Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 259 They’ll never return!Minutes ago, the border military camp where Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao was stationed was filled with tension.

The soldiers were standing in battle formation, confronting the ever-increasing number of White Elephant soldiers opposite them.

Just then, Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao received a call from the Commander-in-Chief of the Southern Military Region.

On the other end of the line, the Commander-in-Chief’s tone was extremely excited, completely unlike his usual calm and restrained self.

”How is the situation at the border?” the Commander-in-Chief asked urgently.

Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao hurriedly replied: ”Report, Chief, the White Elephant soldiers gathering at the border are increasing in number.”

”It seems the other side doesn’t want us to have a happy New Year. But Chief, don’t worry, I will ensure the soldiers remain restrained. As long as the enemy does not cross the border line, we guarantee we will absolutely not take action!”

Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao knew well that this Chief was usually a very restrained general, known for his cautious and conservative approach to combat.

It was precisely because of this Chief that there had basically been no large-scale conflicts at the border for so many years!

It had always maintained a state of relative calm.

However, this time, the Commander-in-Chief’s reply left Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao somewhat surprised.

The Commander-in-Chief shouted on the other end of the line: ”Screw that! The enemy is right in our faces, there’s no need to hold back!”

”Do you still think it’s the old days?”

”The times have long changed!”

”Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao! I am ordering you now! Take all the equipment in the military camp, arm yourselves with guns and artillery, everything!

I will apply for an Individual Combat Mecha Legion for you shortly. Give those bastards a harsh lesson!”

The Commander-in-Chief seemed worried that Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao hadn’t understood his meaning, so he repeated it with added emphasis: ”Use guns and artillery to drive them back. Throw away the iron bars and machetes in your hands. You understand what I mean, right!”

Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao was instantly dumbfounded, muttering to himself: Since when did the Commander-in-Chief get such guts!

Is he really not afraid of causing a dispute with White Elephant?

What if White Elephant gets desperate and retaliates?

However, Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao also knew that obedience was a soldier’s duty.

Even though his heart was full of doubts, he did not ask any more questions and simply replied crisply: ”Understood, Sir!”

The Commander-in-Chief did not rush to hang up the phone, but continued: ”In order to shift the soldiers’ mindset!”

”Before the Mech Legion arrives, organize your men to watch tonight’s Spring Festival Gala.”

”The Spring Festival Gala?” Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao couldn’t help but be puzzled, wondering to himself, what is the point of watching the Spring Festival Gala?

If it were previous years, the Spring Festival Gala was indeed a must-watch program in their military camp.

Every New Year’s Eve, the soldiers would sit together to watch the Spring Festival Gala, which counted as experiencing a unique festive atmosphere in the camp.

However, in recent years, for some reason, the Spring Festival Gala programs seemed to get worse every year.

Coupled with the fact that many in the military camp were young people now, their interest in the Spring Festival Gala had long faded, and usually, few people were willing to watch it.

With a heart full of doubts, Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao hung up the phone.

He turned back to the soldiers, only to see them each holding iron bars and machetes, their eyes filled with anticipation as they looked longingly at Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao.

”Battalion Commander, we heard the Commander-in-Chief called. Well? Can we take on those bastards?”

The soldiers shouted arrogantly, ”I really want to kill them all! They don’t take us seriously at all!”

That spirit of ’newborn calves not afraid of tigers’ was fully on display.

Deputy Battalion Commander Wang Jun smiled helplessly from the side: ”Don’t get excited, everyone. Our Commander-in-Chief is always cautious. I expect this time he will still have us maintain a conservative standoff. As for taking the initiative to attack, don’t even think about it!”

Some veterans nodded upon hearing the Deputy Battalion Commander’s words; they had been with the Commander-in-Chief for a long time and knew the Chief’s consistent character.

But those newly arrived soldiers were not willing to give up, still hoping to have a fight with the White Elephant soldiers opposite.

Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao looked at his subordinates and did not directly state what the order from above was, but just said loudly: ”Go back and watch the Spring Festival Gala first!”

”Watch the Spring Festival Gala?” Deputy Battalion Commander Wang Jun thought he had misheard and asked with wide eyes: ”Battalion Commander, did I hear you right? You want us to watch the Spring Festival Gala?”

”At this hour, hasn’t the Spring Festival Gala already ended?”

Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao replied with a serious face: ”It’s not me, it’s the Commander-in-Chief’s order.”

”Alright, attention everyone, come with me to watch the Spring Festival Gala!”

Because the two armies were currently in a standoff, it was impossible to return to the military camp to watch it normally, so the Battalion Commander ordered his men to take the screen and projector to the border line!

Then, they connected the projector to a mobile phone for the live stream.

Very quickly, the image of the Spring Festival Gala appeared on the screen.

When the soldiers saw it, they were all dumbfounded!

”Is this thing the Spring Festival Gala?”

The images appearing on the screen were not the usual singing and dancing programs of the standard Spring Festival Gala, but rather a display of the Dragon Country’s powerful military technological achievements.

That massive Aerospace Carrier, like a steel fortress in the sky, along with the astonishing scene of having hundreds of Electromagnetic Naval Guns equipped as standard artillery, and those nearly fifty Space Mecha lined up neatly!

Everything was just too shocking.

The White Elephant soldiers on the other side of the border line were also dumbfounded, muttering to themselves: We are in a standoff here, yet you are watching a movie. Can you show us some respect?

However, without orders from above, they could only stare helplessly.

On the Dragon Country soldiers’ side, it wasn’t just the soldiers; even the Battalion Commander and his deputy were dumbfounded.

”Battalion Commander, what is this situation?”

”Is this thing on TV something we built?”

”An Aerospace Carrier?”

”A big guy equipped with hundreds of Electromagnetic Naval Guns as standard artillery, we built this?”

”And the Space Mecha, good grief, fifty of them!!!!”

”Since when did we become this strong???”

”Damn! Watching this makes my blood boil. We’re this strong now, and we’re still cowed by these bastards???”

The soldiers were incredibly excited.

That pent-up energy they had originally was now completely mobilized, and their eyes were filled with excitement and fighting spirit.

Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao finally understood what was going on, sighing inwardly: The Commander-in-Chief had the soldiers watch the Spring Festival Gala to mobilize them before the battle!

The effect was truly top-notch; everyone now looked like they had been injected with adrenaline, their blood boiling.

It even got him feeling stirred up.

At this moment, the White Elephant soldiers on the side who couldn’t understand the situation could no longer tolerate it.

They saw the Dragon Country soldiers completely ignoring them and still watching something that looked like a science fiction movie, which made them furious.

Consequently, more and more of them gathered, getting closer and closer to the border line, as if they wanted to use this method to express their dissatisfaction and provocation.

But the Dragon Country soldiers were now all brimming with fighting spirit, one after another requesting to fight!

Deputy Battalion Commander Wang Jun still couldn’t understand the situation, muttering: ”The Commander-in-Chief is really something. He won’t let us fight, yet he makes us watch the Spring Festival Gala. Isn’t this just making us feel stifled?”

Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao chuckled and patted Wang Jun on the shoulder, saying: ”Wang Jun, this time the Commander-in-Chief did not tell us to maintain a conservative standoff, but told us to go for it!”

Wang Jun’s eyes widened suddenly, clearly unable to believe his ears!

Battalion Commander Zhang Dabao didn’t care whether he believed it or not, and immediately ordered: ”Throw away everything in your hands, bring out all the artillery and firearms!”

”This time, we are going to make those bastards never return!”
