Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 279 Bad News! The United States.

At this moment, almost all the top brass were gathered in a spacious yet exceptionally oppressive large conference room.

The atmosphere inside was as stifling as the low pressure before a storm!

Everyone’s face was filled with gravity and anxiety!

Because they knew the current situation all too well.

First, the Dragon Kingdom revealed the Aerospace Carrier, a powerful weapon that could be called ”world-ending”!

Its power and advanced nature left the United States trailing far behind, already shattering the previous military balance.

Immediately after, relying on those extremely low electricity prices, the Dragon Kingdom stirred up massive waves in the energy sector, looking as if it intended to monopolize energy across the entire Blue Planet.

The energy plan they had meticulously crafted had now completely declared bankruptcy!

Facing the Dragon Kingdom’s unstoppable momentum of rise, they felt as if they had fallen into a desperate situation, seemingly unable to find any effective way to curb the Dragon Kingdom from controlling the entire Blue Planet.

As the former leader who could call the wind and summon the rain on the Blue Planet, the United States felt immense pressure at this moment!

That sense of superiority from the past had long since vanished, leaving only a deep sense of crisis and frustration.

President Biden looked at the crowd with a gloomy face, his tone carrying a trace of helplessness and urgency as he said:

”Speak your thoughts. If anyone can think of a way to deal with the Dragon Kingdom, you can take my seat.”

He had intended to use this kind of ”temptation” to stimulate everyone’s wisdom!

Hoping someone could come up with a good idea to turn the tide.

However, even facing such a great ”temptation,” these high-ranking officials remained furrowed-browed, each with their heads lowered, racking their brains for a long time, but still unable to think of any effective method.

Looking at it from a military perspective.

The Dragon Kingdom’s Aerospace Carrier was simply too powerful; they had absolutely no way to counter it.

Even if the Dragon Kingdom didn’t need to deploy those science-fiction-like Space Mecha!

Just needing to control the Electromagnetic Naval Gun on the Aerospace Carrier to conduct a round of saturation attacks, that powerful firepower would be enough to cause any of the United States’ troops to fall into a paralyzed state.

Now they were almost at their wit’s end. Thinking back and forth, it seemed only the ”trump card” of Nuclear Weapons remained.

But how could these Nuclear Weapons be used lightly? Once used, it would almost be equivalent to a suicidal act, triggering unimaginable consequences.

Unless the Dragon Kingdom’s Aerospace Carrier truly launched a destructive strike against them, they would absolutely not consider using Nuclear Weapons.

And in terms of energy, the Dragon Kingdom was undoubtedly waging a war without smoke in this field!

The strategic significance produced by the Dragon Kingdom’s super low electricity prices was almost the same as the deterrent power of Nuclear Weapons in the military field!

But the United States had no ”Nuclear Weapons” in its hands to rival it. They could only watch helplessly as the Dragon Kingdom stepped forward toward monopolizing the power resources of the entire Blue Planet, yet they had no way to stop it. This sense of powerlessness made them feel tormented.

At this time, the Secretary of State also returned to the United States.

He had personally experienced a series of heavy blows from the Dragon Kingdom, so he knew the current power of the Dragon Kingdom more deeply than anyone else present.

It was just a pity that the Dragon Kingdom’s confidentiality work was done too well, watertight. Even when he was in the Dragon Kingdom at the time, inside the Aerospace Carrier, he hadn’t been able to obtain any truly useful intelligence.

So when the United States’ military scientists asked him about obtaining intelligence on the Aerospace Carrier, other than stating that the Aerospace Carrier was very advanced, he couldn’t think of any other information!

Therefore, he felt that the most urgent task point at the moment was to obtain intelligence about the Dragon Kingdom as much as possible; perhaps they could find a breakthrough from it!

Seeing that everyone was at their wit’s end regarding the Dragon Kingdom, the Secretary of State immediately cleared his throat and spoke up!

His low voice seemed exceptionally loud in this oppressive and quiet space:

”Since we can’t think of a way to deal with the Dragon Kingdom for the time being, why don’t we first find a way to obtain more intelligence about the Aerospace Carrier, as well as their Nuclear Fusion power generation devices!”

”In case there are fatal weaknesses in them, we can also use these weaknesses to sanction them.”

These high-ranking officials of the United States couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed after hearing his words.

They had originally thought the Secretary of State had come up with some brilliant idea, but they didn’t expect it to be such a helpless move!

However, thinking about it carefully, it really did make sense!

Since there was no way to directly deal with the Dragon Kingdom openly, they could only try to start by digging up some intelligence that was favorable to themselves; perhaps they might really find a turning point.

The Secretary of State saw everyone’s reaction and understood their thoughts, but he still continued:

”Especially the Dragon Kingdom’s Aerospace Carrier, we have far too little intelligence on the Aerospace Carrier.”

”As long as we can discover its shortcomings, for example, in terms of energy, we might have the possibility of using these shortcomings to turn the current situation around.”

”Although this hope is very slim, for us, it is currently quite important. Please, everyone, do not take it lightly!”

The Secretary of State’s words did wake everyone up.

They looked at each other, exchanged glances, and finally realized the arduousness and significant importance of this task.

After all, this was about the United States’ future status and destiny on the Blue Planet!

If they could find the weaknesses in these advanced technologies of the Dragon Kingdom, perhaps there would still be a glimmer of hope.

President Biden nodded thoughtfully at this time, his expression softening slightly, and he said calmly:

”I agree with the Secretary of State’s idea. As things stand, doing something is better than doing nothing.”

”The work of obtaining intelligence will be left to the CIA!”

As he spoke, he looked around at the many high-ranking officials of the United States sitting below, his gaze sweeping over them one by one.

It was as if he were conveying the importance and seriousness of this matter to everyone.

Suddenly, his expression froze, and he frowned, as if he had remembered something, and asked:

”Is Smith not here?”

”I heard he has already recovered and been discharged from the hospital. Did he not come to work today?”

”For such an important meeting, he actually missed it.”

President Biden said, looking at the Secretary of State, his eyes carrying a trace of dissatisfaction, and said:

”Contact Smith and have him come to attend the meeting. Today’s meeting is particularly important, especially the CIA. They are the key to this operation.”

The Secretary of State hurriedly nodded and immediately arranged for his assistant to go and contact Smith.

But not long after, the assistant returned with an anxious look:

”Sorry, Secretary of State Jack, we have not been able to contact Mr. Smith!”

”Even contacting his family has yielded no response!”

This made the Secretary of State extremely anxious; after all, it concerned national security!

How could Smith drop the ball at such a critical moment.

The Secretary of State hurriedly had nearby police officers go to Smith’s home to find him. Everyone was anxiously waiting for news in the conference room, and the atmosphere became increasingly tense.

Before long, President Biden’s phone rang!

He hurriedly answered the phone, and before he could speak, the urgent voice of the police officer came through:

”Mr. President, is there a problem with the address you provided?”

”We followed your requirements and arrived at Mr. Smith’s home, only to find that it... is an empty house!”

”There is nothing inside!”

”Oh! No! That’s not right!”

The police officer said up to this point, as if he had suddenly discovered something!

His gaze fell on a corner of the house, his expression froze, and he suddenly changed his words, saying:

”To be precise, there is still a tuxedo cat that can do backflips left!”

President Biden was bewildered by the police officer’s incoherent and inexplicable words.

He widened his eyes and shouted:

”What cat that can do backflips?”

”I want to find Smith!”

”There is no problem with the address! You must look for me carefully!!! That is absolutely Smith’s home address!”

As he spoke, President Biden was furious and hung up the phone directly, muttering to himself:

”A bunch of trash! And Smith...”

He recalled that some time ago, Smith had proposed the idea of wanting to take a vacation and travel, but he had rejected it!

At this moment, the more he thought about it, the angrier he became, and he said viciously:

”If I find out that he went traveling at such a critical time, I will definitely cut off his head!”

Just at this moment, the door outside was suddenly pushed open!

A ”creak” sound broke the tense and oppressive atmosphere in the room!

A person appeared at the door, everyone’s gaze suddenly looked over, and President Biden also frowned, asking displeasedly:

”Earls, why are you here?”

This middle-aged man wearing a black overcoat with a shiny, bald head was none other than Earls, the head of President Biden’s private intelligence organization.

As soon as he entered, that serious expression made everyone’s hearts ”thump”!

Feeling that some bad news was about to be announced.

He took a deep breath and said slowly:

”Mr. President!”

”I may have to tell you some bad news!”

”After our investigation, we discovered...”

”Our CIA director, the respected Mr. Smith, seems to...”

”Have run away!”
