified with the state’s help. We only did some follow-up work. Even so, we have the nerve to ask for 50%. How could that be right?”

The more Lei Jun talked, the more inappropriate he felt it was. In his view, since the state provided such core technical support, they couldn’t take such a big advantage.

He continued:

”20%! Just give us 20%!”

”10% for marketing and paying the team, and 10% to maintain production and after-sales service. That’s enough.”

Lei Jun calculated that as long as this car could be successfully pushed to the market, with its heaven-defying performance, even if they only took 20% of the profits, the earnings would definitely be quite substantial. There was no need to worry about not making money!

Moreover, this could also reflect their gratitude for the state’s technical support.

Hearing this, Elder Qin was stunned. He really didn’t expect that Lei Jun wasn’t complaining about it being too little, but too much.

You know, the state basically just helped with publicity, and then Su Chen provided the key technology. All the rest of the work—like controlling the production process, market research, expanding sales channels, etc.—was all done by Xiaomi Company!

Even with that, the state still took half of the profits for nothing, which was already quite a lot.

Yet Xiaomi Company actually thought they were getting too much and voluntarily offered to give 80% to the state. This was truly unexpected for Elder Qin.

Elder Qin thought for a moment, thinking that Lei Jun wasn’t a fool. No business person would do a losing deal, unless that 20% could bring them huge profits; otherwise, they definitely wouldn’t make such a concession so easily.

Could it be... that Lei Jun expected the new concept car modified by Su Chen to be a huge hit, which is why he was willing to give up so much profit to the state?

Thinking of this, Elder Qin couldn’t help but become even more curious about the car Su Chen had modified, secretly pondering:

”That brat, did he make another awesome car?”

However, he didn’t dwell on it, as the priority now was to arrange the new car launch.

Subsequently, Elder Qin said to Lei Jun:

”We can discuss this later. You go ahead and get busy with the press conference. If you need help during the preparation process, just ask, and the state will definitely do its best to support you.”

At this moment, Lei Jun said again: ”Elder Qin, we really do need a little help!”

His tone carried a hint of anticipation, as if this help was quite important for the press conference.

Elder Qin hurriedly asked:

”What help? Tell me about it. As long as it is reasonable, we will definitely find a way to help you solve it.”

Lei Jun hesitated for a moment, then asked with some embarrassment:

”Elder Qin, it’s just... can you give us...”

”...a tank?”
