I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 28 - 28 27 Territory Expansion28: Chapter 27: Territory Expansion 28: Chapter 27: Territory Expansion Trial Time ended, and Mu Ying’s consciousness returned.

She sat up and stretched luxuriously.

The Ten Thousand Worlds Trial was indeed miraculous.

Although the first Trial World seemed to contain only rather ordinary things, it didn’t mean that would always be the case.

And there were few things worth exchanging in Square World, but as long as one paid attention at night, it was not dangerous and one could steadily earn Source Power.

Once she had saved enough Source Power, she could open new Trial Worlds.

There was bound to be something good.

The time difference between the Trial World and reality also meant it wouldn’t take up much of her time, at most resulting in character death and not having Source Power to open new worlds which would cause the functionality of Ten Thousand Worlds Trial to be directly scrapped, but it wouldn’t endanger her life.

It was still early, so Mu Ying took out paper and pen and began to draw and write.

“Current resources: 680 energy + 56 silver 27 copper, roughly equivalent to 6307 energy.”

“Tasks to do:

1.

Expand territory: expand to 5000 square with 500 energy, 1 hectare for 1000 energy, 2 hectares for 2000 energy, 3 hectares for 3000 energy...

2.

Plantation: add internal partitions and privacy measures to the Territory Shield to achieve this, energy 300

3.

Increase the number of Tree House Residences, estimated addition of 50 rooms, energy 1500

4.

Modify Tree House Residences’ plans to allow for expansion, energy 1000

5.

Improve resident selection function, requires no energy

6.

Introduce other shops, energy?”

Mu Ying listed the things needed for territory development and energy.

The territory area needed to be expanded again, and expanding to 2 hectares would be quite sufficient.

But to prevent too many people from gathering outside the Territory Shield, Mu Ying planned to include Moon Lake entirely within the territory borders.

That way, 3 hectares would be enough.

For the Plantation, she would use the land at the entrance of the campsite that had been greatly devastated.

There were almost no trees left, even the soil was compacted.

She planned to add a new function to the protective shield that would allow her to erect isolation barriers within the territory, protecting her plantation and obscuring it from others’ view, allowing people inside to see out, but those outside could not see in.

With these improvements, the territory would need to consume 50 energy per day.

Tree House Residence was to prepare for the people coming to the territory, and considering that many people liked to live together, she modified the Tree House plans.

First, she added the capability to reduce the overall weight of the Tree House, which meant the restrictions for expanding the Tree House were greatly reduced, whether it was enlarging the area or adding several floors, allowing the residents to decide for themselves.

The uniform Tree Houses also didn’t look that great.

She took inspiration from the Territory Shield and added a feature where residents could adjust the shape and style of the Tree House without altering its essence.

These functions were very useful, and very expensive; just upgrading the plans cost 1000 energy, but it saved many future problems.

The additional resident selection function was already available in the protective shield, but she had not set it up before.

She planned to configure it specifically for those who recklessly destroyed the forest.

As for the shops, during her last trip out, Mu Ying noticed many pre-Doomsday items were corroding at a rapid pace, the general store’s items were mixed and not fine.

She decided to start with basic life necessities.

Thankfully, the number of residents in the camp had reached 100, and many shops had reached the level needed for introduction.

Mu Ying introduced a tavern, a bakery, a ready-to-wear shop, a weapon shop, an Armor Store, a furniture shop, and a Blacksmith shop.

Luckily, these shops did not need extra energy, and only required the territory’s population.

Mu Ying calculated a total need for 5800 energy.

She counted out three silver coins and converted the rest into energy, totaling 6107 energy, of which 150 points were injected into the Territory Shield as a reserve for the next three days.

After planning almost everything, she carried her dinner out of the Tree House and sat on the Tree House platform, dangling her legs in the air, and ate silently.

At this time, it was not too late, and many people were outside cooking and enjoying lively conversations, similar to her, sitting at the entrance of their Tree Houses.

Under a distant tree, as Nie Ying, who had difficulty kindling a fire from others, was teary-eyed from the smoke and wiping her eyes, she suddenly heard Zheng Jing saying, “Look, isn’t that Mu Ying sitting at the entrance to Tree House Number 2?”

Nie Ying hurriedly dried her tears and looked that way, “It seems like it, let’s go see!”

Mu Ying looked at the two people approaching her, the corners of her mouth lifted slightly.

While she exchanged pleasantries with them, the members of the mountain climbing club also caught sight of her.

Just as Liu Luoluo waved to her, Mu Ying subtly activated all the construction tasks she had previously set up in the territory development panel.

Next was the time to test her acting skills.

She continued to chat as if nothing happened, and Nie Ying with her companion did not interrupt much, only came to express their gratitude.

Right as they were about to take their leave, they noticed a sudden commotion around them and looked around to see what was happening.

Mu Ying watched as Liu Luoluo stopped talking halfway, confused, and then seemed to notice something.

She jumped down and stared at the several dozen tree houses taking shape, maintaining the same surprised expression as everyone else.

“There are new tree houses!”

“I want to rent one!”

“Eh?

This one says a shop is going to move in!”

“This one too!”

“This one is available for rent, but what does it mean to adjust the exterior appearance and expand?”

The discussion was unceasing.

Suddenly, someone realized the camp’s main gate was gone, and the area where the gate used to be was now shrouded in a layer of white fog, obscuring the view inside.

This change quickly caught everyone’s attention, and many people ran over to see for themselves.

Mu Ying followed the crowd and reached out to touch the white fog, saying perplexedly, “It seems like there’s some kind of barrier?

I can’t get in?”

“Where did the Territory Shield go?”

“I think I heard someone shouting over there?”

“My heavens!

The territory expanded so much all at once?”

“Hey, did you see what’s going on?”

“Stop talking, we were pushed over here by this wall, it’s so annoying!”

“I still have stuff inside!

I have to go in and check, eh?

Why has the entrance fee gone up?”

“Did you damage the trees?”

It turned out that the notice board had an additional rule regarding the territory: “5.

Excessive deforestation is prohibited within the territory; fees will be doubled for over-harvesting, replanting trees can mitigate certain impacts (Note: Cutting a small number of trees for basic survival needs is exempted).”

“This clause is a bit overbearing.”

“It says it’s fine as long as it’s for survival; I only cut down three trees to make a fire, and now the entrance fee is 10 copper coins?”

“Do you need to cut down 3 trees just to make a fire?

Besides, I saw you uprooting seedlings!”

For a while, the new camp’s main gate was abuzz with noise and discussion.

After watching the excitement, Mu Ying walked back towards her tree house and saw Liu Luoluo running over.

“Mu Ying, the Tree Houses can be expanded now and we can even adjust their appearance!

But it’s ridiculously expensive!”

“Really?

I was just thinking my tree house felt a bit small,” Mu Ying looked at the wooden sign next to the door.

“Tree House No.2 (Rented Out)

Initial area: 20 square meters (rent increases by 5 copper coins for every 10 square meters of expansion)

Adjustment of house shape: Charged based on the extent of modification, starting at 50 copper coins.”

Mu Ying inserted a silver coin.

The Tree House began to deform, expanding a bit, and then the roof started to rise, eventually transforming into a double-layered duplex with a pointed roof, with 40 square meters on the first floor and 20 square meters on the second floor.

She didn’t make significant changes to the house shape, as the original was already designed to her liking and suited her aesthetic perfectly.

She simply divided it into an upper and lower floor, added a few windows, and made some internal divisions, consuming 20 points of energy.

Of course, if it were someone else, the same modifications would cost at least 40 copper coins.
