I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 12 - 12 11 Professional Cultivation12: Chapter 11 Professional Cultivation 12: Chapter 11 Professional Cultivation After searching through these two households, Mu Ying decided to head back.

For one thing, the bamboo basket on Old Yellow Bull’s back was almost full; for another, she planned to take a longer, alternative path on her way back.

Having Old Yellow Bull as her companion to remind her, she could also connect with several older trees to feel the natural power.

She also cut several branches from each type of tree and placed them in bottles, which were filled with water mixed with Recovery Spring.

This longer path almost clung to the protective zone’s wire fence, and it was a safe journey, until she approached the valley where Crescent Lake was located and it got lively again.

“Don’t you guys have any sense of public decency, luring zombies right to our doorstep?

How are others supposed to get in and out?”

“Yeah, that’s right, it’s not your campsite.

You’ve blocked the entrance and caused us to almost get bitten by zombies, not to mention I even injured my arm.

Shouldn’t you compensate for that?”

“Didn’t I heal you?”

“Your little bit of healing didn’t even restore my blood volume to full!”

A group of people were arguing in a bunch at the entrance of the campsite, but they all tacitly stood within the boundaries of the camp, seeming to be just quarreling without actually fighting.

With Old Yellow Bull in tow, Mu Ying passed by quietly, feeling secretly elated.

So many new faces, she should be able to earn a good amount of copper coins!

“Hey, wait a moment, Mu Ying, come and tell us, there’s nothing wrong with fighting monsters at the entrance of the campsite, is there?

We even learned it from you!”

Liu Luoluo grabbed Mu Ying’s arm and shouted loudly.

“...”

Mu Ying pulled her hand away, “It’s fine to fight monsters at the entrance of the campsite, but only if it doesn’t affect others.

Otherwise, why didn’t I lead zombies here to fight today?”

Of course, she felt that professional cultivation was much easier than fighting zombies.

Who made her a peace-loving Druid with little attack power?

It was common knowledge that where there were more people, there would be more zombies, yet she had no intention of joining in the excitement, simply lacking the ability to confront large numbers of zombies head-on.

Also, looking at the Druid’s Magic List, the attack power of the first-tier spells was insufficient, and she didn’t need to think about going out and killing until she reached level 3 and learned the second-tier spells.

However, as long as she played it safe, being able to attack, defend, and heal, survival as a Druid wasn’t difficult.

On the way back, she connected with a few different types of trees and gained 10 Professional Experience points.

Killing 5 zombies today gave her only 5 Slaughter Experience points.

She obtained the former comfortably, while for the latter, she had to be cautious and afraid.

A comparison showed her what she should do.

Of course, combat ability should not be neglected.

Mu Ying thought that she could find a few zombies daily to practice her spells, but there was no need to grind monsters for leveling up as if playing a game.

If one relied solely on fighting monsters, each person would have to kill at least 50 zombies to fill up their Slaughter Experience quota.

A person who failed to log into the game would spawn two zombies; with so many people leveling up, this number of zombies wouldn’t be enough.

Moreover, the attribute panel hinted that a maximum of 50% of the experience needed to reach level 2 can come from Slaughter Experience, which implied that Professional Experience was much more important than Slaughter Experience.

Thinking of this, Mu Ying still reminded them, “Study the introductions to your professions a bit more.

Professional cultivation is also very important!

Don’t just blindly follow the game mechanic of leveling up by killing monsters.”

“Professional cultivation?

What professional cultivation?”

Mu Ying had them stumped.

Thinking that these people were all potential residents of her territory, Mu Ying kindly explained, “Haven’t you noticed that skill magic and the like all require actual learning before they can be used?

It’s not like in games where you learn it all at once.

I don’t know the details of other professions, but let me use myself as an example.”

“For instance, I am a Druid, which is a Divine Skill profession.

My source of strength is nature, so if I want more strength, I have to protect nature, of course.

Simply put, I need to have a good relationship with nature.

That’s why I get close to plants and take care of them, if my actions are effective, then I can gain professional experience.”

“So that’s what you were doing this morning, watering the trees?” Cheng Wei realized, “Is Druid cultivation that simple?

With the vast Qingshan Forest, your cultivation should be very easy!”

“Not necessarily; only effective actions count.

If the tree doesn’t need water, watering it would be useless.

Exactly how to cultivate depends on one’s understanding,” Mu Ying had figured out a pattern, but she couldn’t guarantee its effectiveness.

Besides, she had Recovery Spring, and if others were to simply copy her, they would just be wasting their effort.

Mu Ying’s words prompted them to reflect, and the arguing stopped.

They each opened their adventure manuals, checking the professional introductions they had overlooked before.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t another Druid present, so they couldn’t exchange tips with her.

Mu Ying took the opportunity to slip away with Old Yellow Bull.

After tethering Old Yellow Bull to the tree trunk that supported the Tree House, Mu Ying moved the items in the bamboo basket into her home.

Then, she took up her hoe and went with Old Yellow Bull to the edge of crescent lake to dig a basketful of mud and pick some stones.

After that, she used the stones to enclose a roughly 2-square-meter quadrangular area on the platform at the entrance of the Tree House and filled it with a thick layer of mud.

This spot was far from the ground and within the protection of the Tree House.

Others weren’t allowed to climb up via the wooden ladder, which made it perfect for planting a few small things.

She plugged the branches she had brought back into the soil, using Druid Tricks to encourage them to take root, then she sprinkled water mixed with Recovery Spring over the base of the branches to ensure they would survive.

She would rely on them when she went out to plant trees in the future.

After finishing all this, Mu Ying carefully packed a few seeds of each type she had collected today, stuffed them into her pocket, and headed to Oak Grocery.

“Welcome to Oak Grocery...

I am the attendant Wuyaya...

Please come to the counter to check the product catalog for purchasing adventure items.

If you’re selling plant seeds or saplings, please find Old Man Shom in the back room.”

Wuyaya, lying on a mat, uttered its greeting listlessly upon hearing someone enter.

After one day of business with zero performance, there were many onlookers but few buyers.

There were also those who inexplicably referred to it as an NPC, seeking to gain some advantage from it.

Wuyaya, as a normal bird, wouldn’t part with a single feather, that was the basic quality it should hold.

To provide benefits to others?

The people of this planet must have something wrong with their brains.

“I have some plant seeds to sell,” Mu Ying said with amusement as she watched the raven.

Its movements and mannerisms were so animated it was hard not to let one’s hand wander.

She silently stroked Yuan Gungun in her arms, suppressing the impulse.

“They aren’t just weeds dug up from anywhere or random branches snapped off, are they?” Wuyaya asked skeptically, as many had come today trying to make money by plucking grass and breaking branches, even things that could be found everywhere in the camp.

They couldn’t even get past this checkpoint, as its master had already secretly collected those.

“No,” Mu Ying pulled out the seeds and placed them on the counter.

Wuyaya shuffled them with its claw, “Not bad, they still have vitality.

Old Man Shom should be interested, go through that door to find him!”

Mu Ying nodded her head and walked over to the door near the rest area, pushing the door to enter.
