I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 30 - 30 29 Aisha Furniture30: Chapter 29 Aisha Furniture 30: Chapter 29 Aisha Furniture Having returned home, she immediately summoned the Player Manual and started to filter the spells she needed to learn next based on survival needs.

Cloud Mist Technique could change the combat environment, creating a dense fog that obscures the enemy’s line of sight or hides herself.

Jumping Technique would enable her to quickly distance herself from or approach an enemy.

Up to now, she hadn’t learned any defensive spells, so a spell that could be used to flee could compensate for this somewhat.

There were also animal conversation and Magic Claw.

The former would allow communication with animals.

The ability of Wilderness Identification meant that Druids were naturally closer to animals, so if they could communicate more clearly, the ubiquitous animals might become the helpers and scouts for Druids.

Magic Claw was to be used on animal companions, strengthening their Innate Weapons such as claws and teeth.

Although Yuan Gungun was still young, it didn’t prevent her from planning ahead.

When she first started learning spells, she felt that there just wasn’t enough time.

If it weren’t for her desire to stop sleeping in a sleeping bag, Mu Ying would definitely have been unable to stop.

As evening approached, Mu Ying counted the rental income for the day.

Adding to the 2 silver coins she had left over, there were a total of 134 silver coins and 40 copper coins on the small table.

That was even more than she had accumulated over the previous week.

The majority of it came from the rents of the shops in the territory.

After the Tree House gained the function to expand and adjust the room types on its own, the newly arrived shops, including Oak Grocery, generously expanded their Tree Houses.

Based on their expanded area, the daily rental income from each shop was around 50 copper coins on average, which amounted to 15 silver coins per month.

Since the rent was paid monthly, Mu Ying became wealthy overnight again.

She converted 100 silver coins into a shiny Gold Coin and carefully placed it in her purse.

This was her first Gold Coin, signifying her wealth had reached another level.

With her bulging purse in hand, Mu Ying finally dared to flip through the shop catalogues more freely.

The 7 newly opened shops were lined up in a row.

Because they had all been expanded, they were almost tightly packed together.

One could directly step from the platform of one shop to the entrance of another, and even the Oak Grocery had its door changed to connect with the others, forming a “7” shaped small commercial district.

From beginning to end, the shops were Oak Grocery, Penny’s Cloth Workshop, Marin’s Bakery, Bruce Tavern, Aisha Furniture, Curry Weapon Store, Paul Armor, and Old Uncle Rub Ironsmith Shop in order.

Mu Ying first visited the furniture store.

The furniture store had the most exquisite storefront among these shops.

If the Oak Grocery, almost engulfed by vines and flowering plants, represented pure natural beauty, then Aisha Furniture showcased artificial natural beauty.

It used carving to express the beauty of nature on the storefront, with lifelike carvings of animals and plants filling every corner of the furniture store, demonstrating unique craftsmanship that was immediately apparent to anyone who saw it.

The door of the furniture store was wide open, offering just a glimpse of the exquisite interior.

Once Mu Ying walked in, she found that it felt more like a “home” suitable for living in rather than a furniture store.

All kinds of furniture were placed in positions that suited them best, which inevitably made one yearn to own them.

“Hmm, another visitor?”

Aisha, who was taking a nap in her rocking chair, raised her eyes to look at Mu Ying, “Hmm?”

Although her shop had been bustling that day, she hadn’t made a single sale.

But the way this person was inspecting the interior décor was something she was all too familiar with; at last, a potential sale had come.

The laziness that had enveloped her fell away like receding tide.

She hurriedly tidied her disheveled short hair and wore a business-like smile on her face, giving off an impression of shrewdness and efficiency.

After a brief self-introduction, Aisha led Mu Ying to sit on the living room sofa and offered her a cup of steaming hot tea.

“This is the product catalogue of our store, you can also place custom orders, but the price would be a bit higher,” Aisha pushed the thick book on the coffee table towards Mu Ying.

Mu Ying flipped it open and saw pages of room pictures; the furniture in these rooms were the merchandise, with dimensions, materials, and prices all listed clearly beside them.

Each picture had a different style, but they all shared one thing in common: they were expensive.

The gorgeous-looking furniture was something she couldn’t afford at all, and the prices only seemed to get higher as she flipped further.

After looking through a few pages and realizing she was still quite short on funds, Mu Ying turned back to examine the earlier pages’ sample pictures more closely.

The images shared a common feature; they were modest and unassuming, highlighting the natural color of the raw materials, with minimal additional decor, yet they managed to be simply stylish.

Mu Ying decided to go for the most ordinary raw wood furniture where a table, chairs, and beds ranged from 1 to 3 silver coins each.

Still, she allowed herself a small luxury.

The sofa she was sitting on was really comfortable, and the design was attractive; a pinkish-purple floral fabric with tiny, exquisite flowers.

Indeed, amidst a host of dark-colored wooden furniture, a bright and lively color was needed, so she splurged on a single-seater sofa of this design, costing her a whole 10 silver coins.

“One raw wood desk, one raw wood dining table, one raw wood prep station, five high-backed chairs, one standing bookshelf, one raw wood double wardrobe, one raw wood double bed, one round small wooden table, six sets of double-layered muslin curtains, one pinkish-purple floral single-seater sofa, that will be 30 silver coins in total,” Aisha quickly calculated the price, glad to have earned this month’s rent back.

“All of these pieces of furniture are in stock at the shop, and can be delivered immediately.

Since there isn’t much business today anyway, why don’t I close the shop and deliver them for you?”

Having made a profit, Aisha was naturally very attentive.

Mu Ying nodded in agreement, yet she didn’t see Aisha moving to transport the goods, and they both left the shop together.

Despite her curiosity and many speculations popping up in her mind, Mu Ying didn’t ask any questions, figuring she would find out soon enough.

When they arrived at her home, Aisha asked where each piece of furniture should be placed.

Mu Ying walked up to a window, “Put the desk here, and one of the chairs too.”

Aisha pointed her hand at these two spots, and the furniture Mu Ying had chosen appeared out of thin air.

A storage space, perhaps?

Mu Ying was rather well-traveled by now, with Grandpa Shom’s Half-plane and her Backpack and Box in Square World all having storage capabilities.

The rest of the set-up went quickly.

After a walk around the house, all items were in their proper places.

“All done, delivery complete, how about we head to the tavern for a drink?”

Aisha, counting the newly-acquired silver coins, was in high spirits.

In this new world where everything was just starting, while there was much to look forward to, life at this stage was a bit too dull.

“Ah?” Mu Ying was taken aback, having not expected Aisha to invite her for a drink, as she thought store owners couldn’t easily leave their shops!

Seeing Mu Ying’s wide-eyed look and her plump, fair, and delicately baby-faced expression, Aisha raised an eyebrow, “You aren’t underage, are you?”

“No, I’m of age.

Don’t you need to go back to the shop?

You can spend at other stores?”

After interacting with Grandpa Shom and Wuyaya, Mu Ying no longer regarded these people as mere NPCs, but as a Lord, she knew they were restricted by their territory and wouldn’t pose a threat; moreover, their shops were the foundation for their presence here.

“Still in the newbie phase, do you think other people can afford the stuff from my store?

And since I can’t cook, what’s the problem with heading to the tavern to grab some food and have a drink?”

Aisha asked, puzzled by Mu Ying’s question.

Realizing she had asked something silly after seeing Aisha’s expression, Mu Ying understood that these store owners apparently knew some truths about the apocalypse, just like the word that had accidentally slipped from her lips before.

With that in mind, Mu Ying quickly shook her head, “No problem, I just had a silly thought.

But as you’ve seen, my new bed doesn’t even have a proper blanket, so I need to go to the Cloth Workshop to buy some things.

Afterwards, I’ll join you at the tavern, dinner’s on me.”

“Okay, I’ll go to the Cloth Workshop with you,” Aisha replied.

With someone offering a treat, it would be foolish not to accept.

Her joy increased significantly, and she found the generous young lady in front of her far more pleasant to the eye.
