Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 293: You’re asked to modify cars?! You want to build race cars?!”Ah???” Lei Jun was stunned when he heard this. He widened his eyes, his face full of horror and confusion!

”Th-th-this... Teacher Su, wouldn’t this be too dangerous!”

”When we perform vehicle testing, we always use crash test dummies!”

In Lei Jun’s mind, driving a car directly into a pillar like this was simply an act of madness; the slightest mistake could lead to a destroyed vehicle and injury. He simply couldn’t understand why Su Chen would make such a request.

Su Chen, however, replied with a calm expression: ”That’s because you don’t have absolute confidence in your product’s performance!”

”As for me, I have great confidence in the car I modified!”

”What? If you’re scared, then I’ll drive, and you get out!”

Su Chen’s tone was filled with determination and confidence!

His eyes revealed an unwavering belief in his own technology; as if in his eyes, this car was an indestructible artifact, and no challenge was to be feared.

Hearing Su Chen’s words, a strange sense of courage surged in Lei Jun’s heart.

He gripped the steering wheel tightly, his eyes suddenly becoming serious and firm, and then he nodded solemnly and said: ”Fine, since Teacher Su is so confident, I’ll take the risk with you!”

With that, Lei Jun took a deep breath, slowly started the car, and was truly prepared to crash into the pillar.

However, just as the car was about to move, Su Chen hurriedly reached out to stop him.

Su Chen burst into laughter, the sound echoing across the empty field, filled with teasing and banter: ”Hahaha, President Lei, you are truly brave!”

Lei Jun was stunned by Su Chen’s sudden action, looking at him with a blank expression.

Su Chen pushed the car door open, walked quickly to the driver’s side, tapped the window lightly, and said with a smile: ”Get out. You might not be afraid of death, but I am!”

Lei Jun suddenly realized that Su Chen had just been teasing him!

He felt speechless for a moment, but simultaneously breathed a sigh of relief, feeling both annoyed and amused by Su Chen’s playfulness.

Lei Jun helplessly pushed the car door open and stepped out from the driver’s seat.

Su Chen closed the door, while Lei Jun stood to the side, watching Su Chen prepare to continue testing the car’s anti-collision capabilities.

He looked around but didn’t find any auxiliary equipment for testing this function.

Just as he was wondering what Su Chen was going to do, he suddenly heard Su Chen say loudly to the car: ”Xiao Ai, enter developer mode.”

Immediately after, a female-like synthesized mechanical voice resonated in the air: ”Confirm Engineer identity!”

Su Chen answered without hesitation: ”Su Chen.”

”Engineer confirmed, performing voice recognition!”

”Recognition successful!”

”Performing facial recognition!”

”Recognition successful!”

”Developer mode successfully enabled. Respected Engineer, hello! How may I assist you?”

Su Chen said calmly: ”I want to test the vehicle’s anti-collision performance. Drive towards the pillar in front and crash into it.”

”Xiao Ai understands!”

”Preparing to commence testing. Developer, please move 100 meters outside the test range!”

”People detected within 100 meters. Test cannot be initiated!”

Hearing Xiao Ai’s words, Lei Jun immediately realized it was referring to him.

He hurriedly followed Su Chen and retreated, his face filled with shock.

He said in surprise: ”Oh my, Teacher Su, is this the Artificial Intelligence that comes with the car?”

”It’s so advanced! Compared to this, our Xiao Ai seems like a simpleton!”

This was Su Chen transferring the Artificial Intelligence from the Individual Combat Mecha to the car!

Of course, it was just a simplified version, with less than one-thousandth of the performance of the Individual Combat Mecha!

But even so, its performance still left Lei Jun incomparably astonished!

Subsequently, the test officially began.

The car’s engine emitted a low, powerful hum, as if a giant beast had been awakened; the tires screeched against the ground, producing a sharp sound.

The entire car was like a bull poised to charge, filled with power and passion.

Before Lei Jun and Su Chen could react, the new concept car shot out like a bolt of lightning.

The 0-100 km/h acceleration actually took only 0.5 seconds.

The speed was dizzying; the entire car was like a rocket launching from its chamber, hurtling toward the pillar in front at extreme speed.

Lei Jun widened his eyes and subconsciously took half a step back.

His heart was filled with tension and fear, and he couldn’t help but shout: ”It’s over, it’s over, something’s going to happen!”

”Hitting a pillar at this speed, this car is definitely going to be totaled!”

In his experience, no vehicle could withstand such a high-speed impact; it would inevitably result in severe damage or total destruction, and an explosion was even possible!

However, the scene that followed left him jaw-dropped; he couldn’t believe his eyes.

The moment the new concept car made contact with the pillar, the body didn’t shatter as he had imagined.

Instead, like an incredibly hard cannonball, it instantly sent the solid iron pillar flying.

The iron pillar traced an arc in the air before landing heavily on the ground with a dull thud.

Even more incredible was that the shell of the new concept car didn’t have a single dent, as if what it had just experienced wasn’t a violent collision, but merely a light touch.

”Incredible!” Lei Jun couldn’t help but exclaim.

After the new concept car completed the test, like an elegant dancer, it spun lightly and then came to a steady stop in front of them, perfectly demonstrating the sophistication and precision of its autonomous driving technology.

Lei Jun couldn’t wait to walk around the new concept car.

He carefully inspected the car’s interior, exterior, and chassis, not missing a single detail.

However, to his shock, he found that the car was completely unscathed, as if the violent collision that had just occurred had never happened at all.

Lei Jun looked at Su Chen, his face full of shock, his voice trembling slightly with excitement: ”Teacher Su! You have truly opened my eyes!”

”What kind of material is this shell made of? Logically, with such a massive impact, even if the car weren’t totaled, it shouldn’t be completely unscathed!”

”Yet this car is perfectly fine; this is simply a miracle!”

”Just for this anti-collision capability alone, this car is worth a million! No! Ten million!”

In Lei Jun’s view, such exceptional anti-collision performance completely transcended his understanding of automotive materials and structures.

He knew deeply that once this technology was applied to mass production, it would inevitably revolutionize the entire automotive industry.

Su Chen just smiled slightly and said: ”You haven’t seen anything yet! Come over and check the battery level.”

Although Lei Jun didn’t know why Su Chen wanted him to check the battery level, he complied out of trust.

When he saw that the battery level was displayed as full—that is, 100%—he became even more confused.

Then, Su Chen asked Lei Jun to step back outside the test area and issued a new instruction to the new concept car: ”Drive at maximum speed. I want to test your driving range on one percent of the battery!”

Xiao Ai’s mechanical voice sounded again: ”Xiao Ai received!”

As Su Chen retreated from the test area, the vehicle began its autonomous test.

The car started up again, the roar of the engine piercing the sky.

The speed increased rapidly, quickly reaching its limit.

It was so fast that it was like a flash of lightning, dazzling to behold.

Seeing the speed of the new concept car, Lei Jun was beyond simple shock.

His voice trembled with extreme awe: ”Su... Teacher Su, I asked you to modify a car, but you’ve built a race car!”
