I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 32 - 32 31 Piercing Spear32: Chapter 31 Piercing Spear 32: Chapter 31 Piercing Spear “Aisha, what did you mean earlier about the newbie period?”

Mu Ying asked while rubbing her belly, now that they had shared a meal, there was no need for beating around the bush, especially since Aisha was quite straightforward.

“Ah, that?

Did I mention it?” Aisha’s expression stiffened.

Mu Ying nodded vigorously, “You did!”

“Um...

I ate a bit too much, I need to walk it off, thanks for your hospitality.” Aisha hurriedly walked towards the door, then suddenly sighed loudly, “I haven’t made furniture in a month, my hands are itching!”

“...” Wasn’t the emphasis on ‘a month’ clear enough?

Previously, Aisha had mentioned that the newbie period hadn’t passed, and not many people could afford the furniture in her shop, indicating they were still in the newbie period.

Now, this ‘month’ could either mean the newbie period lasts a total of a month, or there is a month left.

Regardless of which it was, it meant that the current peace was only temporary, with zombies just being the beginning; they might be the typical monsters of the newbie period.

The unknown dangers were approaching, but Mu Ying felt a sense of relief knowing that it was better to be aware of the dangers rather than being ignorant like a frog in slowly warming water.

It had been more than a dozen days since the Doomsday Game began, meaning, in another ten to thirty days, there would be new changes.

“I need to use the time wisely to gain more strength,” Mu Ying resolved silently.

After cleaning up the dinner table, Mu Ying went upstairs to prepare her bed, cleaned herself with the Cleaning Technique, and then lay on the bed for her second trial in the Square World.

At this point, the night in Square World was loosening, and the rotten corpses vanished under the sunrise.

Right after entering, good news awaited; survival also yielded Source Power, reinforcing Mu Ying’s idea to make a bed to quickly pass the night.

Mu Ying gathered the stones she had mined yesterday into five groups, converting them into 1 Source Power point, and following last night’s plan, she packed her things and left, following the river to gather wheat.

There were more animals around the river—chickens, pigs—the animals she had hunted yesterday she did not touch today since she already had some bread to satisfy her hunger.

She needed to conserve energy and collect enough wheat to settle down quickly.

She spared neither cows nor the newly discovered sheep, the former for their leather to make packs, the latter for their wool to make beds.

Boxes could be converted into storage wooden chests, and packs likely into space backpacks.

This backpack was not only needed by the trial character but also ranked first on her list for real-world conversion, while the wool could be used to make beds, speeding up the night’s passage.

After collecting 3 pieces of wool, she stopped and added three wooden planks, crafting a bed at the crafting table.

[Single Bed]

[Function: Sleeping on it can pass the night quickly, and you cannot be hurt while sleeping]

[Real-World Conversion: 10 Source Power/unit]

[Item Introduction: A single bed that improves sleep quality and reduces sleep time]

[Source Power Conversion: Not convertible]

The real-world effect of the single bed was also very useful for Mu Ying, who often felt there wasn’t enough time.

However, compared to the backpack, the bed could wait.

[Backpack]

[Function: Contains 10 compartments in the backpack, use increases the number of compartments in the personal backpack]

[Real-World Conversion: 50 Source Power/unit]

[Item Introduction: A storage pouch containing 10 cubic space]

[Source Power Conversion: Not convertible]

Although the backpack’s space was only one-fifth of the box, it was only half as cheap, making the box appear more economical on the surface.

However, the box’s larger size meant it couldn’t be carried around, each with their own advantages.

Mu Ying currently had only 3 Source Power points and needed more time to accrue 50 points.

However, now that she had a bed, she might accelerate the process.

She would first keep this backpack on her trial character to increase the number of compartments.

Just as night fell, Mu Ying took out the single bed from her backpack and placed it on any flat ground she found.

“Would you like to go to bed and sleep?”

Mu Ying chose yes, and her body uncontrollably lay down on the bed.

As soon as her eyes closed and opened again, the sunset had turned into sunrise, and she could see the rotten corpses howling as they were scorched by the sun, and she even managed to pick up quite a few bones to make bone powder.

[Your trial character Mu Ying in Square World has successfully survived 1 day, gaining Source Power ×1]

Trial time had only passed halfway, and she’d already spent another day and night, gaining 1 Source Power.

The world was safe during the day, and Mu Ying continued searching for wheat.

Trial time flew by quickly, and awakening from the trial, Mu Ying found the bed, layered with several quilts, to be incredibly comfortable.

Coupled with today’s significant physical activity, her body and mind were both exhausted.

It wasn’t long before she fell into a deep sleep again.

She went to bed early and woke up early, becoming the first person to rise in the territory.

After washing up, she opened the wardrobe, changed into the new clothes she had bought yesterday – a fitted top and trousers, knee-high laced boots, and a loose hooded robe in a fresh shade of grass green, which perfectly matched the morning forest.

The vegetables in the Plantation had grown quite a bit; the leafy greens would soon be ready to eat, and the saplings had grown taller and would likely be ready to plant out tomorrow.

Mu Ying mixed some Recovery Spring water and after watering all the plants, she left the Plantation.

With the expansion of the camp, more trees were included within its boundaries.

With sufficient time today, she decided to connect with each one.

Her understanding of natural power deepened with each passing day, and her experience continued to accumulate.

Having connected with all the trees in the camp, she spent a good part of her day, then opened the Player Manual to check her attribute panel.

“...

[Profession: Druid Level 2 (242/300)]

[Life Value: 170/170]

[Mana Value: 3/80]

[Attributes: Strength 8, Constitution 11, Agility 11, Intelligence 12, Perception 16, Charm 11]

...”

Today alone, she had almost gained twenty experience points.

At this rate, she could start working on leveling up to Level 3 in about a week.

Having fully integrated the Constitution attribute, Mu Ying allocated the last Natural attribute point to Perception.

As noon approached, there were still a few new stores in the territory that Mu Ying hadn’t fully explored.

She decided to take the opportunity to do some exploring now.

She first visited several stores to the right of the furniture store.

The owner of the weapon store, Curry, was a tall, slim young man, while Paul, the owner of the armor store next door, was short and stout, but solidly built.

Old Uncle Rub, the blacksmith, was an elderly man with white hair but a robust and muscular physique.

If it hadn’t been specified during the initial merchant recruitment that these three shop owners – a father and his sons – requested to settle in the same territory with adjacent shops, Mu Ying would never have guessed that these three completely dissimilar-looking individuals were related.

In all three shops, the blacksmith primarily sold various everyday tools and also offered custom orders, all at reasonable prices.

The weapon and armor shops sold equipment, predominantly lower-grade and White Quality gear, with just one or two Green Quality items for show.

After inspecting the items, Mu Ying found that equipment of White Quality was a cut above the lower-grade stuff, offering more common effects.

However, the Green Quality equipment provided an enhancement in attributes.

The White Quality items were priced in silver coins, while the Green Quality items required gold coins, and not just one or two.

She only had enough money for one or two pieces of White Quality equipment.

After some consideration, she prioritized purchasing armor.

As a Druid, she could equip non-metallic light or medium armor.

She chose a mid-priced piece of leather armor and a low-priced spear.

The leather armor might slightly make up for her defensive shortcomings, and the spear would replace the hoe that had broken when she was working the land yesterday.

The spear could also be used with the Oak Stick Technique, lighter than the hoe but sharper.

[Cowhide Chest Armor]

[Quality: White Standard]

[Effect: Chest and abdominal defense +20]

[Piercing Spear]

[Quality: White Standard]

[Effect: Penetration Power +10]

The Cowhide Chest Armor cost her 60 silver coins, and the Piercing Spear cost 30 silver coins.

After that, she bought a small hoe at the blacksmith’s shop, to be used when planting trees.
