I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 46 - 46 45 Mercenary Guild46: Chapter 45 Mercenary Guild 46: Chapter 45 Mercenary Guild The wave of zombies lured outside the camp significantly fattened the purses of the camp residents, and even those without money to enter the camp teamed up today to kill some wandering zombies in the woods.

When the zombies attacked, the Territory Shield provided an unparalleled sense of security, and a new wave of people surged into the camp.

Thus, the number of camp residents surged, breaking through one thousand, and more people started renting tree houses, which led to a shortage of tree houses.

Mu Ying quickly built some more tree houses, bringing the total up to 100.

The tree houses were spaced relatively far apart, leaving room for residents to modify them in the future, occupying most of the space in the camp.

[Territory has met the upgrade requirements, upgraded to Village]

[Sub-camp Map unlocked]

[Short-range Teleportation Array Blueprint unlocked]

[Mercenary Guild requests to settle in the camp, do you agree?]

Once the tree houses were built, the territory construction page suddenly displayed many new items.

First were three functional blueprints.

The Lord could design various architectural blueprints in the blueprint column, and add features himself.

Living in an era of information explosion, Mu Ying actually had many ideas about territory construction, but ultimately couldn’t implement them.

She had previously tried designing blueprints similar to sub-camps and teleportation arrays but always failed.

Now she realized it was because the Territory Level was too low.

As for the Mercenary Guild, it was also a type of store, albeit a chain store.

When she previously recruited merchants, she couldn’t even see the requirements for the Mercenary Guild’s settlement, completely unable to invite it, not realizing it was also blocked by the Territory Level.

Mu Ying instinctively clicked agree and then assigned one of the tree houses near the shopping street to it; the guild’s settlement would still take some time.

She took the opportunity to open the two newly unlocked blueprints.

[Facility: Sub-camp]

[Function: Encompasses a small area of land within the territory under protective shield]

[Scale: 500 square meters~1 hectare]

[Required Materials: Territory Shield, Short-range Teleportation Array, 50,000 energy]

[Blueprint Conversion Requirement: 1,000 energy]

[Facility: Short-range Teleportation Array]

[Function: Supports short-range teleport within the territory]

[Scale: Integrated into the territory, conforming to the territory’s scale]

[Required Materials: 50,000 energy]

[Blueprint Conversion Requirement: 1,000 energy]

Mu Ying, seeing the string of zeros in the material requirements, clutched her purse and exclaimed, “That’s too expensive!”

Not to mention the 2,000 energy needed for converting the blueprints, the construction of the teleportation array and the sub-camp together required 100,000 energy, equivalent to 10 Gold Coins.

But right now, she only had 9,864 copper coins in her pocket, not even enough to make up one Gold Coin, and after converting the two blueprints, she would be left with 7,864 copper coins.

The sub-camp was temporarily out of the question.

These days she frequently prided herself on being wealthy, having the territory as a money pot to rely on for making money.

But with this upgrade, she felt the territory had many expenses, and the copper coins earned daily were too few.

The territory might still be a large money-eating beast.

Seeing the blueprint for the sub-camp immediately reminded her of her own plantation, but alas, she couldn’t afford it now.

“Another new store!”

“Mercenary Guild Qingshan Village branch, Qingshan Village?

Isn’t it Qingshan Camp?”

...

Hearing the voices outside, Mu Ying took her umbrella and went out.

The shopping street was not far behind her tree house; it was just a few dozen meters along the overhead pathway.

The Mercenary Guild located behind Bruce Tavern could now be said to be the most imposing building in the territory, spanning three floors, staggered, built around a tree, and even connected by an outdoor wooden staircase.

The wooden sign on the room at the very bottom read in large characters: “Mercenary Guild,” with a smaller inscription next to it: “Qingshan Village Branch.”

Mu Ying followed the crowd into the guild.

The first floor was a rather spacious hall, which seemed to have had its space expanded.

There were several booths inside, and at the farthest counter stood a girl with chestnut curled hair and a petite figure.

She kept a smile, and only when more people gathered did she say loudly:

“Welcome to the Mercenary Guild, I am Kaina, the reception hall manager of this branch.”

“Becoming a mercenary allows you to complete missions and receive rewards.”

“High-level mercenaries can also receive financial support from the guild every month.”

“Registering as an adventurer only requires one silver coin, and establishing a Mercenary Group only requires ten silver coins.”

The noisy discussions of the people did not drown out Kaina’s voice; her loud voice even made everyone stop talking in surprise.

For many people, one silver coin wasn’t a small amount, but having recently faced a large wave of zombies, quite a few people could afford it.

“No wonder I couldn’t get any missions from other NPCs, the Doomsday Game’s task system is here,” Li Wei’s eyes lit up upon hearing the words ‘mission tasks.’

He immediately decided to try out the situation as a representative of the mountain climbing club team.

Although other teams weren’t as fixated on missions as Li Wei, the news of the adventurer team attracted them, and they also chose one person each to register as adventurers.

For instance, Nie Ying from the women’s team and Huo Shaobai from the former Coastal Safety Zone team.

Mu Ying was the only one representing herself to go register.

She stepped forward mainly because she saw Li Wei, the first to register, receive a wooden sign.

The wooden sign, similar to the Lord Token and the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial Token, turned into light and disappeared after being received, leading Mu Ying to speculate that it must have integrated into the Player Manual.

After paying one silver coin, Mu Ying also received her own wooden sign, and as she had expected, it unlocked a new page in the Player Manual.

[Mercenary Guild]

[Mercenary Level: F]

[Affiliated Team: None]

[Mission Records: None] (Viewable)

“Once you’ve successfully registered, you can head upstairs to the mission reception hall from this side,” Kaina said, pointing to a door beside her.

The few who had successfully registered went upstairs and found a hall similar to the one on the first floor.

In the same spot, there was a girl who looked about eighty to ninety percent similar to Kaina, but her workspace was a bit larger.

“Welcome to the Mercenary Guild, I am Kelly, the head of the mission reception hall,” she said.

“You all need to manifest your mercenary identity cards and insert them into the mission compass to receive missions,” Kelly directed, pointing at several floating circular platforms in the middle of the hall.

“Uh, if I may ask, are you and Kaina twin sisters?” Li Wei curiously inquired.

“Yes, I’m the elder sister!” Kelly winked.

Li Wei’s face flushed instantly.

Mu Ying shook her head and walked to a mission compass, where she indeed saw a slot for placing the identity card.

She made her mercenary identity card manifest and inserted it.

[Identity Verification Successful]

[F-level Mercenary Mu Ying, welcome to the Qingshan Village Mercenary Mission Platform]

Following the two notification messages, a beige light screen appeared before her.

Mu Ying glanced at the others; they had similar light screens, but hers displayed nothing but blank space, apparently showing that one could only see their own screen.

She turned her attention back, and the light screen displayed options for accepting and issuing missions.

She clicked on ‘Accept Missions,’ and a vast array of mission information appeared before her.
